@@gustavoesquivel6116 You press inward on the color changing rocker to bring up the menu. So the rocker goes up. The rocker goes down and the rocker presses inward to bring up the menu

@@adrian_veidt well, fpga is great for accuracy and it's pretty cool to be able to have this in my hand and be able to play systems like ColecoVision. However, it's often more of a pain in the butt to get set up and emulation works just as good. It really comes down to personal choice. But I hear what you're saying that at $250 analogue pocket can play games about as well as a a $60 emulation handheld.

It could just be a little bit cooler and then we'd like it a lot more. We're not used to getting 90° weather in Portland. We're more of a 60° weather kind of place

I am not, I don't even do a UA-cam shorts. I like to make horizontal videos that I can actually watch on TV and I like to make longer videos. My longer videos are like 12 minutes to half an hour and my short videos are at least 3 minutes long. TikTok and UA-cam shorts are way way shorter than that.

I got a little "Amazon Basics" hdmi to AV converter that only sent me back $6 because it was used. "Best" is subjective and I think it includes value. Well, if you look at the cost of an AES or even a consolized MVS and how much cartridges would cost for 40 games I don't think it would cover the convenience of having a dedicated mini console that is made by SNK. Of course you can also use this as an external controller for other systems like a retropie. I don't have the space to go down the MVS or AES cartridge collecting rabbit hole quite yet. And I can't morally justified the financial cost of Neo Geo cartridges. But for a follow-up video, I'll have to make a spreadsheet of how much it would cost to buy each of these games on eBay. Personally, I'm not a fan of Sony flat tubes. I prefer the look of a JVC D-series because it's got a big old bubble tube and it actually feels more like an arcade Then the flat Sony stuff.

Well, believe it or not I actually filmed these and edited them on my phone. Which is a surprisingly low-tech solution. My other videos are made on my Mac Mini M2 with Final Cut Pro. Another advantage is I can edit them on my breaks at work

Well the company is analogue. And unfortunately, they're they tend to manufacture their products in smaller batches and they tend to encourage a following that people want to buy their high-end stuff as soon as they come out to avoid the fear of missing out. It's a pretty darn good FPGA Super Nintendo But I'm not going to pay $500 for a product that originally sold for $220. One of my local retro video game stores in Portland. Let me borrow it overnight to make this review. Honestly, I hope that the company that made them would reconsider doing another run

Well if you look at my videos from about 4 months back you'll see I used to have a Portland class beard. But they are so freaking many people who make videos on retro video games that have big old beards so it's sort of easy to stand out by just having a mustache. Plus it's easier to show that you're smiling in thumbnails if they can actually see your dimples.

@@therealquinnzack1819 I would pay serious money for a book off branded one. I have never been to a Book off but I've watched enough retro video game UA-cam videos that I know how the jingle goes and it makes me happy to hear it.

Oh I am sure there are some unreleased NES archives out there. I got this cart for $19 on AliExpress and posted a link in the description. Or just track down ROM images for the games/prototypes that sound fun. Bio Force Ape is "Bananas" pun fully intended

Personally it irks me when they don't put in chapter markers in youtube videos, especially for longer ones. It also helps people know what is actually IN you videos. I was like. "I'll just make a quick little video talking about all these games" Well, playing each game for 2 minutes is basically 2 and a half hours so I trimmed it down a bit.

I noticed that after I rendered and uploaded the 10gig video file. Technically they only had 4 games sort of working so it should have been Arcadia IV.

@@deckofcards87 The best portable Master System was actually made by Sega. There is a really good Master System adapter for the Sega Game Gear made by RetroSix. I recently got an LCD modded Game Gear and need to do a video on it soon.

Luckily the with the GameBoy it is truly compatible with all Game Boy systems worldwide. So we don't have to deal with TV standards. I'm currently working on a video and it includes some European NES games and I'm having to switch things up in my system to get them to work correctly. But if it's taking you a long time to find them, then I don't think I'm going to worry much about trying to track down the European releases. I'm happy with my bootleg cart so I can play Ganbare Geoman in English

​@@8bitjoystick Yeah, they are REALLY not common to find, so i consider myself lucky. While i've managed to find the first 3 volumes by either pure luck and in game bundles, i had to import the 4th one all the way from Portugal.

I wish they would make a new NeoGeo min with clicky buttons, no regional differences in games and clean crisp HDMI output.

Well, thank you very much. I try to make at least one good video a week and if I can sometimes I'll have shorter ones mid week, but I do my best to try and make interesting videos. Sometimes they are better than others, but I try.

Are you ready to have your mind blown? The person in the thumbnail is me. A couple years back these image retouching phone apps became all the rage in one of the stupid things they could do was gender swaps so that's what I did. So I took a picture of myself and then ran it through one of the apps and then re-Photoshop my mustache back onto it. What I should've done is kept the hair but put the rest of my face back on because you can't actually tell that it's me. I usually barely use AI tools and nothing for anything creative beyond like auto masking and auto levels but this was one of the only times that I actually used an AI image thing and no one caught on that it was me. That's really freaky.

You know that's actually a really good idea. I'm currently writing a video called "The Secret History of Nintendo, Atari, & Hello Kitty World". It's turning into a much longer video. So your comment inspired me to make a video for next week called: "The BEST way to play NeoGeo! Don't MISS OUT!!". It's going to be about the NeoGeo Arcadestick Pro. I think it is the best mini console ever despite it being pretty big. Then eventually I need to make "Essential NeoGeo Pocket Color: a 2024 Guide". So thank you for your comment and suggestion. And it actually help move me in a different direction on what videos to make next.

So TOTL Games has moved into the building that was home to the Anzen Japanese American grocery store for a great many years. So to celebrate the heritage of this location this I bought a little maneki-neko (招き猫, lit. 'beckoning cat') figurine and gave it to them. They are supposed to bring good luck and welcome people in to spend their money. Awesomely they also have a selection of Japanese, Thai and Korean snacks, as well as Japanese video games and model kits.
