I think the people who are saying that there was no story line progression in the women's match are missing the background noise. I'd put money on that we're going to have the reveal that the one who attacked Jade was Bayley. I think she's doing some background skullduggery to get back toward gold, and we can set up the eventual match between Jade and Bianca, since Bianca replaced Jade with the person who pulled her out of the match. Heck, that might even wind up on the Wrestlemania card. Just saying.
The eyes are already on Bayley. It seems too obvious. My guess is Naomi as she was also the other person alongside Bayley who was first on the scene. Together with Belair and Cargill, they're nicknamed the big 3, but I can see her not wanting to take the backseat anymore and in the words of Kendrick Lamar: "Motherfuck the big 3 nigga, it's just big me".
I had to watch SS on a delay because of work, and because of that I stayed off social media so I wouldn’t be spoiled. I thoroughly enjoyed this whole show, until I went back online and had all of the internet screaming at it that I was wrong. Moral of this story, nobody should have that much sway over you that you suddenly feel dumb for liking what you liked. If you didn’t like it, fine, but don’t look down on fans that do.
I’m noticing a lot of mixed opinions on the Women’s Wargames Match. I personally really enjoyed it, especially IYO’s moments with the fire extinguisher and trash can. As for the rest of the PLE, I really enjoyed everything else A LOT. Except for Gunther vs. Priest, I didn’t even watch the first half because the rivalry is so stale. But everything else was great! And to those MARKS saying Josh is fanboying, it’s amazing to me how you can’t let other people be happy. Go back into your mom’s basement. Anyway, great show! 4.75 stars!

While it's hard to completely ignore the loudly called spots/botches/weak chairshots of the women's match, it doesn't really matter in the end and it was definitely a fun night overall. Keep fighting the good fight!
I think the main reason they'd move Jade out of the match and the US tournament is that either she has to win or she looks weak. If she's set up to be involved but gets "taken out" then she looks like a star but gets to keep her invincible aura. They've done ithat with Jacob, Gunther, and Bron Breakker in the past. Works pretty well, I think.
Pro wrestling is like a tree. The roots are tradition, and from there the evolution of it begins; we see great strength, speed, athleticism, intelligence, ect begin to branch out more, and the leaves we see come and go, each being unique, showing true "character". The one thing on the Bayley Jade point, is if you listen closely, Bayley quarterbacked the whole match inside the cages. She was kind of loud with her calls (probably wouldnt be able to tell but they had a camera man in the ring), but Bayley was definitely necessary in order to keep flow going and set up spots for the other girls.
With my watch group, we didn't really react to LAs entrance because he just did a normal walk down the ramp after Shinsuke just put on a WWE2k cinematic entrance with incredible entrance gear. LA got outshown hard from the second he walked past guerilla. Not to mention he accidentally dropped the title when entering the ring. I can't blame the crowd for not going crazy for his entrance when they just saw a way cooler more exciting one
Nakamura is probably the one and only person I'm happy with taking the title from LA Knight. I've been a fan of his since I started watching, and I'm glad he's finally getting a push. And his new look is awesome. I don't see him having a long title reign simply because his English isn't great, but I'm glad he got it, and I'm excited to see what they do with Knight moving forward.
The thing about LA Knight decybel isn’t that he’s not getting the same crowd reactions, he is. But this crowd specifically was bad. Just look at Jey entrance. Held the arena was sitting down
While builds to matches like the Women's War Games matches can often seem just thrown together randomly, I thought this one made a lot of sense. Belair and Jade had bad blood with Liv and Raquel already and have had recent run-ins with Nia and Tiffany. Not to mention Rhea's feud with Liv. IYO is the #1 contender to Liv's title and Bayley & Naomi have had issues with Nia, Tiffany and Candice for a good while now.
As for Jade, I have mixed opinions here. If you look at Bianca's/ Bayley's spots they didn't do anything absolutely incredible in this match, I thought Tiffany and Iyo stole the show for sure. At times I forgot Bianca was even the match. I'm having trouble believing she 'wasn't match ready' because a War Games match is a perfect match where the spotlight gets spread between so many wrestlers. She's already on the WM 41 poster - it has to be story related or she may actually picked up some sort of injury she needed to rest. It doesn't make sense to me to even star her in the match if she wasn't ready, and they had to do something to get her and Bianca out of the US Title bracket. There's a lot up for debate here
Anyone that interacts with The Bloodline sky rockets their popularity. I’ve never liked CM Punk , and I’ve watched wwe since 1996 nonstop. But now I’m really digging Punk once he has been input into the bloodline story line 🎉
I enjoyed the dynamic Punk and Roman had the entire match. It was cool to see Roman skeptical of this outsider, only for Punk to ultimately save him, and earn his respect. Good stuff
Some points for saying it was “your” scale, too many ratings systems don’t understand that. Second there was something missing, William Regal saying, “WarGames!” We need that back. And one spot in particular, Iyo Sky and a trash can off the top of cage, has been six straight years, and a WarGames tradition at this point. It’s seems like this isn’t a WarGames like it isn’t a Royal Rumble without Kofi Kingston doing a crazy spot save.

