My man, don’t apologize for disagreeing with armchair assholes in the comments! You’re the boss, you took the time to make this video, this is YOUR party. Don’t let them ruin it for you. If they want to argue, let them make their own videos. Stay true to yourself!
It started when Viserys married Alicent.
Also I believe he is openly flirting with the queen because he is now hand as well as the lord commander. He is in 2 spots of great power
He’s doing more than flirting with the Queen. He asked her for her favor loudly in front of many, including Gawain. Cole now has more power than Alicent. I think he was making a point with both Alicent AND all watching.
Matters not one bit. That's the "King's" Mom. None of his titles will protect him if they're caught.
Just found this channel. Loved the breakdown, super detailed with the characters’ motives explained and Easter eggs pointed out without a lot of jumping around. Bravo
Great job on the editing to keep the commentary moving quickly with the scenes from the show. Subbed
I don’t think Helaena was particularly forgiving Alicent for anything. If she was then it would be for putting Aegon on the throne and putting everyone Helaena cares about in danger.
But I think it was more that Alicent had been blaming herself and trying to talk to people about her sins and about how they are being punished. She needs someone to give her forgiveness, and Helaena can do that for her.
Him as link is great!
Cant believe Eryk and Aryk got tossed in a ditch. Even if you cant tell them apart, I thought they deserved a more respectable send off.
I absolutely loved this episode. I loved how at the beginning it was discussed how no one would remember or acknowledge what began the war in the first place, however as viewers watching history unfold in this universe, I think it can be moderately agreed upon that the actual declaration of war, the actual start of the war took place in that sept. Two old friends on opposing sides, spilling their guts and discovering that there truly is NO other way forward besides fire and blood. That last conversation between friends turned sworn enemies. That was the true start of the dance of the dragons.
I am kinda torn between this episode ! There are things I loved and there are 2 things I hated ! But I like more then I dislike !
@@jasonck9635I find most entertainment to be this way last few years. Gotta close one eye to things that suck and hope there’s enough good to outweigh the bad. So far Dragons has been more good than bad.
thank you youtube for recommending your channel, love the review & just subbed
Tyrion had the same chain, maybe it’s for armours… Otto would never 😂.
Honestly, the awkward scene with Cole and Alicent feels better to me than the sex scenes. It’s easier to be sympathetic for affection than their carnal desire failings.
I think Aemond likes the posturing as better than Aegon… Fights better, better dragon… The only path for him is high honor risking his life “protecting” the king.
Btwwww, I played Majora’s mask that way!! 😂 I get your feelings in comparing this to games, I compare the dragons to the Fatalis dragon in Monster Hunter.
also in season one we saw a different young blackwood and bracken fight in the court in kings landing when all the suitors were there
Those are young Lords in the court, heirs to their houses. The ones arguing in the field were not the heirs
doesn't really matter who moved the stones, these 2 houses have been fighting for a long time and they just using the excuse to fight
I interpreted the whole prince / grace thing as being similar to European monarchies, where there's usually a specific form of address reserved for the monarch distinct from that used for other members of the royal family. I had to look up the specifics here, but in the case of Elizabeth and Philip she was referred to as 'your majesty' while he would be 'your royal highness'. Even now in the modern era I imagine it would be a huge deal and 'scandal' if anyone other than the monarch insisted on being addressed as such.
If we look at the universe where this takes place it’s very different - they call the Queen ‘your grace’ when she has a ruling king as her husband so the comparison is nice but not accurate to the lore. Love the comment and effort on the research here though this was really cool to read
@@Stark-Cinema yeah I noticed that later in the episode wrt Allicent. since the show made a point of highlighting disagreement about Daemon's title multiple times I'm guessing it's not accidental, so it probably has to do with traditional gender roles.
e.g. the default assumption of 'your grace' is that it refers either to the male monarch or his wife - since all other westerosi monarchs have been men
Daemon is the first male consort of a female monarch, so the show seems to be arguing that 'your grace' would, in this context, carry the connotation that he's the king
also 'King', at least in English, seems to broadly be understood as the highest monarchic title - like the idea of a King being subordinate to a Queen just feels somehow incorrect... so my guess here is that the whole thing has a lot to do with traditional gender roles and language nuances
@@Stark-Cinema to expand on that last part, while this is more about titles than forms of address - it's common for female spouses of male monarchs to become 'Queen', but men never become 'King'. Until her abdication earlier this year, Denmark's monarch was 'Queen Margrethe', and her husband was 'Prince Henrik' - something he complained about repeatedly throughout his life, wanting to be granted the title of 'King' - so even while actively campaigning for it, it was apparently a complete non-starter for what I'm guessing are the same linguistic assumptions we see here.
That’s the bracken boy in the stream dead, not Blackwood. It looks like the Blackwood guy but the corpse is wearing the bracken sigil of a stallion
Ah the uniform seemed different to me maybe I’m an idiot thanks for the note
Aegon and sunfyre were said to have the closest dragon bond of any of the dragon riders and yet we've never seen him with his dragon and they're both about to be sidelined... I guess they can't get everything right in this show.
There's a thing called a budget. Some things *must* be set aside simply bc they cannot afford to film everything. Esp stuff that involves dragons.
