I feel like maybe some of the answers and complaints would be posed if you rewatched the movie, bc the things you complained about WERE explained. Like the cards not being burned, they couldnt be burned and its not like a onr of you could have blinked and missed, the characters talked about it for a good minute and the old lady gave an explanation.

SERIOUSLY? This movie is like watching Ricky Gervais and Rebel Wilson try be funny. My loves... I don't care what you life's has entailed bit please.... don't put yourself through this!!! Your better than that!!! Life is too precious to waste like this. 💗😈

day one was a terrible movie we need part three

Having a pet in a movie like this is complete nonsense. So unrealistic. I liked the first two movies, but I regret watching this. The biggest sin a movie can commit is to bore you and it accomplished that.

How dare you make fun of this amazing movie. It had interesting themes and wasn't boring for even a second. All the characters were smart, especially the non main characters that run around screaming and grabbing people. This movie was def not too long. Perfect length. The death scenes were so sick and unpredictable. That guy who stops the loud machine and then smiles... I had no idea what was going to happen right after that. It was also realistic how the cat never makes a single noise and is immortal. This movie had very few cliches and did something WAY different. This movie blows. It should have never made it past the halfway point. Pure trash.

I fell asleep 3x watching this. the cat and pizza thing is over the top ridiculous. especially the cat. theres no end goal. shes dying anyway and the guy is random and u can careless if he dies

Also John Krasinski did not directly write Day One, but he had the idea for it and collaborated with Michael Sarnoski. Don’t know why it’s a critique that he didn’t write this film, even if he helped to give it a starting ground of story ideas.

I'm so late to the party but i just happened to be bored enough to watch movie and immediately looked up every REVIEW i could find to make sure I wasn't going crazy. So we all agree...The movie was awful but the one thing that i havent heard one person mention so i thought i would comment is in reference to the guy on the missing poster/ referenced by waitress as "big city guy who came thru and they never saw again"/ is the same guy killed at the opening and also the dead body that the female lead saw while she was hiding under the leaves Obviously, the movie still wasnt good but i just thought maybe that will end up meaning something in the other movies 🤔🤔

In the first theatre shelter, there is a scene where military helicopters order survivors to shelter in place and to "make no sound." This happens after the survivors have already been quietly sheltering, I can only assume the helicopters are circling around making the announcements multiple times. There were more military helicopters that announced the "attackers" as unable to swim/cross water alongside the order to go to the port, so that's why they were using boats and why the boats knew it was safe to use their horn.

And the one cool thing this show "came up with", the short lightsaber, wasn't even from this show originally. Not only did Ahsoka have a lightsaber shoto blade in her off-hand as a padawan, but LUKE SKYWALKER had a red shoto blade in the old EU comics/novels to help him defeat Lady Lumiya (who ironically also had a light-whip like Venestra does, which cannot be anything but a direct reference to this event).

This movie suffers from the same problem all Shitamalan movies after Unbreakable suffer from: nobody talks like a normal person, nobody ACTS like a normal person. The problem is, if your characters are to be convincing they HAVE to act like normal people, unless they're playing a deranged character. We don't KNOW and CAN'T know how inhuman beings act because we've never met one. When you read about fay folk in folklore, they act and express emotions like normal humans, even if those emotions are often negative (in for instance like how easily offended and petty they are), but they don't act like emotionless robots like in Signs or this movie (like, seriously, who tells a bird, "You wouldn't like me if you knew the real me"? Who TALKS like that?!? Really, the daughter learned well from her incompetent and pretentious father.

Shymalan’s “flaw” was always finalizing stories with prioritizing the idea/premise and not the actual story. He clearly doesn’t have an issue coming up with great ideas.

Unpopular opinion: If you have to make your protagonists that stupid that they made every possible mistake and more, you didn’t write effective villains. Now the villains worked weird in that they could just teleport and remain quiet in a house that made noise in the breeze. Scarecrow could just chill out behind Maya while she played piano and she never heard him walk up, sit in the chair or leave. Pin Up started acting whacky when the gun was on her and the truck only made noise when they needed to see it not when it was already running What would’ve increased the horror is if the protags had actual escape plans and almost got there. At no point in the film did I think “They’re gonna make it”

I hated the movie, but something you seem to have missed is that when the helicopters passed early in the movie, telling people to evacuate at the specific pier, they also mentioned that the aliens can’t swim which is why everyone does already know that they can’t swim