Survivor series was a nothing of a show. If you didn't watch and needed catching up the us title changed hands and Naomi is a year older. It was an eventless event.
That's exactly how I felt between the botches Nia barely hitting people and just a plain old men's war games match that hardly furthered the storyline , I stitched over to college football it was more entertaining for sure @@darththor3982
Honestly it was a throwaway PLE for me, the only saving grace was seeing Punk interact with the two bloodlines. I don't like the idea of having two matches of the same type for men and women I think it only hurts the second match, the same applies for the Royal Rumble, Elimination Chamber and everything else that is doubled. Have unique stipulations for men and women that would be a lot more interesting in my opinion
Considering Nakamura turned heels some months back then lost dam near ever match after that and the fact that his contract is not ending any time soon, it wouldn't been Career Suicide for him to lost that match. So I KNEW he was going to win this match lol
My theory, the WWE will go ahead with the Punk/Rollins match at WrestleMania 41 that we didn't get at WrestleMania 40. Punk's favor is he will ask Heyman to be in his corner. Roman will have a big match against Solo or The Rock or someone else & be upset that hayman is "dividing his focus". This may eventually be set up for a Punk/Roman match down the road
Honestly for me ... I think that Survivor Series is probably the best example of a show superceding expectations. Going into the show I wasnt exactly excited for the show, it wasnt a case of feeling that the card was bad or anything, it was just a case of nothing really being all too appealing outside of the Men's Wargames match. But when the show took place, every match in my opinion surpassed my expectations by a country mile. Over the weekend I said that the card from best to worst was: 1. IC Title Triple Threat 2. Men's Wargames 3. Women's Wargames 4. Knight vs Nakamura 5. Gunther vs Priest I say that, I think I might have to switch my one and 2 around bases on what happened on Raw. Part of me feels that might be cheating a little bit though.
I was there live. It was my first live PLE as they haven't had one in Vancouver since In Your House '98. Overall I thought it was a really good show. Definitely saw some botches in the women's match, like Nia just gently tapping Bailey and Naomi with the chair. Still a really fun match with a lot of cool spots. Shinsuke vs Knight, and the IC title match were both fantastic. I'm really glad to see Shinsuke back, and I really hope they let him shine this time around, because overall for such a talented performer, he's been kinda wasted through the years IMO. Was kinda disappointed to see Sheamus lose, because I really do wanna see him become a GSC before he retires, but Bron is also a really good IC Champ so far. Priest vs Gunther was okay but really slow. And I agree, when Finn came out I kinda sighed because I knew where it was going. I do wanna see Priest in a championship role because he's been working his ass off, but I don't know how I feel about him going after Gunther AGAIN right now. Main event was incredible. Loved the tension between Roman and Punk, not knowing if someone was gonna turn until the very end. Bronson going to the top of the cage was insane to see. The last second save by Punk. The chain of finishers at the end. Just a phenomenal match to get to see in person. Got to be part of my very first live Roman Reigns OOOH AAAH. Just an insane night overall. I was expecting a bit more at the end, especially with how long they dragged out them walking back up the ramp. And I'm assuming that the favour with Heyman is going to be something involving Rollins.
When talking about overall Entrance/Ring gear, I think the standard term is "apparel". If you wanted to talk specifically about entrance gear you would say entrance gear though
All those women are so freakin talented! I really need more stories from their division. I hope Iyo wins and gets screwed by Tiffany so we can get that feud. Iyo vs Rhea would also be great. I think Rhea vs Liv story should end now.
My first impulse is that Punk wants backup the next time he goes up against either Seth Rollins or Drew McIntyre. Or he needs Hayman to arrange a trap for one of them. Because that beef aint squashed. Perhaps he wants to find some way to take out both of them at once and he can't be in 2 places at once. He could want Hayman to arrange the services of Roman and/or his Bloodline in this.OR if you really want to reach for the future,Punk wants Hayman to call in the Rock and this is going to facilitate his return to the story closer to WrestleMania. That is of course assuming that Hayman is in contact with the Rock at all but I think that's a good assumption that the Rock is maneuvering behind the scenes when he isn't on screen. And we don't really know where Paul was while he was off the show.

