Showing you the real Colombia. No motorbikes in this one - Funnily enough, everywhere in this video is actually beyond the capabilities of even the best off-road motorbike anyway... This is the mountain region of Los Nevados in Risaralda. Normal cars can't get there, off-road Jeeps can almost get there... so you go by foot or on a horse if you want to see this side of Colombia and experience th...

      I have changed it a bit, but I like the fuel away from the exhaust pipe. But yes, tools make sense on the right, for any repairs on the roadside, then you don't have to use the traffic-side bag... for me at least, where we drive on the right.

    Hi. I want to ask all 750gs owners here if you have a problem engaging 2nd gear from 1st to 2nd with the use of the clutch and with the quick shifter. On mine all gears engage really smooth with no effort but 1st to 2nd is just a nightmare and brings the joy of riding down.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit Місяць тому

      I had a similar issue going from 1st to neutral and 2nd to neutral at traffic lights. I mentioned it in my service and they smoothed it out on the diagnostics computer. I assumed it was something electronic rather than mechanical, so maybe yours is the same. Worth checking and asking each time you have a service so they can reset whatever it is they tweak.

    All seems well, but I'd suggest acquiring a second torque wrench to ensure both register the same NM when they click. The torque wrench isn't meant for loosening; a breaker bar is typically used for that task when done by hand. It's probable that your torque wrench is out of calibration. Manufacturers of high-quality torque wrenches usually advise annual recalibration, especially with frequent use and they will re-certify the tool. Regarding the 110NM, it's wise to adhere strictly to the manufacturer's specifications. The rider's manual specifies 100NM without a tolerance of +5% or -5%. This underscores the importance of respecting the tensile strength of the bolt. Other than that, good video and thank you for sharing.

    • @MotoBrit

      Yes, more or less. It's no secret that BMW made the same bike for two different purposes, the 750 for on-road, and the 850 for off-road. Exact same engine, just some small mods with suspension and a few features. That's what happens when you let the marketing team walk through the factory!

      I have the 850 with the Esa, I'm sure the front suspension is adjusted automatically in line with the rear, just under the top of the forks there's a cable to each fork tube, similar to that seen on top of ktm forklegs, I read it stops fork dive etc and squat on the rear, currently in the middle of a 2 up 800 mile trip and I'm quite impressed as is my mate who is pillion around 13 stone.

    I'm a bit late for the sound check, but sorry, i don't like the Remus sound. Good weight loss though. I have never heard an after market muffler on a BMW sound better than the original. Including an Akrapovic. I put a Remus on an F800 GT a long time ago and while OK, was not great. Currently riding a 1200 GSA with an Akrapovic, without baffles and it's OK but not as good as the OEM muffler. Might be giving it a bit more oomph though.

    So its the second time I get this issue on my F850GS, five months ago I took it to the dealership (Still under warranty) and they told me that it was just a configuration problem on one of the fuel sensors and gave it back to me a couple of days later, now I get the same error again, limited power, choppy riding, and unreliable behavior. Thank you for your video, now I can tell the local dealership of this findings since clearly they dont really want or know how to take care of it. I had this exact problem on my 2019 R1250GS a week ago. Bike only has 23,000kms on it. Luckily I was only 3kms from home. Local BMW dealer diagnosed a faulty throttle position sensor which they have had to order from Germany. Gday. I appreciate the comment, thanks. It's 16 inches. I'm 5'9" and in my opinion it's the right height. I get no wind buffering and I can see over it when riding.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit 4 місяці тому

      Was probably in Dynamic. Wasn't heavy rain, but the wet caused the road painted sign to be slippy. And I probably accelerated as I was going over it. Just a quick slip, nothing too dangerous.

      +@mrbjay5443... It's a 16" clear screen from Madstad. You can only buy them direct from Madstad engineering, and they make them specifically for BMWs by year and model.

    Nice video! I found this channel a while ago because of the throttle issue that affected my 2021 F750 GS and I subscribed. I am glad to see that you are enjoying the bike. I also released a video today: ua-cam.com/video/u2m5xuYLErs/v-deo.html. Please check it out and let me know what you think. Greetings from Costa Rica

    Is your brake and clutch lever broken? Dropped my bike both sides on the grass to practice picking it up, and both levers broke. So, those hand guards would need to be changed out if you like your levers the way they are. Expensive to replace, so worth buying Barkbusters.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit 6 місяців тому

      Just my brake lever is broken. Dropped it in my driveway after 2 or 3 days from brand new. The tip snapped off, so been using it like that ever since. Yes, the guards are quite useless really. Just for show to enhance the color scheme.

      I totally agree. The surrounding towns are very beautiful. And yes, probably the most beautiful women in the world, too... but not just in looks, but also the polite and hospitable culture. Everyone has this friendly nature, it has to be experienced to be believed. Taxi drivers, bag backers, strangers in a queue... everyone loves a polite conversation when you visit Pereira.

    I write this from the comfort of my couch in Scotland. Just over a week ago I was on a rented 750 GS (2022) in the middle of Argentina. Literally 100 miles from nothing on the Ruta 40 and it just died. Same warning, no power, no phone signal nothing. "riding slowly to a specialist BMW " was about as ridiculous a message as I could of read. I switched it off and started it and it ran like shit consuming loads of fuel. I used up my spare 9 litres getting to a town on reserve. Genuine flap was on. Filled with fresh fuel and it ran fine. A week previous, it failed to start in the middle of the Atacama desert in Chile. Adventure bikes cannot be failing like this in the wild. That's their job, to get you through these places but companies know that heading out of town for a Latte doesn't present real problems. That was a couple of pant shitters for me.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit 7 місяців тому

      Wow. That's an extra adventure you didn't need!! Thanks for sharing. It's just as important to know about what goes wrong out there on the road, as well as what goes right. I guess you'll be switching to the Triumph Tiger then for your next adventure! 😄 All the best. 👍🏻
