I’m so glad that I have a PX1 Ranger. Unbolt the crossmember, undo all the sump bolts and you’re looking at the oil pump. None of all this pulling the front end out
This should not be an aftermarket upgrade it should be a factory recall and re fit as it is a design fault
Anyone know whats the problem with my d22 yd25. Only temp goes up when going over 100kms but when driving around the city the temp is fine. Any suggestions???

Why did you pack the pump with grease?
@@Outlawtactical help it suck oil easier. Don’t have to use much or you could even just put oil in it
It's sad that converting back to a traditional type pump is an actual "Upgrade"
This seems like a lot of overkill - I've seen people do this without pulling half that stuff out?? Is this to avoid cutting the crossmember welds?

@@vouzenthal we never got the yd22 engine here in Australia. But having a smaller engine and fuel pump will make it alot harder to get power out of it
@@yd2532 Some guy on the almera and x-trail forums had TurboTechnics (?) machine up his turbo housing and fit a larger turbine, in addition to some exhaust and air filter mod, then tuned it up to 205 hp. To be more precise I'm more curious about how much I could get with a stock turbo. I recently did a turbo maintenance so I wouldn't want to spend money on a hybrid one. Thank you for the input either way
Any chance you could show how to adjust/replace the shim and buckets on a D22 navara YD2.5 with the motor still in the car? would be super helpful thank you
@@angusfreeman8149 they don't really wear if they are genuine. Aftermarket ones will wear more. But you could just measure it all and then if you do have any that are worn turn the engine so all pistons are half way down the bore then remove the top chain and Mabey the cam sprockets and loosen the caps so that you can raise the cams and change the shims that need changing.
@ what are some of the main causes that could possibly cause wear to the shims or create lifter tick?

Just found you, just subscribed. You rev that engine to 4=5 k, my d40 will only run till like 3k, cruzes at 110 kph at just over 2k, suprized at the difference between the two

Hi Daniel, just put a reco motor in my 2013 yd25 2.5 after 13000km its starting to nock and wont idle unless i keep the revs up. Put a computer on it no codes or engine lights while it was on we re set the injectors made no difference Iv been told it could be injectors or bad fuel or vac pump, any ideas would be helpful. @yd2532 hey bud Thai I think D22. It starts and runs for 3secs unless iv got the hi idle button on and the once it gets warm then the knock starts, but once I turn the hi idle button off it will run for 30secs
@@ChrisFleming-s5g did you put new or reco injectors in the new engine?
@yd2532 new injectors, put the com on it and programmed them in. The od thing was the tec said that they all had the same code I believe he said, and then we put them to what they needed to be and didn't make a difference

@@dolan57 ye man I actually have tested a fair bit more stuff on it. Like a bigger exhuast wheel. The turbo started to get a noise when I turned the boost up to the max. I think it needs an antisurge design for the compressor housing so I'm gonna see if they can machine it for me and if they can I was just gonna put it all in the one video
Epic mate, where did you place your throttle body? I've been thinking about changing the Eletronic throttle body to a cable one. Any ideas on this? I want more throttle response. cheers mate

@@trentlovell6101 normally you would need to push gearbox back, frop front diffm drop sump. We have found a way around that but you'll need a modified oil pump back cover that we make

Nice work looks like a bit of a mission. How many km are on the ranger what was the condition of the factory oil pump? What's the price supply and install ?
I didn't get a chance to pull apart this one. But the original pump didn't pick up oil after doing an oil change so they decided to change to the gear pump so you don't have to worry about it picking up oil after you service it. 300 000km seems to be about the limit of the pumps sooner if you run thicker oil then recommended or don't change the oil often. I got another vid on my UA-cam that shows how the rotor wears into the vanes until they split

Ye bit different from my normal vids. Got the turbo highflowed for the compound turbo setup so that video will be coming soon. Been wanting to post the D40 upgrade vids but that turbo started making a noise when we turn the boost right up so I want to get the compressor housing modified with an anti surge design hopefully that fixes it.
@yd2532 I wonder if going to a external gate will help back pressure?

help needed, 2009 d40 yd25 motor,i have replaced 3 brand new front main seal,constantly leaking,what could cause this,any help would be appreciated

@ The 3 seals I have used were aftermarket ,today I have bought genuine Nissan seal which I will try next few days
@ rear seal with still original hasn’t leaked at all

@123Didrik which tool are you talking about? D22 won't need the balance shaft tool. Only the fuel pump seal tools if you want to replace the seal
@yd2532 Ok, I'm just going to change the head gasket, do I have to dismantle the entire timing chain if I'm just going to take the top off and change the head gasket?
@123Didrik just need to take off the top chain parts can leave the bottom. But if it hasn't been replaced good idea to change the bottom since it's the one that's snaps around 150 000km
Hey mate I noticed in ur video u said the drill out the head relief would u know if that could be the cause of my front main seal leaking after 3 replacements in the spans on a month ,I haven't done anything major to my yd25 just having a problem with front main seal

@@yd2532my question was related to the 256 cams, tomei lists one variant which is NVCS compatible (s14) and one for S13. I just got an SR that has the VCT removed and I don’t know what intake can I should get from the two.
@@mihai66hrc im pretty sure the vct and non vct cams are slightly different. Something to do with the dowl location. Even if you have removed the vct make sure you get cams to suit the vct model. Even though i have deleted the vct I'm still running the vct compatible cams
@@yd2532 yes, there is a 10 degrees mechanical timing difference at the highest point of the cam, this was the reason I've commented in the first place. Thanks for the info mate!

@@erikeklund1461 to check it manually just pull off the cam chain cover and use a feeler gauge to measure the gaps between the links

@@paulnewton5766 it's was all custom made. Diesel performance parts can get alot of that type of stuff from Thailand

Hello, I have a question. I have a 2005 Nissan Navara D40 and for a few weeks (2-3 weeks) the car has not run, since it has an error code, the error is P0089 and is related to the fuel pump. The car doesn't run when you start it once, but if you turn it off and start it again, everything works perfectly. I would like to know if you could help me, thank you. A huge greeting
@@hugo.tortola_0524 usually only fuel issues they have is from the scv or fuel pressure relief valve. Or you might need to do an ecu reset

How long does it normally take for the oil light to go out on d40 yd25? I can come to 4 before mine goes out. Is this in the normal range or do you think my oil pump oring might be pinched?
