Yes, I smoke until 42 years old with the assistance of patches. I'm 60. Haven't been back 9n them. Now trying to convince my 41year old son to quit. It's hard but I won't give up.

I smoked seven cigarettes per day for two years. I quit cold turkey 14 years ago, and have never looked back. What helped me was watching a UA-cam documentary on the health consequences of smoking. ⚕⚕

Unfortunately I didn't give up smoking until I was diagnosed with HF & AF so I haven't felt the benefits of quiting.
I started smoking when I was just thirteen years of age,
back then it seemed like almost every one smoked, teachers, Doctors, nurses, filmstars, rockstars.
We could even smoke on wards in hospitals.
    What a waste.
I feel as though my life is over & I'm only 59.
I have beautiful daughter & 4 year old grandaughter who I love so very much but don't think im going to be around much longer for them.
How do you tell a 4 year old little girl that they won't be seeing their Nanny again & who will protect them when I'm gone.

Thank you, Doctor. I am a 23y male. For few months I have having a dull ache/ discomfort in left chest. It is present there all the time at different locations, sometimes mid of left chest other times on sides of left chest. Also sometimes a momentary sharp pain in chest and other times in the upper back behind chest. ECG/ Echo/ Blood tests are normal but the pain or discomfort is troubling my lifestyle. Any recommendations? My Dr mentioned it is because of anxiety but then why does it happen only to the left side and also that 1-2 second pain how that comes? I am confused and worried.

Same. At times it spreads across my chest at others, it's localized around the left side, particularly where the heart cavity is placed, occassionally followed by tightness and brief heart spasms.

Smoked for almost 30 years Quit 5 years ago. Became a sprint tri athlete, weight trained, was on no medications, no supplements but my cholesterol was a little high. Heart attack and double bypass at 48, doctors blame it on the cigarettes, I agree but diet’s the missing link.

Yes smoking is not good for you, nicotine does not cause any more health problems than everyday life in the modern world, but it is addictive, but tar is very bad for the lungs, and so are many of the other chemicals in cigarettes and that goes for the the environment today, they have just as bad an effect as smoking but they are in the environment. It’s like drinking to excess , is also not good for you; too much sugar, too much of near anything can be regard as not good for you. There is no empirical conclusive evidence that smoking is the sole reason or even 95% of the reason for cancer and or heart disease. There is just too many variables to make any such claims. Yes of course it’s a probable contributor, but as said, there are near an infinite number of other possible factors or veriables in everyday life which can be just as influential to such conditions. The only reasonable scientific ish claim anyone can have is that it is a highly "probable" its an active participant to the said illness or condition! An as for the hypocrisy to say, it can alter the DNA, haha so can many others too. thats rich coming from the medical corner who pushed the MRNA jabs for Covid 19 , which alters the RNA ; Covid 19 does not exist never has done, as in, no one has ever seen an isolated, purified example for the said virus = covid 19. But they miraculously, they somehow managed to build a so called vaccine which attacks the fantasy virus, no one has ever seen; now that is a miracl! But anyway, end of little rant!! lol.

@normski262 Yes, vaping works, but laws banning purchase online caused me to go back to cigarettes. Within 2-3 weeks of switching to vaping I was able to walk up 3 flights without getting out of breath. I've talked to young people who smoke and said they'd be better off vaping, and they tell me they're "too afraid" of it. Yes, we want young people to put nothing in their lungs but air, but vaping is 100x safer, if not 1000x safer.

@@AliceR27 Mad as it sounds, the truth is there are some very powerful groups who just want to make as much money as they can, and they will spin any fantasy story they can to swing you one way for the other, hahah Health is the very last thing on their minds regard you or anyone else. Very, corrupt sick world..
