Rhea’s original injury was an AC joint separation. I’m assuming grade 3 or lower because I don’t think she got surgery (don’t see a scar on the shoulder). It’s different than a dislocated shoulder, and isn’t something you can pop in and out. I know this because when it happened to me the nurse tried to “pop it back into place” which wasn’t an issue in the first place and just caused me a ton of more pain.

Also what made me love the Punk and Drew match was the callbacks to one of my favorite matches of all time and Cole said it on commentary "Shades of 1997". At the 97 SS it was Undertaker vs Bret Hart with HBK as referee and down to the finish when Seth looked at Drew before counting the 3 then walked off pissed was exactly like the 97 finish.
So Dporticus I was there live in the arena, my first ever PLE and quite frankly so far the BEST! So starting with Liv and Rhea, I knew the turn was coming because if you look at Rhea's return, he was gonna kiss her, he was gonna fold but Rhea came out and set him straight next RAW. Plus before Dom yelled at Liv when she was at the top of the arena, Rhea was gonna chase after her but Dom stopped her and then went off on her to give off the impression he was tired of her. My thought going into this match was Dom is gonna turn on her, but I didn't know how until it happened. When it happened I was screaming "I KNEW IT!" As far as Sami v Bron, I wanted Bron to win because as dominant as he has been on RAW, when they had their first bout, Sami beat him clean with one Helluva Kick and that just made me annoyed because it down played Bron in the eyes of many and he's not like that, especially if you've seen his NXT run. I agree the match needed a slight bit of back and forth but also giving Bron more offense and really tearing Sami apart. The match in my opinion felt vanilla if that makes sense. Logan v LA Knight, I can say I was SOOO happy with the finish and the ending result because this was WAY past due. Knight had everybody popping for him for a long time now and it was time to pull the trigger. I don't know why Logan never defended the title more or why that was their plan to have him hold the title for so long yet barely defend it. In fact Roman was getting that type of criticism during his Tribal Chief run at first so I figured they wouldn't do that. I am happy to be there live and witness the end of Logan's run and the beginning of Knights run with the US title. Bayley v Nia, I went into this with Nia should win this because it's long overdue even if I don't like Nia, and that's my fault for not being mature enough to look past her past and accept she has done better. Bayley in NXT was my fav, but when she won the title at Wrestlemania it was a feel good moment but I felt like she didn't have much entertaining matches. It was especially sad because the moment the graphic showed up on the screen, people were leaving for food and bathroom breaks which btw is a norm for women's matches nobody cares about. The Tiffy pop had me because I was expecting a successful cash in but somehow Tiffy went down from one forearm. Now just like you said, I thought Tiffy was gonna nail Nia in the head and win the title. Punk v Drew w/Seth as ref. This was my biggest hype of the PLE, I watched punk on tv for so long and fell in love with his character and always wanted to hear Cult of Personality live and I got just that, and with it being dark around the time, it was a beautiful visual and I was so happy to be singing with 57,000 fans. Going into this match I felt like they were gonna pull a Summerslam 97 when I saw that Punk was wearing Bret Hart inspired gear again. And I was not wrong EXCEPT the roles were reversed where Punk was Taker and Drew was Bret. I also like how Punk was a little more emotional and distracted and fell for some easy stuff. This punk took his eyes off the ball and it cost him because of something of sentimental value, I think it was perfect story telling. Now I feel like this will end up being a Triple threat because when Punk returned Seth was livid and even on raw after Punk returned Seth came out and trashed punk saying he hated him for disrespecting the company. Plus Seth v Punk was originally set for WM 40 but Punk got injured so "Card subject to change" Priest v GUNTHER was amazing so you saw how the backstage seg with Judgement day Priest put his hands on Finn in a fit of anger and later apologized for it and Finn said he was also sorry and his tone gave me the impression that he was getting closer to turning on him. I already felt like during this match Finn was gonna come out and try to help even though each time it happened Priest wasn't happy about it. I wanted GUNTHER to win because he just looks odd without a title you know what I mean? But when GUNTHER cut that promo about Priest's struggles I felt that because I've been in that boat so I was on board with whoever won or retained. HOWEVER I did not expect Finn to turn that night. Also because you were on the opposite side of the arena you got to see the entrances and I didn't but I got to see what you didn't as well. So the spot where Priest choked Finn was because he turned around and