    Thanks so much. Great video. Also I would just like to add that channel 30 is for broadcasts. Organizations such as the RFS (rural fire service) use uhf cb channel 30 to broadcast bushfire alerts, local hazard warnings etc. to the community. I always keep channel 30 clear. There's still plenty of general use channels and one of them is bound to be free.
    :)

    'Channel 40 can give you important information like.....speed cameras".....lol....priorities ay!.
    (Just having a dig mate). This is great info, I really like this little series. I don't think anyone has done this yet and it all needs to be known if you own a CB.

      Thank you, interestingly enough I finished filming the repeater episode and then heard two numpties rabbiting on for half an hour on channel 32…. Oh well. And yeah, bloody speed cameras don’t get me started! 🤣

    Not know much about CB ethics, and now starting to use them quite often.
    Thank for a great lesson.
    Cheers

    The biggest issue is people, who clearly have issues with each other, airing it on the CB and not letting others talk., or, broadcasting music non-stop.

      Yes the music thing is just so pointless and annoying.

    Hey Jeff, As a road train driver for over 20yrs I think the most fustrating thing is the lack of respect for channel 40 and it's importance to highway uses.

    • @JebbreysJibberish

      Yea it’s annoying when people use of for a convoy channel and have their kids with handhelds on there etc. quite frustrating !

      @@JebbreysJibberish Xpedition, I started doing some filming of stuff I've been doing but I'm going in for a knee replacement and will be out of action for a few months so figured I'd get stuck in at the end of the year when we go to S.A

    Channel 40 chicken calls sheep calls and just abuse around the cities and great out on the highway as you call a truck ahead to see if it’s safe to come around as I did in the NT going around a triple road train then he call his mate 3 kms in front of him to see if any traffic had past him and had the all clear to over take safely

    • @JebbreysJibberish
      @JebbreysJibberish  2 роки тому +2

      Yeah it’s great on the highway. But in the city most UHF channels are full of idiots. The next video I’m doing will explain how you can filter those guys out too.

    This is a great series...looking forward to the stuff on ctcss and dcs.
    Now about the channel bandwidth, 25kHz to 12.5kHz, I have an older 40 channel unit, does that mean it splatters the corresponding channel between 41 and 80? Its probably around 20 years old and is going great guns.
    Oh, another thing I want to know is can I get a good antenna that adheres to my rear window glass like the AM/FM antennas in cars? I've had enough antennas broken by branches...I want a better solution.

    • @JebbreysJibberish
      @JebbreysJibberish  2 роки тому

      Yes and yes. Break through will be minimal on the 80ch but if you are close to the other station you do risk causing some splatter. That is exactly where CTCSS and DCS will help operators in 80ch units avoid that interference. And yes there are some excellent stick on antennas and from my experience with both of the styles you can buy in Oz they are surprisingly good. I will be doing a video on antennas soon and will talk more about that.
