Using GoPro's in caves and on night dives will need the right settings to get the most desirable results.... This video will cover two different directions that you can go with on your approach to low light your settings. One option will get you the most detail in the shadows while the other option will get a clean image with minimal digital noise.

I am Snorkeling in Turks and Caicos in Feb. I just bought the gopro 12. Will I need a housing if i am just snorkeling?
Can i use these settings with a Underware case and Red filter? I use to dive between 12 to 25 meters. Thx!
Yes you can but the red filter isn’t necessary even at the depth, the WB should be able to take care of itself without it

We use the insta360 3 for our mermaid videos. I just got the 4 for my pod. I'm so excited to use it!!! I live in Hawaii so I get to shoot when I'm not at work!!! Gotta hustle for my big girl gadgets.
Just got my Hero13 delivered but I notice it has some bubbles that come out when submerged. Is this normal? I don’t want the camera to break
It’s probably fine but I like to use the underwater housing just to be sure
If you're just using this underwater it seems like the only reason to buy the 13 over the 12 is because future models (might) be compatible with the 13 battery? Other than that, the 12 seems just as good underwater?
Yeah I agree and to be honest I prefer the way the WB looks coming out of the Hero 12.

Thanks scott, there is also the "HLG HDR" mode. This looks much brighter in dark lite situation outside of the water. Is there any reason not use HDR under water?

Yes there is no red filter

I would love to see a comparison with and without the dive case.
Maybe that is worth doing…without the dive case you have a pretty large gap in the seam, but it could be worth it if you use this camera in single lens mode

What camera did you use to shoot the POV shots if you using the GoPro? Maybe it's the colour grading but it looks even better than the content off the GoPro 😅
I used the GoPro hero 12…which I feel like looks better than the hero 13 lol

Nice video.. I assume if u use the scuba casing the camera does not know its depth and defeats the purpose of the awb . Anyone tried it deeper than 60 ft without the case?
Yeah I was wondering the same thing, I’ll have to try it out on my next dive trip to see how well the auto WB works inside of the dive housing when the depth gauge is not engaged…but to answer your question, the depth gauge will not work inside the housing and the WB will be functioning normally
Looks like an OW dive camera and not an AOW camera lol … I’m just wondering if anyone has been brave enough to take this camera to 100-110ft without the case … if no failures at that point despite the printed depth limit then I think we are good!

Great video! I just opened the box and setting mine up using your advice. Only thing I cannot find is how to slow it down to "50%". Did you do that in Adobe Lightroom or do I need to keep digging in the manual?
Thank you! Adobe Lightroom is for photos, you will need to slow your footage down in some sort of video editing app like adobe premiere or maybe even iMovie which I believe can be free

It does not, you will want to set up presets each with different settings and switch between the presets while underwater by using the side button

Thanks! You will need to find a mask that has that GoPro style mount attached to it…the DJI magnetic mount then hooks to that

Great review thank you! I'm wondering how often does the auto white balance change between warm and cool? I thought this would only happen when you're changing depth by a lot, but it seems to happen at 6:28 even though you were pretty steady? I believe some reviewers also raised this issue with the OA4, so does that mean nothing has improved with OA5?
It usually isn’t an issue…it’s mainly when you are under something that is providing shade

Thank you! In my honest opinion I think you should just hold onto Hero 12…the quality in footage between the hero 12 and 13 are about the same…I do really like the DJI action 5 pro mainly because of its battery life, the footage looks great too. If the battery life justifies the upgrade I would say go with the DJI but I love the heron12 and there is nothing wrong with keeping it : )

What if I'm just like snorkeling depth, is there much difference with OS4 and OS5? Which is more beginner friendly. I've never had action camera before but would want to capture some underwater moments on my next snorkeling activity. 😅

Hi, since you have both dji oa4 and oa5, is os5 worth the upgrade, for diving purpose.
I think the battery life on the OS5 is enough of a jump in performance on its own to justify it…I like the way the WB performs better on the OS5 as well

I am assuming that you are talking about the Osmo Pocket? If so that camera does not go underwater

@@TRICK-OR-TREAT236 You should consider getting the Action 5, especially since it’s waterproof I just purchased one. However, the Pocket 3 is awesome as well, though it’s fragile if you’re not careful.
