Booking for the Sickos is used for certain matches. The rest is for a GA audience. For kids at shows this past all out I had a 12 year old girl screaming for blood. WWE caters to children plain and simple. AEW is for older demographic they’ve made that clear. WWE treats is audience like it has amnesia sorry but why are you recapping what we just saw 5 mins ago? AEW does do backstory do they do it before every single match? No and thank goodness but they do recaps and people LISTEN TO XCALIBUR!!!!! That man runs down the entire storyline for you. Does AEW have room to improve? Of course the company is 5 years old soon to be 6 they are finding their footing and still what works without being WWE light which it seems these two want. AEW is the alternative to WWE that’s what it set out to be. As far as casuals go to cater exclusively to them id stop watching AEW cause then they’ve just become WWE. As for the misogyny in the fandom ladies look into AEW heels it’s a community for Female presenting fans and it’s a great community.

I’ve been watching wrestling since I was 7 (I’m coming up on 26 in January so almost 20 years at this point), my absolute best friend in the entire world is a pro wrestler and our entire lifelong friendship started because of our shared love of wrestling, I’m definitely a lifetime fan. Even with that, there was a point in time where I had totally dropped out of WWE outside of the one of Raw when I actually had free time as a teenager. Not one key moment that stands out as to why, just a real lack of anything I could even pretend to care about on the show. Thankfully, I’ve only ever really known a time where when WWE was never ever giving me what I wanted out of wrestling I had other promotions giving me exactly what I wanted and it kept me from ever stopping my love of wrestling (in high school I was an avid ROH, PWG, and New Japan fan. By college it was the golden era of NXT and the beginning of AEW and I never looked back).

For me the thing that made me tune out was dean ambrose leaving. He was my favorite wrestler and he wasn't being booked well at that time. When he left there really wasn't a real reason to watch anymore, I still kept up by watching news and clips but never tuned in to the weekly shows until i got invested into sami zayn and the bloodline, then I started watching again and I'm so glad i did.

The IWC and Wrestling MEdia has done so much to suck all the fun and joy out of wrestling. Like none of them would actually go to a wrestling show, turn to the stranger next to them and say. Yeah, I don't know they didn't tell a good enough story or sell enough on an amazing match the literal whole arena is going wild for. You'd never say that!

Not shocking as thats who they look up to more often that not. Wrestlinv is a very "look at me" business.

That's wwe marketing for you. They recite the samw stuff over and over again until you find yourself parroting those phrases online. Making them go even more viral. Thats why wwe isnt for me anymore. They dont want you to debelop yoir own tastes and opinions... they want to guide everyone into saying the same thing so tbat the brand gets stronger. Sadly. It works for a fanbase this dumb.

Every so often, a glimmer of light shines through in wrestling conversations on the internet. The other day, there was a Reddit post kayfabe asking if Japanese wrestlers should have their ink glands removed to protect their opponents from the dangers of The Mist, and it was everything I love about wrestling. Just a whole post written from the incredibly absurd world of kayfabe, and a ton of folks in the comments giving their kayfabe opinions; everyone was immersed in the world of silly stories and athletic stunt shows, and it put a huge smile on my face.

Thanks for answering my question. I always appreciate your perspective on stuff because you seem to have a good head on your shoulders and a good mindset about stuff. I'm glad that you haven't let yourself get dragged into the negativity and tribalism in the fanbase. It's sad because it seems like the people who spread that stuff don't even really enjoy the products they watch and just want to be negative or rude. I can't fathom spending that much time focused on something I don't like rather than enjoying the things that I do.
