This is a hard but technically impressive and fun Spaceship shooter SHMUP. The origional edition was only released in Japan and Korea and is CRAZY expensive so it is sweet to get this on cartridge!

I got my copy in the mail about a week ago. I love this game, but be forewarned to anyone who hasn't played it yet, it is VERY hard. There is a cheat code printed in the owner's manual for 30 lives, so I recommend that for anyone who hasn't played this game before. At about Stage 4 this game stops messing around with the difficulty. I have a repro of this game and I have it on a flash drive, but I bought this version because I wanted an "official" release with an owner's manual and the 3D slipcover is a nice touch. I beat this game legit a few years back so I'm anxious to see if I can do it again with this copy.
Thank you very much for bringing that to my attention. I played it for my other video and I actually did it a little better than here. But it is a punch you in the gonads difficulty SHMUP. Not complaining but it is not messing around. I would rather have a 30 life code than have to mess with save states.

This game is from an era when video games had no problem being brutally hard-core and it shows. It's good, but it'll punch you right in the gut from the start of the game. the Megadrive had a reputation as a hard-core gamer system in Japan and this reflects that.
I missed the pre-order but wanted this bad enough to buy the re-release off eBay for $110. it's an amazing game so far at 3 levels in but super tough if you loose your power ups your screwed. It's very addicting though and has great gameplay so I'm confident I'll eventually beat it.
Well it's my understanding that Retrobit is going to be selling the standard edition in game stores. I mean the sleeve is nice but I just play the cartridges.
However, buying the limited edition on eBay is fine as long as you enjoy it. Still a hell of a lot cheaper than an authentic Japanese copy that's currently on sale for $1,796.21
