Saving an old PEI coated spring steel sheet with Ultem sticker
Переглядів 2589 місяців тому
PEI spring steel sheets are great build plates for any filament (except PC), but their adhesion performance decreases over time. In this video I use the spring steel sheet of a compromised PEI-coated build plate to build a new plate with Ultem (PEI) sticker. I sanded the old build plate - it took me about an hour to clean both sides. The black-coated PEI sheets are easier to clean for some reas...

Mac Pro case conversion with 3d printing
Переглядів 1,3 тис.Рік тому
This is a project to convert a MacPro case (from 2006 - I think it is 2.1 / 3.1) to PC case. There are many similar projects because this case is popular for DIY PCs. The difference is I use 3d printed parts for the rear I/O panel and to add additional ports and features. I hope the video will give you ideas for your own Mac Pro case conversion project. This video is subtitled - switch the subt...

Short video to request a serial number for my new Voron 2.4 3d printer. It is great CoreXY machine, fully enclosed and I will test it more in the coming weeks. The video shows the gantry leveling and the homing (I use virtual Z endstop) and 2 of my first prints - PLA benchy and ABS voron cube. Few test prints with Voron Switchwire
Переглядів 16 тис.4 роки тому
In this video I redo my speed test with larger object, because the one from my first video was with too small object to reach the max. velocity of 200mm/s. The speed test is just out of curiosity, I don't intend to print with this speed. If you look at the cube closely you will see that allthough it printed fine, there is some ringing (gosting) on the Y (my belts are tight), and I think this ac...