the screen about my seat shoed the replay of Fin's turn and then they locked eyes where fin had the smirk. Cody v Solo was great, it was booked like WM 40 and I'm glad because I could only imagine what WM 40 felt like live, so when we got something like it in Cleveland, I was happy about it. I dislike Solo because of the storyline but also find it funny that his whole tribal chief thing started with the fact that Roman lost and he asked Paul Heyman if wins and loses count, Solo wasn't winning any matches after he beat John Cena and then decided he was worthy of the tribal chief status. But long ago when the Uso's were feuding with Roman and Solo for MOTB where Jey pinned Roman, The Uso's said that if there was anyone that would fit the role of Chief they looked at Solo. Now in ring, I loved that Solo had Cody's number and they meshed together perfectly. I was expecting Jimmy and Jey to come out but we got KO and Orton instead and I'm okay with it I guess. Also Fatu is fine, he was selling really well and it was so Roman could come out without Fatu getting involved so the plan was for him to take himself out, he even went on to wear a foot brace the next day. ....The Roman return was GODLY Aura was at an all time high. When His WM 40 theme came on and the graphic showed up I fully committed to losing my voice which I did. The overall pop was insane!! I was trembling, when he punched Solo and speared him he was instantly a babyface, the babyface Vince was hoping to see and get. If you or anyone else read this up until this point YOU'RE AMAZING!
This Summerslam was all that and a bag of chips for me. Exciting from beginning to roughly the end. Can't say I'm a fan of the Bloodline and Cody feud, and I'm not a fan of Bron Breaker since my introduction was a bunch of squash matches, but the matches I did care about were above and beyond amazing.
I think the Fatu injury was 100% fake. WWE knows about how much people like Jacob and they wanted to save that face-off for later on down the road. He’s honestly the strongest booked guy in WWE right now so keeping him sidelined for this first interaction was just the best way for them to go. I could be wrong and Fatu might’ve actually got hurt but I kinda doubt it. He’s done that table spot plenty of times before.
So as a hardcore AEW fan I basically only watch WWE PPVs now. But I've seen a lot of SummerSlams., I said this was the best ever after it was done. Not one match was filler and all of them had extensive storylines behind them. I was blown away. You have definitely gotten into this at the right time
I was there too. Unbelievable atmosphere and the whole show was just incredible. I personally went to be able to see CM Punks return which was totally worth it but to get Roman back too plus all the great matches and moments, I'm so glad I went. I would've kicked myself hard if I didn't.
It was a phenomenal show and it really felt like the end of an act in the stories of the Judgement Day and the Bloodline. And last night's Raw confirmed the feeling. Drew and Punk was great and it had a lot of storytelling in the actual match. The Nia-Tiffany-Bailey thing I feel like it has just started and we'll see a lot more of it. I think the best name for the current period is the Cinema Era. WWE is making films right now. It's like they're writing stories that can have documentaries made about and maybe actual films too.
My love for LA Knight comes from seeing his run in TNA. During a very dark period in that company he was a breakout star and even became their world champ for a time. So happy to see him on such a big stage
I’m so glad that animosity between Roman and Cody is still there, but Roman is just taking care of family business before getting to Cody which I love for the story
Truly an Era defining summer slam and it might be the last one night summer slam with triple h saying in the press conference there was too many matches he wanted to put on the show he had to bump the tag titles to the smackdown beforehand and i wouldn't surprised if they try and make the big four two nights and almost have a WrestleMania level show every three months
I was so happy that Dom went with Liv, he can't even speak without being booed, and I think it would have been a mistake for him to lose that identity by doing something noble. Doubling down on his heat will make the eventual babyface turn create a massive reaction down the road. Decades ago, Randy Savage was the heeliest of the heels and when he and Miss Elizabeth finally reconnected, people were in literal tears. They wanted it so bad for so long 😂 Dom is going to protect his dad (or visa-versa) and we will all get a truly wholesome moment one day.
I like watching your videos and im glad you had an awesome time at SS. Funny enough im a huge aew fan and just cant do wwe anymore, but i still watch the big four events and reels on social media to have a basic idea of whats going on. I thought summer slam was a huge let down (mostly because the two matches I was interested in most going into it were my two least favorite matches), but wrestling is like music or comedy its super subjective. That Gunther/Damien match was AMAZING!
