A quick question....... Which year was the timing chain issue addressed on YD25 D40? Reason why I am asking is, I wish to buy a used D40 but am not sure how to check if the car has a double timing chain without opening the engine.
Hi mate glad to see you back, I need some help, I recently rebuilt a yd25 engine, it runs but it not REVVING at all, I checked the pedal sensor it works what could be the problem
as long as you haven't left the engine sitting with water for a long time you should be able to change the head and fix whatever caused the engine to overheat. The bottom end never gives issues in these if serviced. My dad bought his from an auction with a cooked head at 200,000 km. He replaced the head and it's now at 400 000km and still has 400 psi compression. Check out my cylinder head video
@@yd2532 thanks mate I bought from car yard had it a week it over heated the replaced head already also don't intercooler and something else but warranty ran out and now as soon as you start it it bubbles right away kinda sucks but yeeah I think I'll just sell it I've had a bad run

Probably another d22 bolt on build and a 140kw D40 bolt on build. The yd25s have a bigger fuel system then the d23s
Was the handbrake on for the 0-100 pull?
Nope it's just slow as. Way slower then other d40s I've driven

Andy codes?. Sounds like it's not getting fuel, could be a bad fuel filter or bad scv
@@yd2532 only a p0113 and replaced maf sensor already and checked wiring

@@ALFAMUSIC2 never had this issue before Mabey blow all the connections clean on the wiring and see if it helps. Does it idle ok?
@@yd2532 at first It was shaking and running rough and then it was fine, question when putting cams at tdc are they all closed or there are some open

I’m gonna run a pulsar gtx2867 gen 2 turbo mishimoto intercooler and full exhaust

would go good. Just get the tightest ar you can for the hotside. Otherwise if you can get a g25 550 with a .49 that would be the best.
