Hey Ivan. I used your bracket for MGN12/9 rails, but the x timing belt always slips out of the bracket (belt gets loose). Do you have any recommendations for that problem?
It is great. I love it. I have already more than 1000 print hours with the Afterburner and it delivers. No issues. Hemera is fine product also and you can go for it with peace of mind. I personnaly like DIY and I love the freedom to use multiple hotends. I also find the afterburner offers better weight balance (it doesn't matter much with 2 linear rails though). Finally I love its look, but again it is just a personal preference.
Your awsome. Are you an engineer? And what country are you from? Ive been checkin your stuff out for the past 6 months or so. Is your voron supported on both sides of the x axis? Just curious.
Hi, it is not "my" voron :) The Afterburner direct print head is developed by the Voron team at vorondesign.com/. It is originally moving on 2 MGN09 linear rails on a Voron CoreXY printer. I just adapted it to my CR-10 that had already 2 linear rails mod on the X - one MGN12 and an MGN09.
@jeremyxlewis check out the clicky-probe project on github under VoronUsers/printer_mods/JosAr/klicky-probe/. It's better than using this inductive probe because after a while this Omron probe fails, probably due to the heat. The micro switch lasts a lot longer and can work on any surface.
Which version you use for Omron TL-Q5MC2-Z? I am sure we will need NC type for safety. But which one from NPN or PNP? I suppose it depends on how you wire it. But still want to confirm best choice.
the print volume changes only on Z (5-6 cm less) because of the height of the direct drive. X and Y size is the same. Could you describe what is the issue?
Hi, 3dp Let me ask you a few questions. 1. Can I use the Voron bom / switch PL-05N? 2. v6 Cooling Fan from 4010 to 4020 Why did you change it? 3. Is cr-10s clipper .cfg available?
Hi, 1. Yes, sure. You can use PL05N or PL08N for bed leveling and your existing z limit switch (z endstop) to position the nozzle on the bed (this is the voron way). I use the Omron sensor because it is less temperature sensitive (more precise) and allows me to use the sensor both for levelling and to position the nozzle - so this way I dont use a mecanical endstop. 2. Because I had a noctua 4020 silent fan and didn't want to buy another 4010 😀. No other reason. You can print the original fan holder from voron and use a 4010 fan. 3. Sure, Klipper community is large. Google it. Than you have to adapt it for your probe and hotend. BTW you can stay with Marlin also.
It stays in my spare parts. In this configuration the inductive probe works well with the PEI steel sheet (because it detects very well the steel), however I miss the bltouch when using a polycarbonate sheet, because the sensing distance is less precise. So, who knows, when I get bored by the afterburner, may be I'll return to a more universal probing with bltouch.
Hi. Hätte einige Fragen zu deinem Umbau. Ich möchte gerne auf die mgn12h linear Lager den voron verbauen. Ist das mit deinem Umbau möglich? Grüsse
Hi there, where can i find the stl for the mount for the afterburner to the linear rail?
great job i have 2 voron and 1 cr10 pro v2 and marlin sucks the new update makes it useable

Is the belt under the drag chain?
Dear Ivan,
How do you like the Afterburner?
I'm can't decide should I make the afterburner, or get e3d Hemera... HELP.. :D
Thank you,
Dino

Will this work on a standard ender bed with an IKEA “2mm-ish” mirror bed
No, the inductive probe works best with a spring steel sheet. It sense the aluminum, but the sensing distance is too small

Sorry for the late reply. I use Omron TL-Q5MC2-Z - it is a NPN Inductive Probe
BTW, I made a short video for the inductive probe a while ago - ua-cam.com/video/yxHTdCKzE2I/v-deo.html
How did you fix the changed print dimensions, I want to have my print size unchanged, thanks!!
the print volume changes only on Z (5-6 cm less) because of the height of the direct drive. X and Y size is the same. Could you describe what is the issue?
The issue is that the nozzle sticks out further on the y axis.
@@vincentbonadio614 Do you have a CR10? Just place your y endstop a bit back to compensate.
Perfect, thank you!!
Hi Ivan. What are the dimensions of that drag chain? It looks great. Thanks.
It is a cheap chain from Amazon 14 x 17 mm amzn.to/3fe3Wbp
