Actually the science shows that having a diet where one has little to no carbohydrates and UPS the salt in the diet, things like high blood pressure and diabetes both get better…. A lot better! This is not advice I give but is instead something for people to research for themselves what I stated here. While eating a diabetic friendly diet of 150 carbs per day, my A1C rose to 10.2 and while cutting salt My blood pressure went to as high as 210 over 120…. HOWEVER…. Resently while on a Keto/Carnivore Diet for only the last 4 months, my A1C has gone down to 8.2 and my High Blood Pressure went down to 111/62…. And guess what, eating salt has increased!!! My Husband calls me a salt lick!!! So….. I know many of the Main Stream docs are just saying what they are told to say from big pharma to help sell more BP pills…… but I am NOT a doctor and I was able to easily find online for myself that eating MORE salt and eating LESS carbs, was the answer to better health!!! The more I know about the Lp(a), the more I think it’s a B.S. - they did not even standardize how it’s measured and depending what antibodies are used to test it can give you higher or lower value… this comes across when the same individual measures it multiple times and you find that it actually fluctuates wildly - like, for example, 118 nmol/l to 190 nmol/l - and this is for something that supposed to be genetically determined and that’s argued that it’s “the same number” your entire life… very suspect!

I have had significant swelling in left ankle and foot. I discovered that it was side effect to medication I was using then I stopped it with doctor's permission. Then swelling went down quite a bit. Unfortunately I didn't give up smoking until I was diagnosed with HF & AF so I haven't felt the benefits of quiting. I started smoking when I was just thirteen years of age, back then it seemed like almost every one smoked, teachers, Doctors, nurses, filmstars, rockstars. We could even smoke on wards in hospitals. What a waste. I feel as though my life is over & I'm only 59. I have beautiful daughter & 4 year old grandaughter who I love so very much but don't think im going to be around much longer for them. How do you tell a 4 year old little girl that they won't be seeing their Nanny again & who will protect them when I'm gone.

My nurse practitioner recommended a CT scan just out of pure curiosity after my LDL came up 100. The CT scan revealed 10% for a woman my age +60 and the carotid skan revealed no calcium or no swishing sounds. She treats me like a athero sclerosis patient. I am not impressed by her.

Dont statins cause your h1ba1c levels to go up? ive spoken to a lot of heart attack patients and they all said they went from pre diabetic to nearly or close to it, even though they eat healthy, excericsed, aren't overweight ( that include me).

Wish I saw this back in 2020.....I had ALL 5 When I was diagnosed with heart failure by my cardiologist...

Got all symptoms not the swelling tho. Still I have passed tests.
