      Thanks, gee cee ... yeah, I was pleased with the composition. I cut a lot out to just move the 'story' along to the finale of arriving. Which I'm learning is the secret to a good video rather than just random riding. My aim is to simply change the image of Colombia, one video at a time. Appreciate the feedback as always, Thanks again.

    I use to follow Itchyboots for a long time, however I did not like what Norely showed about Colombia, a few trails and just the poor side of the cities she visited, but you my friend just earned a follower, because you have seen really more about Colombia, not just a quick flyby. Please keep doing these videos!!

    Been watching itchy boots from the start.. was a coincidence that she visited the church of Las Lajas ( think that was the name) shortly after I watched you visiting there.. and now on same river crossing. Dream roads and countryside for bike riding 👍

      I came across her about a year ago, riding somewhere in the middle east I think, I didn't subscribe, but I have now. A week ago a friend sent me a link of her riding into Colombia from Ecuador... I think it was that video also showing Las Lejas, too. You know what... I laughed... She even parked her bike with the same lady I parked with a few months before. Just a random shop owner near the Sanctuary - huge coincidence. I'd love to meet her.

    You go 50 plus years and never see a video of a motorcyclist in the Colombian desert and then 2 come along in a week, how bizarre. Great video

    Just subscribed to your channel. Love the videos of Columbia,a place I’ve always wanted to visit but the reputation of the past has kept me away. After your positive light of Columbia I’m beginning to change my mind. Beautiful country and people! I came across your channel when I was reviewing the BMW 750GS and after I watched 1 video instantly subscribed! You definitely should have a larger audience! Than your for making these and letting us see Columbia. I will continue watching with delight! Cheers!

      Thank you for all those kind and encouraging words. Yes, Colombia is a beautiful country; underestimated and often misunderstood. Hollywood and Netflix continue to make money from the country's past troubles, keeping the old reputation alive, but the people are very friendly, very ambitious and very motivated to make the world see the country for what it is... Amazing, with so much potential. And I'm doing my bit, through the eyes of an immigrant, one video at a time! And yes, I'm also surprised I don't have more subscribers, haha. But I'm very grateful for those I do have, and I'll do my best to keep the videos coming. Thanks again.

    Great video. I would certainly love to hear my Scrambler through some of those tunnels.
    Funny - while I was watching I thought “that looks like the same area itchyboots went through not long ago”. Then you went ahead and confirmed it.
    That desert of beautiful though. Great place to ride and camp.
    Liked and subbed. 👍

    I alighted on your channel a few days ago while looking for F750 reviews and over the subsequent evenings found myself drawn to watching your entire output so far (well, guitar playing not so much, tbh 😁). My impression of Coumbia had until now been formed on the back of its rather violent past - 30 years out of date, as you have made clear, but only the day before yesterday in my mind. A wonderful looking country and hopefully you will be showing us more of it in due course. I've been quietly impressed with the bike, too - if it could be fitted with the spoked wheels that come with the F850 it would be even better.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit  3 роки тому +2

      Thanks, Len. I appreciate the feedback. I'm trying to change the image of Colombia "one video at a time." It's become a bit of a mantra actually. Thankfully I do far more riding than I do guitar playing nowadays!! And yes, spoked wheels are far better, I've come close to changing them, but I don't go too mad off-road, so I can live with the mouldies for a bit longer. The 850 was just that touch too high for me, and I didn't want to have the lowered seat option. I sometimes wish I had gone for it, but I've probably had far less falls on this bike, at slow speed, through mud etc, than I would have had on the 850 by not being able to plant my foot firmly. So yeah, overall it's the right choice for me. Thanks again for watching all the vids, really great to hear they've been received as intended. Plenty more coming. Just bikes! 😄

    I love it. Watching was relaxing and enjoyable.
    I find it strange that the wide mountain highways in the beginning of the clip are not two ways,. What’s the logic behind building the opposite track in a different location.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit  3 роки тому +1

      +Firass Hathout ... Thanks for the kind compliment. yes, they basically built a whole new two lane road. I'm going to do a video soon on the route back as that's the 'new' road. It's like a two lane race track, it's quite amazing. I've never seen anything like it anywhere else. The logic I suppose is to separate the opposing traffic to reduce time. It's definitely working.

    Very nice video, I quite enjoyed it! As an itchy Boots fan, I thought that route to the ferry looked familiar! A couple questions, what was that food you had early in the video? (I’m always interested in the local food) Also was wondering how the vision is using those Double Take mirrors. I was planning on adding the bigger ones to my bike, but those look great. Stunning scenery, thanks for taking us with! It looks like you’re really enjoying the GS.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit  3 роки тому

      Hi Pat... thanks for the comments. I'm going to do some food specific videos actually, as I want to promote that as well. Some of the truck restaurants serve big portions across about 4 plates, and really cheap. Funnily enough, I decided to just do 'music montage' of my lunch in that video, as it wasn't as good as usual. But it was nice enough to quickly show. It was steak, rice salad and 'patacones'... sliced and fried green platanos, similar to bananas. But I'll definitely be doing some vids on food, and hopefully including them too on similar journeys too. The wing mirrors are great. You just have to really tighten them with a wrench as they catch the wind at higher speeds. But very happy with the visibility and durability.

    Many ?
    Cost of living?
    Price for gas?
    Cost for housing?
    Awesome video as always.

    • @MotoBrit
      @MotoBrit  3 роки тому

      +Tom G... hi Tom, many what? Gas is reasonable I think, I don't know cost per litre, but we fill the SUV for around $25... my bike for about $10. Housing costs vary, but in my city you can get a nice 3 br house in a gated community with pool, gym etc for around $40,000. Cost of living... much cheaper than US and UK, you can live comfortably on $2,000 monthly. You'd get by on $1,000.
