The carter black will self regulate to around 15PSI, as you have an over-touchy sensor, look at a regulator up front and also run a fresh supply line to front that is bigger and use the current supply line as the return.
Great work great to see a yd engine being tuned. I'm in UK and have had a primera with the yd22dtti 139hp stock. I've had it a bit over a year and so far my mods consist of the egr blanked, cat on exhaust been stripped out. Straight through side exit. Cold air feed into stock air box. Large twin pass front mount intercooler. Upgraded hoses hard pipe. I've been racing and keeping up with cars running around 230hp. I can pull 2 tonne no problem like I could have another 500kg. Honestly it sounds so good too! It's pretty much identical to the yd25, except the injectors and fuel pump is smaller and is 2.2cc and has a gt1856 rather than the 2056. I believe the actual engine block itself is identical. I've been trying to find out if the hp fuel pump, injectors, and turbo off the yd25, will bolt straight on to my yd22. Hybrid the gt2056, mechanical boost controller. Stronger clutch. I would be grateful for your thoughts on this. As there is virtually no yd22 that's been modified, and like you've discovered with the yd25 capabilities I think the yd22 also has something else to offer :)
Always have defended the yd25 being a good strong motor proves as long as you manage heat they are quite strong. Did you do the rod and main bolts with arp hardware as well? pretty insane amount of power you are running
That’s awesome mate! I’ve had my d22 since new from 2013, running 35s front rear lockers stronger machined front diff Input shaft with long travel cvs from USA and a gt2056v turbo running 19psi, I just did cape York the nav was awesome! My question is how much power can you go kinda safe I still struggle to toe my boat about 2tonne and would like to ramp it up a bit
absolutely love your videos on this build. how does the clutch hold up with the crazy high torque? im in the process of pushing my d40 with some serious mods like you have done. im just not sure if i should consider upgrading the clutch
We have a custom clutch. It's the heaviest duty excedy pressure plate then we swapped the material on the clutch to Kevlar. Feels like a stock clutch and holds the power
@@swanny19881 I think we got the pressure plate from direct clutch services just ask for the heaviest duty excedy pressure plate it's black instead of pink
This thing is siiick! I just got a double cab version, whats a safe power without opening up the motor? Went from a 350kw territory to this so more power would be nice 😅
Hi, awesome work you have done 👌🏻 Did i understand correctly that you have stock engine internals and just arp headstuds? Im wondering what my stock fuel system and engine can take, i have navara d40 2.5dci 174hp. Do you know how far you can push with stock head bolts 🤔
Stock head bolt limit is around 35psi boost. I've seen stock engines make 260whp. I have other videos showing the engine build and the stock fuel system tune
I still would like to know which is better between the two, which is why I clicked. Although the information provided is clutch anyway. How does the tunability of the 4jj1 stack up against the yd25? Is it something that you have played around with to find out? How much is the cost of modifying it to this point using the catalogue on your site?
YD25 is a better quality engine because they were made in japan. 4JJ1 is made in Thailand so the castings arnt as good. If you get a yd25 it's important you fix the reliability issues first yd25.com.au/index.php/yd25-maintenance
D22 yd25 is more reliable and stronger engine just gotta upgrade the timing chains. I've had customers up to 700 000km on their yd25 d22. Zd30 d22s have issues with the fuel pump
we don't do the compound turbos as a kit but we will be doing a bolt-on d40 build with a custom turbo that hopefully will make around 250whp. That's an easy more affordable option for people.
@@yd2532 ha ha, yeah I’m the same, live everyday on the edge 😆 around 25’000km and 40 1/4mile passes. @300hp but it’s had about 125,000 and 180-200 1/4mile passes @over 210hp.
Dude your channel is underrated. I was considering selling my d22 for a hilux but now I don’t see the point. Yd25 definitely does the job
What a sleeper. You'd never expect one of those to be quick lol.
Nice work lads, I’d have never thought this was possible with a yd25.
This is really a great news, totally boost up my feeling about my YD25 thankyou so much! 🇲🇾

Going to have to put it on a hub dyno soon with that much power, great work 💪.
Its on a hub dyno in the video lol

Wild! Love seeing what you can get this engine to do.
Dude thanks a bunch for posting the build. Definitely keen to source this stuff for my own D40.
We are doing a D40 build very soon
@yd2532 definitely keen for that mate.

I think it isn't better than the 4J but YD25 has some amazing potential
I see you got more air into it and less soot. Still some room to go though as the soot is wasted fuel.
yd25 (non CR) and p7100 pump 400hp build? its posible

Depending on the tune it can make full boost by 2500rpm

The afr is scary af 😨
I need some parts for the yd25 engine
hey man whats your opinion on the tdc power chips for the yd25 navaras would u stay away or use one thanks for your input
Most chips just up the fuel rail pressure. It will make more power but a proper dyno tune is best

Yes
What gearbox are you using with the engine?
Stock gearbox

Getting to a almost full race car
Put it on the 1/4 mile see what your times would be
It's got the power to do 12 sec 1/4 but I can't get the grip. Best I've done is a 14.5