I was there and yes indeed that was the greatest SummerSlam of all time! The entire card and matches was awesome! Also, I wish I knew you were there as I’d of loved to have met you!
Absolutely AMAZING SummerSlam. I can only imagine how epic it was to be there. That is how a wrestling show is supposed to be put together... it all built perfectly, and nothing was disappointing and everything feeds into so many open ended twists. I only have like 2 nit-picks that are super inside baseball but they didn't hurt the show at all in any way what so ever. legitimate 10 out of 10 PPV and i'm never ever that generous.. ever.
Every time I see Gunther wrestle I'm reminded what I miss in current day wrestling, slow the fuck down, so you can up the tempo toward a peak. Also don't oversell every little tickle you get, it doesn't make your opponent look strong, it makes you look weak. Having Gunther as champ is so satisfying to see because of that.
Gunther is the best in ring wrestler on the planet and it's not even close. I can't remember seeing a bad Gunther match and his mic work has been good too lately. He's going to hold onto that belt for a long, long time
Being there live on the floor when roman returned, was an absolute out of body experience. I can’t really explain that feeling other than a never ending adrenaline rush to the core of the body. My phone audio and peacock doesn’t do it justice! Lost my voice on the “ooooooo ahhhhhhhhh” as well.
Im not super high on Priest's title run itself but the story has been pretty good. Him having a huge chip on his shoulder and trying to prove the detractors wrong, while also trying to prove he doesn't need the Judgment day to keep the title yet all his attempts to prove so kind of fall to the wayside due to all the interference that happen in his title matches. He wants to prove he's not a paper champion but everything seems to be against him. Plus him always wanting to seperate himself from the judgment day lead to the finn turn being more effective.
I had a ton of fun beig at Summer Slam last year in Detroit, but man did I have major FOMO for missing this one. It had to have been ELECTRIC hearing Roman's music hit at the end even though we were all expecting it. Every single match gets a thumbs up, it was insane.
The two can't even be compared. I remember thinking the crowd near me at the Detroit show was dull. This was a nuclear level of loud when Roman's music hit.
I’m the exact same with la knight I’ve gone from not caring to see him a few months ago now him being in my top wrestlers right now just for the mic work
Technically Roman got a 'Thank you Roman' in person before, but that was when he announced his leukemia was back, so it's very good to see him get one that is just unconditionally good.
I feel bad for Damian. I think he deserved the title for longer, especially now that he's a babyface and the crowd is cheering him. But on the other hand Gunther could be the best champion in the company. I need more about the "new" Judgment Day, Rhea, Dom... I'm in love with that storyline.
If you look back at it on Peacock, Damian knew Finn screwed him because he looked up at the tron and saw the replay of Finn putting Gunther's foot on the rope and that's when Priest turned around and went after Balor.
Maven says that after his shoulder got repaired it would go in and out of the socket frequently because the joint was more flexible. Maybe thats the case with Rhea as well?
Sami Zayne and Bron's match was cut a few minutes short which is why it seemed like it should go longer. They are definitely setting him back up to join the OG Bloodline vs Temu Bloodline.
The move where you thought LA dropped Logan on his head was actually a protected brain buster. It was absolutely insane. A super brain buster is wild to see
I've been a wrestling fan for the past 50 years so I'm kind of jaded. After the Bron match I was kinda bored. Also I saw Sammy going to the Bloodline story.
Gunther is a pure heel Dominic is a pure heel The Rock was a pure heel during the WrestleMania 40 "saga" Ripley and Priest at the start of Judgment Day were pure heels Logan Paul is a pure heel It all depends on how they are presented and paired with
Tv showed Damien watching the replay on the big screen in the stadium! Even the commentators said oh look, Damien is watching what Finn did on replay. Obviously Jd posted on Twitter yesterday ripping the judgment day shirt saying something like I hated this shirt.
I 100% agree when you said Sami should have survived longer. The second after he lost I was like “What? He survived Roman for like 25 minutes. He beat Gunther after a 20 minute beat down. How can he lose so fast?”