The Women's war games match was so damn good! Great PLE overall. I honestly have no idea what the favor is. I don't think it'll be as simple as "get me a match against Roman."

The match was not good it could have been way better but all the women’s wrestling fans don’t want good wrestling they just want what the men get. Screw if it’s actually good just as long as they are on equal footing at all points we’ll take it and eat it up.
Jade wasn't pulled from the match for "not being ready" or whatever people are saying, that's ridiculous, the injury was story driven, its a "who did it" angle and that's why that happened. Idk if you've seen my other comments about LA Knight, but I'm glad he lost, the botches etc, but I will say it shocked me in the moment, but thinking about it, yeah I'm not surprised I really expected Sheamus to pin Ludwig and finally win the IC title, wasn't rooting for him per say, just how I though it was going, regardless that was a great match Unhappy with Balor getting involved, that's all I really have to say about this one. The only way I see this going in Gunther vs Balor at Saturday Night's Main Event, if I had to guess where/when My thoughts on the favor is that Paul Heyman goes back to Punk, leaving Roman Reigns.
I think the Paul’s favor to cm pink will be helping him get close to the rock using Roman. Cm punk has a strong hatred for the rock for taking his wrestlemania main event and that’s the only thing I can see him gaining from this. Maybe instead of rock vs Roman at wrestlemania, Roman will step down and cm punk will take his place
Agreed, there was no need for boring improperly used war games cages for women's or the men's . This was just a ple that dragged the BL storyline passed it. Everyone glazing it like ohhh look cm punk and roman are staring at each other wow soo amazing come on not even a single bit of blood
Boring but I think the Plan A is just a match (with no interference) with Roman if/when he wins the undisputed title. I do think Plan B is open ended to where they'd pivot if something else comes up
The Damian Priest vs Gunther match was ruined for me because of Finn Balor, no offense to these three but the whole set up for this match was Gunther didn't beat Damian clean at Summerslam and is having confidence issues, having Finn interfere kinda defeats both purposes and I'm not really interested in seeing Damian Priest vs Finn Balor or Gunther again even though Damian Priest is my favorite WWE wrestler
The women’s wargames was horrible just spot on spot with no story at all to build it up. Iyo could have died if she slipped up there and fell to the left or right just stupidity. If there isn’t a story don’t do a WARGAMES the angle is what makes it not just having the match. We don’t need a horrible women’s match showcasing bad women’s wrestling just for the sake of “representation and fairness” This is why the HIAC has been taken off of being an annual PPV hope we see that with this. Nakamura vs LA Knight was good I like LA so I didn’t care for the finish but I heard Nakamura is going over to Japan with the belt to do promotion for Netflix and stuff so I understand why he has it. Damian Priest really brought it he always get me into his matches because he’s hard hitting and next to Gunther you really gotta hit hard and he brought the fire. The 3 way overall was fire I love me some Kaiser so I was rly enjoying this happy Bron is gonna keep on killing it. The men’s wargames was just fire everything leading up to it was so good to hype us up for it.
I agree that the CM Punk favor is gelp with Seth Rollins. There was some big foreshadowing here, though. After the win the guys circled up around cm punk, not roman. At the top of the ramp Punk stepped into the center of the group shot. At the press conference...no Roman Reigns.
I wanted Seth Rollins to be in Punk's place but I think that will happen at some point in the future. I think they're saving that for when/if Dean Ambrose ever returns to the wwe.
glad you enjoyed it. Besides from the roman punk tease I didn't really find anything all that interesting in the show as a lot of this felt like filler as WWe continue to tell the same fueds until the royal rumble. with all this being said I am interested to see the upcoming heel turn for Punk, I am just unsure when HHH will pull the trigger which is a good thing
Man for a channel that talks so much about no tribalism this is really reaching some next level of fanboyism. The women´s match was one of the worst executed matches I have ever seen it was just botch after botch. About the other stuff. What story progression happened? Rhea beating Liv again? Sheamus failing to win the IC title again? Priest getting screwed by Balor again? This is jsut filler like every PLE not named SummerSlam or WrestleMania is in this era. What else happened? Io did the same contrieved spot that she always does. In the main event they build some tension between the faces just to have they beat the big bad like they always do. It is always the same stuff. Besides the match structure of the main event is completly non coherent with the build. This a Wargames grudge match between two big factions and instead of having a violent brawl they just do some regular wrestling moves. This is not wargames.

