The Cotswolds is an English region known for its rolling hills, historic villages, and lush countryside. Located in south-central England, the Cotswolds covers an area of approximately 800 square miles and stretches through five counties: Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, Warwickshire, Wiltshire, and Worcestershire.
The Cotswolds is renowned for its picturesque landscapes and well-preserved architecture, dating back to the medieval period. The region's beauty is not just in its natural scenery but also in its historic towns and villages, with stone and thatched cottages.
The Cotswolds is also celebrated for its gardens and historic homes, many of which are open to the public. These estates showcase the best English garden design and offer a peaceful retreat for visitors.
Another highlight of the Cotswolds is its extensive network of footpaths and trails, making it a prime destination for walkers and outdoor enthusiasts.