I have made something similar to this but just the bearings and without the rail. works amazing and I pushed it to 200mm/s
Wow , this worked so good with abs. anyone try with nylon ?
If you used slightly longer rails. You could make a superlight carriage with minimal amount of material.
No STL yet ?
Hello ivan since then they have came out with different extruder i went with the galileo 2 design only prob motor hits i was wonder can you redo your mount and add .250 to the backside or 6.35mm if thats easier or share your actula cad fil not goot when it comes to converting stL files.
Just 3d print like 20 clips to hold it on the table. Instead of using your fingers...
My print bed only goes up to 100℉.... will that Gold PEI Spring Steel still work on my printer im using the Creality Ender 3 Max Neo?!
HI there, which is the version have you bought? the 0.4mm or 0.6mm version. Thanks!
Thanks for sharing all this work 👏
what parts did you need?
Hello! was thinking about your cr10, could you klipperize it after the mods ? I have a Tevo tornado, in order not to spend a lot of money on it, i will just put linear rails on y and x, and dual z it....just want to know what is your standard speeds and aceleration on thin cr10 after modding and klipperizing it! thanks in advance!
Thanks for those very useful tips.I begin SW building, so I instantly ordered the belt. Please should you share a link for your ball filament guide? regards
" 2 x 20mm M3 bolts for attaching the PCB holder and spacer to the adapter mount" those 20mm bolts are just enough to screw pcb holder and spacer together and not to screw it into adapter mount
Can i buy it?
What design of printer is this?
Voron Trident vorondesign.com
But this is not beld driven z axis?
@@jeez22 Voron 2.4 has a gantry on belts, the Trident's bed is on 3 leadscrews for tilt-adjust.
What were your infill settings for the 3D printed objects.
hello, do you have the discord
Does anyone know the quality of the STL has to be to get the best print?
Leaving a comment for the YT algorithm. 😂This is amazing! Thank you for leaving links to all the products as this is an upgrade I'm looking to complete myself after having just installed a MicroSwiss NG direct drive extruder, klipper firmware, and CRtouch onto my CR10V2!<3
Hi, this mod was one of the first linear rails mods for cr10. Probably check for better more recent designs on thingiverse. BTW I have upgraded the Z linear rails mounts 2-3 years back with mounts inspired by voron switchwire www.thingiverse.com/thing:4859887
You should include input shaper graphs on your review.
Thanks for the review. The V1 has 5 volt and not 24 volts
Yes you are right. V1 was 5v only not 24. Thanks for pointing out.
Your stealthburner looks horrible, bad print quality and what's the deal with those bent screws???
You mean the SB fan face probably. It was printed from PC (hence the visible layers) with blue ABS first layer. I changed this with 3-color ASA fan face i designed (visible at the end of the video ) At the time of Tap instalation I was with the old SB face 3 months ago. The bent M3 rods is my solution to unavailable 50mm M3 bolts in my country. It started as temporary fix and now is on all my voron printers. I like it.
@@3dpblog I like it too
Thank you for the review! I also VERY much appreciate the full subtitles. Wish more creators would do that
I did a lot of flow testing with a clone CHT nozzle. It had one of the flatter top copper slugs, so I chamfered the entry to look more like this Trianglelab nozzle or a genuine CHT. I was able to get up to 30mm³/s with some PLA and with only 5% under extrusion. This is on an Ender 3 Pro with a bimetal heatbreak and a Sprite SE extruder. So with a slightly better heater I'm sure it could go even further.
Thanks for your comment. I bought also one of the cheap CHts on Ali (like 2$) - hardened steel with a copper 3-hole core. I haven't tested it yet - I am a bit afraid cause I ordered 0.8 nozzle, it is written 0.8 on the nozzle, but the hole is not more than 0.4. The Trianglelab one is quality. Today I had another print with large solid infill and I got nice infill at 30mm3/s (V6, 40W heater, titanium heatbreak from trianglelab - so basic). I made a video and will link it soon in the video description..
@@3dpblog That's strange! The set I ordered had 0.2, 0.4, and 0.8 nozzles and the holes definitely seem appropriately sized. My flow results were insane with the 0.8 nozzle after chamfering the entry. Trianglelab is def higher quality! That's great results.
I suppose i've got a nozzle from a bad batch. will get another one to test it. I linked a short video in the video description for the flow of the TL nozzle. I get good infill at 30 mm/s with ASA, which is great for a V6, PLA could be even more.
@@3dpblog Wow 30mm³/s with ASA is excellent! Can likely do a lot more with PLA like you said. When I tested PETG vs PLA the maximum flow with minimal under extrusion was drastically different.
Hello Ivan. I am Bülent. i am writing you from Turkey. Thanks for the project. I finished it at the end of 1 week.. :). I have 2 questions for you, I would be very happy if you answer them. My 1st question: With which filaments would it be better to print the parts? (I have a SLA printer and I printed from ABS like resin, but I think it will cause a smell..) My 2nd question: I connected my own ABL probe and it works fine. But when trying to get the offset value from the back of the table, it comes across a gap. How can I fix this? I hope I could explain. Thank you very much in advance..
Why they call is a XYcore if it is just a more prettier Bed slinger powered by klipper? there is a TRUE XY core transformation mod out there
This coreXZ, not core XY
Watched the video twice, just because of the music 😅
Good authentic country music !
wait why did you get relays? how are we supposed to know how to hook those up? Which way does the electricity run through them and where does it stop?
hi mate, can I use 3mm plexiglass sheet too? I read on net that it can withstand up to 80 degrees celcius which is too much for just PLA printing
lo puedo instalar en mi x1?
Nice work @3dp blog, can you help with your printer.cfg code file?
This is awsome :D i am considering printing 2 of these models for my own case :D the io adapter and power outlet those are really cool
Very cool done, also a very good video. Thank you
I'm sourcing my own parts. I wish someone would go more in depth about parts and explain some differences about the printed variations. I almost ordered parts that were incompatible, and some part details I nearly overlooked. Kits are worry free but that kinda takes the fun out of the diy project. so far I've spent 1/2 as much and was able to upgrade some things. got the bbt octo pro, with steppers, and their pi for 100. Great video thanks for showing everything!
I sourced the parts myself for voron switchwire and voron 2.4. I followed the excel sheet provided by vorondesign and it was all good for the mechanical parts. For these 2 printers I went with Misumi profiles and voron has specified the exact references to order. Regarding the electronics go withe the most recent and powerful boards, you will figure out how to set the klipper configuration based on board specifics and pins layout and by looking at existing configurations for older boards. Btw on my voron 2.4 I am still using 2 old SKR 1.3 boards and I dont see any performance issues compared to the Octopus in the Trident. Save from the inductive probe and go with klicky -very reliable and good enough. Personally I would never install the Tap because it is too heavy.
Excellent idea, I fight petg so much it's not funny.
Hi, thinking of using 2 ssd relays is cool but the issue with that is if one fails, you would never know, and then there will remain only one, and it would be same situation as if there was one ssd relay. So, in fact you are relying on shutoff through software rather than the fuse - which I think should be fine anyways.
And that's why Stratasys machines have used polycarbonate buils sheets for the last 20 years.
What was the Db reading afterwards???
This is a better printer than the 2.4 but everyone is building the 2.4
This looks great! Good job! I'll probably be trying to adapt it to my Artillery Sidewinder X1 xP Does the X2 have more connections out of the box? Because I had to remove my leds to be able to use a bl-touch and I'm wondering if there's a better way.
That’s great and all, but where do you find poly carbonate for less than $10? I’m not sure if this is a translation or a branding issue but the poly carbonate three or 4 mm stick we have in the United States is not actual poly carbonate but plastic pretty much vinyl it will melt. I don’t know why they call it polycarbonate because it’s not but I’ll definitely be able to look out, thanks for the videos, cheers!
No Voron updates in over a year, so project appears dead. Be wary of trying to complete abandoned mods.
The Voron project is very much alive and active. Do you mean my own adaptation of Stealthburner for Artillery is dead? It is just a mod that I am still using on my SWX2. It still works for this toolhead, so I dont intend to update it.
Rad Information. Appreciate that you took the time to plan, procure, experiment, document, record, produce, upload and All that goes with it… Good for you My Man🤙🏻..
Great Video :) Did you do a build video like this for the Voron 2.4?
technically with coreXZ you dont have a designated X and Z motors, just one A and one B motor, each moving the print head diagonally on the X-Z-Plane
Not sure you understand how speeds and acceleration work together. You are never reaching 200mm/s with that low acceleration 🤷♂️ I would estimate that you reached 150mm/s at the most. So of course you boost in print speed made no difference cause it never reached higher speeds.
Yeah, this video is quite old. At that time I've got many similar comments and I added additional tests with larger object in order to reach the speed. Check the description.
Thank you. Here in germany we say ich küss dein Auge
