4K Walk - BANFF Alberta - A Breathtaking Canada Day Walk
Join me as I walk around downtown Banff as it prepares for the start of the Canada Day parade. After a rainy start to the day, the weather cleared, and we were treated to bright sunshine for the celebrations.
I wander down Banff Avenue, packed with visitors and locals celebrating Canada Day and around the traditional Canada Day street Market. All of this against the backdrop of the stunning Rocky Mountains.

BANFF
Banff is a resort town in Banff National Park, in the Canadian Rockies of Alberta, Canada. It is renowned for its stunning mountainous scenery, crystal-clear lakes, and abundant wildlife. About 126 kilometres west of Calgary, Banff is easily accessible via the Trans-Canada Highway.
The town is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts. It offers many activities, including hiking, skiing, and mountain biking.
Notable natural attractions include nearby Lake Louise, known for its turquoise waters, and the Banff Gondola, which provides panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The Banff Upper Hot Springs offer a relaxing experience with naturally heated mineral water.
Banff also has a vibrant cultural scene with various festivals, museums, and art galleries. The Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity hosts numerous events and workshops throughout the year.

CANADIAN ROCKIES
The Canadian Rocky Mountains, commonly referred to as the Canadian Rockies, are a major mountain range in western Canada, renowned for their dramatic landscapes, including rugged peaks, expansive forests, and glacial lakes.
Geographically, the Canadian Rockies span approximately 1,450 kilometres from the interior plains of Alberta to the Rocky Mountain Trench in British Columbia. The highest peak in the range is Mount Robson, which stands at 3,954 metres.
One of the most significant aspects of the Canadian Rockies is their inclusion in several national parks, forming part of the UNESCO World Heritage Site known as the Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks.
This includes Banff, Jasper, Kootenay, Yoho National Parks, and several provincial parks. These protected areas are celebrated for their natural beauty and biodiversity, featuring numerous wildlife species such as grizzly bears, elk, moose, and mountain goats.
The Canadian Rockies are a top destination for outdoor recreational activities such as hiking and biking. In winter, the Rockies transform into a hub for skiing and snowboarding, with world-class resorts like Lake Louise Ski Resort and Sunshine Village.
The lakes, such as Lake Louise and Moraine Lake, are famous for their striking turquoise waters and are popular spots for canoeing, kayaking, and photography.

I honestly don’t know if it’s normal, I was surprised as well. We went to Besalu, another amazing old village, on the same day and it was very very busy. I guess Santa Pau is harder to get to, it’s further from the main roads. But I loved the fact it was quiet!!
Not been since 1982,have go back some time looks okay.
It was my first visit. I lived in Hull as a kid and Skegness didn’t have the best reputation, but I was pretty impressed.

Schön mein zweites zu Hause zu sehen. Ich bin diese Strecke über 4 Jahre nicht mehr zu Fuß gegangen. Es hat sich vieles seid 1987 verändert, als ich das erste Mal diese Insel kennengelernt habe .Inzwischen bin ich ungefähr 20 Mal auf dieser schönen Insel La Gomera gewesen.

This was my first visit, I was impressed, such a nice long sandy beach. A great place for families.
@@JillsWalks if you go to skeg again I advise you to go to raff 55 they do all you can eat breakfast, lunch and dinner and it's absolutely amazing

Hi stayed in the miramar 2yrs ago and the beach was directly across from it from other video's I've seen it looks like the beach got washed away from the storms
Hi, thanks for the comment. It's true that there isn't much sand on the stretch of beach near the Miramar. If you want to get a better look check out my beachfront video ua-cam.com/video/R2Cg6n1ckdk/v-deo.html at around 47 minutes, this was taken around 10 days ago.

the film from Benalmadena in such weather is probably the most spoiled film that could be made :(
We were unlucky with the weather, but we think it still gives an idea of what the area is like and also what the bus ride covers.

The noisy ugly fare ground has replaced green lawns, flower beds n' peaceful wooden benches. You choose?
Some will prefer the fair, but for me gardens and benches any day!!
I wouldn't really call Whitby a beach town - seaside town might be better.
Hi, thanks for your comment. I agree that seaside town might have been a better description as Whitby has so much more to offer than the beach. However, it does have a long sandy beach to the north of the harbour which is popular with families in the summer.

What a cracking video. Thanks to whoever made it. Often see the tour bus -passing. Next time I will give it a biggish ave, Would love to be seen on a video like this, I love Benalmadena, in particular Arroyo. To my mind the best place for older people to holiday in the whole of Europe. ( Actually would suit anybody that wants a relaxed, safe, great value for money holiday destination.)Well done again.