I RENTED this movie after seeing the first two.... Then stopped watching halfway because I got so DAMN BORED... Movie is a GIGANTIC waste of Lupita nyongo

I just watched it with my mom and when the Fentanyl pharmacy run scene came on she said ''Oh that explains everything''. I rolled under the table from laughter. But this fixed the loss of 100 minutes spent on watching this absolute nothingburger of a movie. I rate it: Apocalypse can wait, i want that Za!/10

Kris = Johnny. Johnny = Kris. This is a more artsy attempt at doing Haute Tension but extremely boring and slow paced. This movie succeeds nowhere and fails everywhere.

3:47 It's a patch with (probably) morphine. She doesn't need it to survive, she needs it to not be in unbearable pain. Also, she gets promised pizza if she goes on the trip, that's why she wants pizza. She's dying and knows it, and wanted to do it in the hospice, but I think it took way longer than the docters told her she had left. So she felt stuck, not living in her city, not dying. That's why she want's the pizza, not for some reason lol. It was a really shitty movie, but as a character study it was fantastic. But it coudl've been any Alien killing all humans movie. The monsters didn't feel consistant with the previous movies, and a lot of scenes didnt have any stakes because it was obvious they weren't in real danger since they could just run away and somehow they couldn't be heard. 8:05 It's her notebook, she reads the poem from at the start of the movie. So I guess she had it with her. (you didn't get a few things wrong, you got the whole point of the movie wrong. She goes to Harlem to get control back of her life. She wrote the poem about dying and the guy reads it and starts tearing up. It's a big plot point) She doesn't see him as a friend because she knows it's just his job to take care of people that are dying of cancer. She doesn't really "need" him. It's a shit movie, don't get me wrong lol.

I just watched the movie (sadly, but at least I streamed it and didn’t spend money at the movie theater) and let me just say, you know it wasn’t written by AI because they got almost everything wrong about tarot and zodiac signs, starting with the “reading your horoscope”. AI isn’t that dumb and lazy about research, as far as I’ve seen.

Luckily a movie is a bit of fiction so it doesn't have to make sense for people to enjoy it such as myself, that being said not liking it is completely valid as well. Turns out we all have different tastes and wants when it comes to entertainment.

I must admit, I watched a film and it was very long and it did drag through. But then when I came back to it, I realized that it might be that it's trying to play upon the fact that we expect to want violence so much that we're not satisfied. Perhaps the frustration that we feel when there's not a final moment. or a closure of the story. Perhaps if playing upon our own violent nature, Our inability just to take something in, Taking us through shots of nature that has no music, has no culture, no politics. To amplifies the fact that we're waiting for something terrible to happen... Our own sensibilities are screaming for it. or it could mean absolutely none of that. 😅

I've put this film on twice fue to renting it on amazon, and still havnt watched it, it's typically boring like the majority of other overated sequal/prequel movies. Pointless film, don't watch it you won't miss out on anything.

I suppose that's why I'm suffering under the massive crush on Qimir. He knows how play it. Batting those pretty eyelashes at Osha while they talk! I am so much in love!

I am reminded with Bazil; a certain movie called "The Muppets: Most Wanted." In this movie; Animal seems to take a sniff of the imposter that has replaced Kermit, then starts screaming: "Bad frog! Bad frog! Bad frog!" No one pays attention even though Animal is actually right. I wish Bazil could be understood. He would be screaming: "That's not Osha!"

Thank you so much for this rant. Most reviewers are raving about this movie. Hubbie and I were bored to tears. Love the lead actors. They were acting well, adored the cat, but the characters were unlikeable. I really didn't care what happened to them. I only wanted the cat to survive. Nothing really happened. First you have to get over the premise of the movie. Say it out loud, "a movie about a character who walks to get a slice of pizza." Ridiculous. Yes, it is her last meal, got it, but what made her think there would be anything there at all. Also, in a quiet place one the alien dives under water while the mother is in the basement, yet for this one, the alien couldn't deal with the water at all. Don't get me wrong, I want this lore to continue but I need more thought put into the script.

My biggest nitpick with the movie was that, the characters, not even one of them thought of discarding the shoes and just walking in socks, literaly would've saved them so much more time because they wouldn't make as much noise while running away

I actually felt bad for wasting time watching this trash. This is one of the worst movies I have ever seen.
