In the EU the engine fitted with the vane pump is known as the Euro 5 version (2011 onwards), the older Euro 4 emissions standard engine (2006/11) is the one with the gear type pump. You can fit the old style pump onto the newer engine minus the feed pipe as per the video. It's also a cheaper pump to buy!😊
Why do some of the geard pumps for 3.2 ranger retain the oil feed and some geard pumps do not.. Whats the difference of blocking off the oil feed vs retaining the oil feed back to geard pump?
So how do you remove the sump after removing all the bolts while the engine is still in the car? The sump is virtually welded to the block and almost impossible to break the seal?????
Hi, Firstly thanks for all your efforts with the great informative videos! I would really appreciate some advice, I am in Thailand and bought a 2014 ranger wildtrack 2.2 120,000km. The ford dealership just links to their laptop and tells me there's no problem. Symptons: - lose of power when starting to accelerate in low gears - twice i have been approaching/going up a steep hill changed down to 2nd had no power and then down to 1st and also had no power and the vehicles stalled - slightly rough idling (only a little) and also a shudder when turning off the engine From everything I have seen online I am thinking I need to clean and blank off the EGR cooler, but I would really really appreciate some professional advice! Thanks so much in advance!
It is possible on the ford transit, a bit of jiggling about to get the pick up off then the sump slides out revealing the oil pump, not sure about other vehicles, it all depends on how close to the sump the cross member is
But does the Standard engine have a oil pressure relief valve or does the new oil pump have one. Judging by the castings on the new pump there is an internally recirculative pressure relief circuit. 4:33 that cylindrical casting is a pressure relief valve ON THE OLD PUMP !!!!!!!!. Why T F does a variable oil pump have a PRV ?
im waiting on my geared pump to arrive, Had ordered that before i even picked up my Wildtruk, (2015 model, S/Hand} slightly higher would be nice but not too much to cause seals to leak.
I found out that the issue I was running into was that the vacuum pump was not engaging with the camshaft because when I reinstalled the vacuum pump it was not aligned with my camshaft and pushed the camshaft forwards 4mm in the head. that's why I commented asking if the pump would cause higher oil pressure as I thought that there was too much oil entering the vacuum pump causing it to not have any vacuum.
Let's see you do that?? I believe cross member needs cutting or engine removed. Love to see it done with engine in car and I will be doing it next week😊

Ye you can drain the oil for as long as you want