Thought we were gonna get like 20min match but I get they want Bron to strong and at MITB he didn't take Sami seriously. Also Bron beat Gunther in NXT before his call up. Only 3 men pinned Gunther since coming to WWE. Dragunov, Bron and Sami
Bron cut the comeback short with the first spear. Sami can get that momentum shift but he needs to rally to do that. If you stop the rally, you stop Sami.
I firmly believe they did not want to overbook the ending of that SummerSlam match. Jacob Fatu won a championship for his team (even if he's just filling in for Tonga Loa) in his 2nd or 3rd match in the company. They're protecting that boy and having him take himself out is a way to keep him from getting laid out by Roman... which could prolong a future feud down the line. Plus everything about Roman's reason for showing up is Solo. Jacob wouldn't even be in WWE without Solo. Roman doesn't need to interact with Jacob yet if at all. Solo is Roman's problem. Without knowing for sure, I really expect and hope that Jacob didn't actually get hurt.
24:28 it’s kinda like Gunther’s hypocrisy. While he can beat people legitimately, he won’t say no to any other help because at the end of the day he is a heel. He can throw out his morals and has the ego to think he could do it himself anyways. That’s my two cents at least
I think 6 out of 7 matches had the shoulder into the turnbuckle spot which was kind of funny but at least Rhea did it first and sold it as a dislocated shoulder.
Damian watched the replay. He saw Fin put Gunthers foot on the ropes in the replay. It's fun because usually wrestlers don't acknowledge the replay. Refs don't either which is why people cheat, they show people cheat on the replay and the ref doesn't do anything. But this time Damian watched what happened and blew his top. Rightfully so. 😂😂
I also wonder/hope they use wat Fatu said in a interview a interviewer asked Jacob if he or Roman would win in a matchh he said he cnt cause Roman is the tribal cheif I cnt fight him I paraphrased a little but yea I hope they do something with that
Seth VS Punk was a TOP Feud last year going into the rumble, Seth notoriously doesn't like Punk in real life, so the feud going into mania was supposed to be Punk and Seth for the WHC, so they are just rekindling that feud with Seth being special guest ref. Also Seth and Drew at mania ofc.

Plus Seth v Punk was originally set for WM 40 but Punk got injured so "Card subject to change"
Priest v GUNTHER was amazing so you saw how the backstage seg with Judgement day Priest put his hands on Finn in a fit of anger and later apologized for it and Finn said he was also sorry and his tone gave me the impression that he was getting closer to turning on him.
Also yes that was THE Loudest OUUHHHAAAA ever!
Hope he's okay!
@@Dporticusit was their way of keeping Jacob away so Roman could do his thing
Been watching since 1985. It was great. I loved every moment
Absolutely incredible show! My tribal chief is back ☝
I’m so glad that animosity between Roman and Cody is still there, but Roman is just taking care of family business before getting to Cody which I love for the story
Recommend some Dusty Rhodes/Ric Flair. Starcade 85 & Bash 86.
I love this channel man!
That means a lot!
My boy Dom turned heel while being heel. This man spits on rules.
Love to hear thats your a new true fan.Keep them coming
Truly an Era defining summer slam and it might be the last one night summer slam with triple h saying in the press conference there was too many matches he wanted to put on the show he had to bump the tag titles to the smackdown beforehand and i wouldn't surprised if they try and make the big four two nights and almost have a WrestleMania level show every three months
I’ve heard some outlets speculate that the Fatu injury was a part of the match because a Roman/Jacob Fatu confrontation is being saved for later.
Bros watched wrestling for not even a year and is already like oh yeah that's why I watch this shit 😂
Great show, a ton of fun, happy that you got to live it! Hyped for Raw tonight
I'm so pumped for raw
Love all the work you do. Keep it up can’t wait to keep watching
I appreciate you!
Thay ohhhh ahhhh really was legendary. So happy we got to be part of it!
Easily the best show I’ve ever seen live it was great to experience one if not the greatest return ever
Good video. Are you going to WM41? Just asking cause I’m thinking of doing the on location travel package and I’m hearing mixed reviews about it.
Dude ur gonna hit 10k in like a week !
Idk about that but that'd be awesome! Lol
I guessed every match & it was the best Summer Slam I've seen everyone of them.