I was not looking forward to the women’s match, and it blew my expectations completely out of the water. It was such a joy to watch.

I was there live. It was my first live PLE as they haven't had one in Vancouver since In Your House '98. Overall I thought it was a really good show. Definitely saw some botches in the women's match, like Nia just gently tapping Bailey and Naomi with the chair. Still a really fun match with a lot of cool spots. Shinsuke vs Knight, and the IC title match were both fantastic. I'm really glad to see Shinsuke back, and I really hope they let him shine this time around, because overall for such a talented performer, he's been kinda wasted through the years IMO. Was kinda disappointed to see Sheamus lose, because I really do wanna see him become a GSC before he retires, but Bron is also a really good IC Champ so far. Priest vs Gunther was okay but really slow. And I agree, when Finn came out I kinda sighed because I knew where it was going. I do wanna see Priest in a championship role because he's been working his ass off, but I don't know how I feel about him going after Gunther AGAIN right now. Main event was incredible. Loved the tension between Roman and Punk, not knowing if someone was gonna turn until the very end. Bronson going to the top of the cage was insane to see. The last second save by Punk. The chain of finishers at the end. Just a phenomenal match to get to see in person. Got to be part of my very first live Roman Reigns OOOH AAAH. Just an insane night overall. I was expecting a bit more at the end, especially with how long they dragged out them walking back up the ramp. And I'm assuming that the favour with Heyman is going to be something involving Rollins.

My thought on the favor is CM Punk will “cash in” his favor and have Roman help him win against Seth Rollins
All those women are so freakin talented! I really need more stories from their division. I hope Iyo wins and gets screwed by Tiffany so we can get that feud. Iyo vs Rhea would also be great. I think Rhea vs Liv story should end now.
Cm Punk is going to call on Paul Heyman for the favor of getting Punk the Number 30 spot in the Royal Rumble.
My first impulse is that Punk wants backup the next time he goes up against either Seth Rollins or Drew McIntyre. Or he needs Hayman to arrange a trap for one of them. Because that beef aint squashed. Perhaps he wants to find some way to take out both of them at once and he can't be in 2 places at once. He could want Hayman to arrange the services of Roman and/or his Bloodline in this.OR if you really want to reach for the future,Punk wants Hayman to call in the Rock and this is going to facilitate his return to the story closer to WrestleMania. That is of course assuming that Hayman is in contact with the Rock at all but I think that's a good assumption that the Rock is maneuvering behind the scenes when he isn't on screen. And we don't really know where Paul was while he was off the show.
Punk isn't the type to ask for backup in a singles feud. Faces wouldn't do that anyway. That's a Miz style approach.

If you mean he would want Paul's services as "wiseman", I'm could see that but I thought you meant help from the Bloodline.

The Women's war games match was so damn good! Great PLE overall. I honestly have no idea what the favor is. I don't think it'll be as simple as "get me a match against Roman."

@@zj1671 It’s not “negativity” it’s just calling it what it is: unnecessary. If there isn’t a story or an angle for it don’t do it. The match was not good it could have been way better but all the women’s wrestling fans don’t want good wrestling they just want what the men get. Screw if it’s actually good just as long as they are on equal footing at all points we’ll take it and eat it up.