They've already had two episodes cut bc of budget reasons. That limits what they can do even more.
@thisguy8106 you have a source for saying 2 episodes were cut due to budget? HOTD is hbos biggest money maker during a time when they really need viewership and money if they're cutting episodes I garuantee it's becauae they want to do 4 seasons instead of 3, or 5 instead of 4.
Great review! Love the symbolism you pointed out. I didn’t pick up on those.
Really liked your breakdown ! And video ! This is my first time on your channel ! You gained a new subscriber 🙌
Just found your channel! Well done! 👏🏼👏🏼
That super nintendo line or n64 I can't remember earned you a subscriber. Good video bro
I agree with your analysis. Don't let the haters alter your opinion.
The point you made about Rhaenyra being merciful is interesting when thinking about Otto telling his daughter she will have to cling to Rhaenyra and her mercy for her family to survive. At this point, it looks like Rhaenyra would have been merciful and Otto was wrong.
Aemond was using reverse psychology in the council meeting. By saying he shouldn't risk himself he was provoking him to risk himself.
@21:00 I interpreted Helena forgiving Alicent for being the reason Criston Cole wasn’t on duty. Had he of been at his post-outside of Alicent’s bed chamber, not in it; her son may still be alive. I don’t think it’s far fetched to assume that Helena is aware that Visery’s didn’t name Aegon the heir and that Otto and Alicent are the architects of this conflict.
Without spoiling anything...if Daemon doesn't "...die in this place", then what might be the point of that scene?
Alys is going to teach him about the impending apocalypse, the prince that was promised. Look up a character called "Ghost of high hearth", I believe alys is going to play a similar role. After seeing the prophecy, Daemon is going to understand the importance of supporting rhaenyra
Good call. Probly the best way to pay off this prophecy thread. Would make me very curious to see how she interacts with a certain other character
I know I felt the same way I just wanted to remain hopeful that possibly there could be some sort of twist but yea you’re correct
considering him and aemon fight there and daemon kills aemon yeah. daemons body was never found.
It was just the girl putting the visions in his head.
Much love to any creator supporting the GOT/HOD + franchises ❤
You think so?? Maybe! I thought the Weirwood trees would have a really nice connection with all this magic stuff since they are linked to visions like when Jaime Lannister wakes up next to one in the books
Been waiting for this one. Keep it up Stark
GameShark I’m like game shark? Why does that sound soo familiar like an old song I used to sing on repeat as a child… wow I feel old 😅
Great Job keep up the goodwork
Been waiting for this gem
What was up with the audio quality of this episode? Felt like it was filmed unerwater 🐠
@Stark-Cinema the actual episode, I stream it on NOW, and it was just that episode, thought my speakers were playing up but defo that episode.
Only the monarch can be called 'your Grace'. Daemon should be named Prince. So Daemon is crossing a line - is it a grab for power? Simon Strong uses the correct term. For example, in the real world, Queen Elizabeth was queen. Her husband was Prince Phillip.
I’m talking about in this series we see queens be called your grace even when there is a king
So it was interesting that it doesn’t go the other way
How do you have a channel and haven’t read the books?!
Game shark! 😂
Oh yeqh gonnq break me off a piece of this
Blazer blazer gamer
You saying, “if you’re old enough to understand” just made me feel super old cause I knew exactly what you were talking about and was surprised that anybody would be “too young to understand” 😭

Clean your room. Also, add a SpongeBob to the corner of the show footage. I wouldn’t want you to have any copyright issues.
That works sometimes but I’ve found the main way is to just use the footage strategically haha
@@Stark-Cinema I thought that you had stretched, cropped, and lowered the resolution on the footage. I was joking about going to an even greater extreme to avoid getting grabbed by the copyright robots.
If you follow the script hbo sent you and follow the guidelines you get to use the footage
So many silly writing decisions because of “rah womanhood?”
Inadvertently making the ladies seem emotional and unfit to have thts power
Episode aired 4 days ago. Little late man. Get it together
Brother are you serious? Do you understand how long it takes to edit these things on my own and get it past copyright? Do you understand I also have other things to do as well?
Also it hasn't even been 4 full days since it aired. I uploaded this on Tuesday almost perfectly 48 hours after the episode went live bro. This gotta be a joke.
Cole is wearing the necklace instead of the pin because he wears armor.. I would have thought that was obvious
Yes, but there’s also symbolism beyond that. Both things can be true. I like to look at things beyond the simple obvious literal nature :)
I thought the battle skip was masterfully done. You just see the look of fear with the SOUNDS of battle quickly fading in, then cut to the aftermath. It was jarring, sudden and brutal, much like how that battle probably felt to those boys
I think they could have shown at least a clash of swords between the brackens and blackwoods , or at least the two guys arguing ! but I kinda figured they would do they skip to aftermath ! I’m not sure it was masterful as it is a very well know thing to do in cinema ! And done quite a lot ! But I assume it was for budget reasons , but they could have gotten rid of that septa scene at the end and used the money from that to have a small skirmish , but again it was a choice they made , that I didn’t really like , but again I understand why they did it ! I respect your opinion on the scene, but i was upset that there wasn’t even a small skirmish between them as their conflict is something alot of book fans find worthy of some exploring !