This was a nuclear level of loud when Roman's music hit.
cant wait to see what trips cooks up for rumble and for survivor series, the big 4 truly gonna be the big 4 again
I’m the exact same with la knight I’ve gone from not caring to see him a few months ago now him being in my top wrestlers right now just for the mic work
Glad it's not just me lol
@@Dporticus can't even say yeah to people without either saying yeahhh or trying very hard not too as they won't get it and think I'm strange 😂
Technically Roman got a 'Thank you Roman' in person before, but that was when he announced his leukemia was back, so it's very good to see him get one that is just unconditionally good.
liv is amazing in the ring that sa why i became a fan she can do high flying moves as well
I thought she did awesome!
8:30 I was at WrestleMania and when Sami was just started his rally by shaking on the ground my dad said "Sami's having a goddamn seizure!"
Being A Knowledgeble Person When Comes To The Judgement Day I Think This Goes All The Way To Next Years SUMMERSLAM
That'd be nuts but I'm down!
This year summerslam was really good and it was bday gift thank you wwe. Great way to end my bday
Happy birthday!
SummerSlam 2001 was the first SummerSlam I remember watching and my first ppv I remember watching
Sami Zayne and Bron's match was cut a few minutes short which is why it seemed like it should go longer. They are definitely setting him back up to join the OG Bloodline vs Temu Bloodline.
23:25 They showed on TV that Damian watched the playback on one of the jumbo screens and that's how he figured out Finn betrayed him
I really hope they keep the dynamic of dom and liv. I would be so mad if just make liv be with finn. As it would be a waste of the betrayal.
The move where you thought LA dropped Logan on his head was actually a protected brain buster. It was absolutely insane. A super brain buster is wild to see
That was nasty
I'm glad other people have noticed that Solo really stepped up
the ref showed where Finn put Gunthers leg on the rope on the big tv monitor over the ring and thats how damian saw it after that he went after Finn
This SummerSlam was definitely a big upgrade from SS23 to this one. 👍🏻
Let's GOOOOO!!!
I've been a wrestling fan for the past 50 years so I'm kind of jaded. After the Bron match I was kinda bored. Also I saw Sammy going to the Bloodline story.
I've been watching since late 90s, best Summerslam I've ever seen
He'll yea
@@Dporticus"He'll yeah" - LA Knight fans
Gunther is a pure heel
Dominic is a pure heel
The Rock was a pure heel during the WrestleMania 40 "saga"
Ripley and Priest at the start of Judgment Day were pure heels
Logan Paul is a pure heel
It all depends on how they are presented and paired with
Tv showed Damien watching the replay on the big screen in the stadium!
Right? I didn't need him to win or even get much more offense going. I just figured he'd have a little more HP lol
Thought we were gonna get like 20min match but I get they want Bron to strong and at MITB he didn't take Sami seriously. Also Bron beat Gunther in NXT before his call up. Only 3 men pinned Gunther since coming to WWE. Dragunov, Bron and Sami
@@DporticusBron 23 miles per hour spear that moves the ring just hits harder
Bron cut the comeback short with the first spear. Sami can get that momentum shift but he needs to rally to do that. If you stop the rally, you stop Sami.
The way you feel about Roman is the same way I feel about Sting and Dusty Rhodes. So I understand 😊
Xcom 2? Nice! And nice review.
@@ollimakinen5414 I used to stream it full time lol
@@Dporticus
Amazing game, do those streams still exist somewhere?
@@ollimakinen5414 not really. It's been a while. You can find some old clips here and there on tiktok but those days are definitely behind me lol
Top Five Summerslams for sure.
Watch Summerslam 2002 or 1998 for the greatest Summersla.... this was definitely in my top 10 though.
I think Sami goes to tag teams again (joins new (old?) Blood Line with Roman and Usos ) and Bron feuds with Ilja
Damian saw Finn put the leg on the rope on the live replay on the tron
Awesome video bro 🔥
Me and saw the replay on the camera on the big board
This was definitely an all time, maybe top 5, definitely top 10
Gotta say I did fucking hate the Rhea shoulder spot. Little too anime for my taste tbh
Damian actually watched the replay on the arena screen and that’s how he saw Finn moved Gunther’s leg onto the rope