Jade wasn't pulled from the match for "not being ready" or whatever people are saying, that's ridiculous, the injury was story driven, its a "who did it" angle and that's why that happened.
Idk if you've seen my other comments about LA Knight, but I'm glad he lost, the botches etc, but I will say it shocked me in the moment, but thinking about it, yeah I'm not surprised
I really expected Sheamus to pin Ludwig and finally win the IC title, wasn't rooting for him per say, just how I though it was going, regardless that was a great match
Unhappy with Balor getting involved, that's all I really have to say about this one. The only way I see this going in Gunther vs Balor at Saturday Night's Main Event, if I had to guess where/when
My thoughts on the favor is that Paul Heyman goes back to Punk, leaving Roman Reigns.
It's for both reasons. Jade isn't ready for a War Games match. She's still pretty green.
The only issue ive noticed is Nia Jax (in the limited matches ive seen of hers) is sloppy. Im not sure why she's champion.
I think the Paul’s favor to cm pink will be helping him get close to the rock using Roman. Cm punk has a strong hatred for the rock for taking his wrestlemania main event and that’s the only thing I can see him gaining from this. Maybe instead of rock vs Roman at wrestlemania, Roman will step down and cm punk will take his place

Agreed, there was no need for boring improperly used war games cages for women's or the men's . This was just a ple that dragged the BL storyline passed it. Everyone glazing it like ohhh look cm punk and roman are staring at each other wow soo amazing come on not even a single bit of blood
Boring but I think the Plan A is just a match (with no interference) with Roman if/when he wins the undisputed title.
I do think Plan B is open ended to where they'd pivot if something else comes up

The Damian Priest vs Gunther match was ruined for me because of Finn Balor, no offense to these three but the whole set up for this match was Gunther didn't beat Damian clean at Summerslam and is having confidence issues, having Finn interfere kinda defeats both purposes and I'm not really interested in seeing Damian Priest vs Finn Balor or Gunther again even though Damian Priest is my favorite WWE wrestler

The women’s wargames was horrible just spot on spot with no story at all to build it up. Iyo could have died if she slipped up there and fell to the left or right just stupidity. If there isn’t a story don’t do a WARGAMES the angle is what makes it not just having the match. We don’t need a horrible women’s match showcasing bad women’s wrestling just for the sake of “representation and fairness” This is why the HIAC has been taken off of being an annual PPV hope we see that with this. Nakamura vs LA Knight was good I like LA so I didn’t care for the finish but I heard Nakamura is going over to Japan with the belt to do promotion for Netflix and stuff so I understand why he has it. Damian Priest really brought it he always get me into his matches because he’s hard hitting and next to Gunther you really gotta hit hard and he brought the fire. The 3 way overall was fire I love me some Kaiser so I was rly enjoying this happy Bron is gonna keep on killing it. The men’s wargames was just fire everything leading up to it was so good to hype us up for it.
I agree that the CM Punk favor is gelp with Seth Rollins. There was some big foreshadowing here, though. After the win the guys circled up around cm punk, not roman. At the top of the ramp Punk stepped into the center of the group shot. At the press conference...no Roman Reigns.
I think the women's match would have been better served being a Traditional Survivor Series Match, but other than that it was a great show.

IC triple threat was awesome but overall it was a boring show and two WarGames matches in one show is too much
I wanted Seth Rollins to be in Punk's place but I think that will happen at some point in the future. I think they're saving that for when/if Dean Ambrose ever returns to the wwe.
glad you enjoyed it. Besides from the roman punk tease I didn't really find anything all that interesting in the show as a lot of this felt like filler as WWe continue to tell the same fueds until the royal rumble. with all this being said I am interested to see the upcoming heel turn for Punk, I am just unsure when HHH will pull the trigger which is a good thing
Man for a channel that talks so much about no tribalism this is really reaching some next level of fanboyism. The women´s match was one of the worst executed matches I have ever seen it was just botch after botch. About the other stuff. What story progression happened? Rhea beating Liv again? Sheamus failing to win the IC title again? Priest getting screwed by Balor again? This is jsut filler like every PLE not named SummerSlam or WrestleMania is in this era. What else happened? Io did the same contrieved spot that she always does. In the main event they build some tension between the faces just to have they beat the big bad like they always do. It is always the same stuff. Besides the match structure of the main event is completly non coherent with the build. This a Wargames grudge match between two big factions and instead of having a violent brawl they just do some regular wrestling moves. This is not wargames.
