I brought one of these from Supercheap Auto today, pumped up my 32inch MT in 2mins from flat.
The current draw on the twin ARB is 90Amps😳I have the kings version of yours draws 40amps and is almost as fast
Yes unpacking and packing hot compressors is a pain
Great solution
Kings have a pressure switch built in.
Thanks for the content! Just wanted to mention that although many of these compressors look the same as the Mean Mother (MM) unit, to the best of my knowledge the MM was the first to have that design, this could be an indication that the subsequent brands/models have copied the esthetics but not the working components. For example, I've had my MM unit for 7 years with no issues, nor has the hose degraded. Beware of making assumptions based on the esthetics, comparisons should be based on the working components, which is only possible when performing a tear down of the competing brands. Cheers
yes Jeff, good ideas
have the same comp, as you say, fast, i must put my clamp meter over it see how many amps it pulls

Stu
Yeah good point I should do the same.
4 amps, very little at 10psi ride on mower wheel
Nice. I wonder at 45psi if it would be much different? That’s surprisingly low!
I bought a dual xtm one recently and bcf sent me a recall notice to return it, due to fire issues. Just FYI
😳😳😳 well mines in the single, it will do a search and check to see if it’s included! They do get pretty warm. I imagine the fire risk with the dual would be the cabling because it’s pretty thin even on the single. The good thing about hard mounting it was I shorted the factory thin cable because I only had to reach the relay. Then it goes to my 4g cable to the front of the car from the fuse block.
Great advice again.
I got an old caravan that needs updating, can you do do a 21C version of an 80s van?
I have a friend doing a 1960’s van off grid resto mod. Pretty cool .
"If I liked the video..."??? Loved it! There were some excellent ideas there JJ, thanks again - will be using virtually all of them!
What do you think about fitting an air tank - I've got a 20L unit. The thing that bothers me is having a compressed air tank in the back of the 4x4 - any thoughts? (I have a spot to put it behind the rear seats).
Thank you 🙏 I’ve had tanks before and I wouldn’t be worried but I’ve found by the time you charge the air tank it doesn’t really offer any speed advantage. So I personally wouldn’t bother with the tank.
Any concerns about the starting torque/current draw when starting against an almost fully inflated tyre? I have a Mean Mother which is great & fast like you say. I think they advise starting the compressor under zero load & then connecting to the tyre which is what I currently do when using with the Indeflate. I agonised about buying the ARB Twin but really couldn't justify the cost especially after reading a couple of negative reviews. Finished up purchasing a heavy duty foam lined plastic case from Bunnings as the Mean Mother supplied carry bag was shit.
The XTM seems to restart ok even at 90psi when the pressure switch trips on. Maybe it’s not good for it 🤣 works ok anyway. Probably helps that I shortened the cheapie factory cables when I hooked it up to the relay with decent thickness of cable.
Can you do a caravan update
We are living full time in ours now and other than a water leak in the recent storm (still determining where it came from exactly) things have been going great!
Very informative for the toyota 200 but after that, all I could afford was an old but solid caravan.
I wonder if it’s the aircon that’s the weakest link re leaks
I d like to see one done on an old caravan and see if it possible to still have no leaks when storms hit.
Easy to like your videos
Maybe you will soon 😝
