    Currently in the process of replacing mine when I started to tighten in the bolt my engine rotated an inch or two to the right that I remember then i rememebred tigjten the bolt for the engine holder tool. I have not yet to finish the job do you think that's good caused a timing issue on my engine? The moment was very very minimal

    • @JebbreysJibberish
      @JebbreysJibberish 8 днів тому

      To the right or the left? It’s a left hand thread. When the engine turned did you hear any click or clunk or anything? If not you might have got away with it. Unplug the coils and turn it over on the key first to make sure it turns over fine. If it is out the it will lock up but if it doesn’t fire it should be fine as that’s what mine did.

      @JebbreysJibberish so basically when I was prepping up to remove the bolt that holds the supercharger clutch I installed the tool that's supposed to hold the gears in place so it does not move. It was not lining up with the screw hole about an inch away so I had to push the tool to the right side looking at the ending forward from the front of the jet ski if that makes sense I did not hear any noises or any clicks or sounds or anything so I hope I really didn't cause any damage that could affect the timing. I will be putting everything back together I'm testing as you mentioned. Thank you.

    G'day mate, i ran a provent catch can on my isuzu Dmax for about 6 months and was always suspicious of the amount of oil it collected,and also wondered at some of the inconsistensies in the amount it caught, got pissed of with that and took it off and have never looked back since, i went back to the old belief that once you start a motor get it up to proper operating temperature even if you have to do extra kilms to achieve what you need to do, i know its a pain in the arse but in my situation where i live its really paying off, all sensers and air intake pipes, and exhaust lines are free of excess buildup, long story short, every time you use the vehicle get it up to full operating temperature regardless of distance covered, hope this helps.

    Since you have the same bike as me, has it had any bad tranny problems? For mine, when I am in third gear and hit the throttle, it feels like it goes into neutral and auto shifts into 4th gear, so I skip through 3rd now. Just yesterday and today when I hit the throttle in 4th sometimes it will have a scraping sound and shake feeling until I release the throttle. Is that tranny or clutch problem?

      I’ve since sold the Vulcan as I didn’t have the space for it anymore but after 10 years of owning it and nearly 100,000kms on it, it never gave me any hassles with the box. It does sound something is not right with yours though :-(

      @@JebbreysJibberish I gave this a lot of thought as this gear is not involved with anything timing wise I think when you turned the crank the wrong way it loosened the timing chain probably jumping a link when tightening back up??? is this what you found?

    I am a 68 year old lady with a Nissan Elgrand and had a friend mount one of these on the side for me. He mounted it above one of the sliding doors which turns out to be great because you can still get into the car behind it and also take down the little window to get your clothes out of the car. I was worried it was going to be hard to put up as I have very bad shoulders but it was so light and easy to do. I was very surprised on how easy the whole thing was to use

    Great review, We have been looking at hybrids but they all seem to have very short draw bars this camper looks a little longer. If you get a moment could you tell me the distance from the face of the box to the centre of the tow hitch? I drive a cab chassis Ute and the tow bar is tucked under the tray somewhat. Cheers

    I fitted a universal RCC360 kit to my ZD30 Gu Patrol, I'm really not a fan of how much pressure the hoses to & from the catch can put on the plastic crankcase ventilation fittings on both the valve cover and the intake hose, pretty sure if I do some heavy offroading or a long patch of corrugations they're going to crack & snap and the ute won't be driveable with a big hole in the air intake past the MAF. At some point I'm going to have to make a few brackets just to carry the hoses and get them out of the way. And just like you said it makes a bit of a pigsty of the engine bay, the only way I could fit the hoses was to cable tie them to the intake and heater hoses, not ideal. I also have a leaking seal on my valve cover around the #1 injector, its been letting blowby gases leak out and collect oil all over the top of the valve cover and gather as puddles around the injector tops - the only way to replace it is to replace the whole valve cover which sucks - Anyway the point is ever since the catch can's been on it seems like a lot more oil is coming past that seal - to me this suggests that the catch can is increasing the crankcase air pressure, which isn't good..

      Yep. I’m still running no filter in mine. The filters are just too restrictive, I should take it off but figured it probably does something without the filter and shouldn’t be causing too much pressure .

    Mine won't fill! For the life of me I can't figure it out. Installed the outlet onto a tap, hose onto that. Opened the breather turned on the tap and it just airlocks the hose. I can put water in the breather pipe which flows out the tap so it can't be a blockage. Makes no sense!

As soon as I pick it up I will be using Castro RX Super . I have used it in a 1HZ Troopy 580000 km, and recently a 2018 RG Colorado 135000 km . Best diesel oil out there in my opinion.

    Have you tried um Castrol RX Super 14w-40. Also check out the oil API type too, if your motor says to run CI-4 try using the next best CJ-4 which is Castrol RX Super. Then there's the next grade from CJ-4 is the CK-4. Where if you engine used CJ-4 oil the CK-4 can be used. I spoke to some people who have a Hilux the KZN165 models with 450,000kms plus on it and they been using Castrol RX Super, there compression test on the pistons is at 90% which is pretty good.
