Looks like Galuf's World got...ROCKED! Also, rampage in the Merged World in general.

I think the Summoner benefits heavily from having most of its power gated behind optional content. From Shiva all the way to the battle with Bahamut it feels like the developers were heavily conscious of "we have to make these summon spells good or the casual player would be disappointed with the extra hoops we're forcing them to jump through to get them". From the perspective of a casual player - particularly way back in the 90's where a lot of these things could be missed without a game guide - filling out the Summons spell list would be a notable accomplishment. So making them kind of busted is more palatable, much like Knights of Round in FFVII can be permitted to be absolutely broken if you consider how hard they are to get if you aren't aware of them.

Good luck with ur rare steals with Thief. make sure to chocobo a mirage vest and steal 3 more. it will def help. and dont forget the twin lance steals at the bottom of Bal for extra helpful DMG. hope it helps.

Calofisteri is BBW? thats not what they ment by "this monster is Heavy" also i wish u had used Ifrit on Apanda as u would have gotten some extra dialog based stuff. it also basically stun locks Apanda. but meh.

the only time u really find Remora's usefulness is against Enemy Titan. he is legit weak to Remora. u can do that over and over and if ur lucky u can end it w/o Earthshaker.

odin is weak to Shoat/Catoblas. i really was hoping to see this. one summon killing another. but...yeah

-Quite nice how many summons help you defeat later summons. Definitely one of the very best jobs overall. Powerful, versatile with great offense and defense, not very complicated, and encourages doing side content. -It's fun to paralyze Titan with Remora just before you kill him, can skip his deathquake that way. -No holy water at CED, now that's a mistake someone who has done 17 or so runs shouldn't make...Summoner just destroying too hard I guess -The Leviathan kill is even easier breaking thunder rods while wearing hermes sandals, over before a tidal wave can even come out. -Sadly PR Odin randomly picks one of his two attacks without any regard for if the enemies are heavy or not, so he's less useful than in other versions :( -Hali's summon counter sounds physical, but it's magic so Golem can't stop it. -Twin Tania is weak to water, so Leviathan beats Bahamut there and against a lot of rift enemies that have the same weakness. No big deal, but I like to use Catoblepas and stone its weak form instead for a faster kill. -All 4 party members dodging Almagest with probably about 30% magic evade on each person works out to a bit <1% chance overall...makes sense since I've never seen it before! GG -P.S. Agree that boosted rod breaking is stupid good, I have no idea why PR did it. Maybe they were trying to make Red Mage more viable? I can think of multiple other ways to help Red Mages that don't break the game for every other mage too, smh. Looking forward to Thief!

Oh boy these remaining jobs are sure gonna be interesting. Alchemist at least shouldn't be hard as long as you're using a guide, which don't feel bad at all for using cause that job might as well be nonsense without it.

For Archaeoavis you can spam Chocobo on his final phase until Fat Chocobo appears and crushes him

Mr. Buster, are you planning on doing single job challenges in any of the other final fantasy games? I think this format woukd work with several of the others, and the way you present this format is super enjoyable.

Golem: On SNES at least, you can spam Ifrit and win.

In the Golem fight, you couldv'e just flung curatives at the undead enemies.

I ALWAYS skip as many early summons as possible to make the pool for !call better- but then I never use it.

Summoner is probably s or a tier. Everything you need and then some. Never without a use in a regular playthrough. And having capped magic means you always level it for freelancer

I knew summoner would be pretty easy, even without their summons they can rod smash and have the highest int, Golem is also really good for defense.

Blue Mage is really cool and all, but the fact that you basically need a guide (or an obscene amount of time and patience) to find all the blue magic kind of spoils the fun. I really wish there was something included in the game to guide you where and how to get each spell.
