Nice one Scott! Looks like a cool spot! You’ll have to talk to Dallas! He just demo’d a couple of dpv’s that are small and can attach to your arms or legs even. Would be handy for photography and stuff!
Ive found 3 different Apple watches at this spot. Only one worked and was able to be returned to the owner. Everyone jumps off the rocks and loses stuff here. If you have a boat and can dive on the other side of the old river channel its even cooler and better visibility
Yeah I was wondering what diving on the other side of the river channel is like…there is an island forming over there due to the low lake levels now, I’m wondering if it is worth paddling over there with the dive gear
@@scottbauerbelow A few weeks ago the water was still very green, but it may be getting better with the weather change. If you tie off to one of the fish structures on the island that are sticking out of the water now, you'll want to swim about 100-200 yards due east (toward overlook park), and at that spot there is a football field-sized gentle slope completely covered in cedar trees from 60-75 ft deep at the present level. For some reason this particular spot is immune to the usual murkiness and the water has been consistently much clearer than anywhere else I've been to in the lake, and the trees are just fun to swim through and there isn't too much fishing line despite it being a spot where huge schools of striped bass like to hang out. If you were to have swam NNE (toward the Dam) from the island, you'll hit more of a cliff with huge oak trees at about the same distance and depth, and you can plunge down to the bottom of the channel if you want. You can actually see old photos from before they flooded the reservoir: www.co.comal.tx.us/Historical/Canyon_Lake/Canyon_Lake-2.htm The immediate area around the island is flat and barren and terrible vis, but the cliff and cedar tree field are definitely worth finding albeit a bit tricky to find out in the middle of the lake especially if you can't use the island as a reference point. I want to get GPS coordinates on it one of these days and I also have an old map of Canyon lake that shows a cemetery on the south side of the island that I want to try and find.
Awesome vis...can't wait to dive there again!
Come on down!!
Very cool!!!
Thank you!
Nice!!
Visibility looked really good on your dives!
These lakes can be pretty good at the right times and places
Scott maybe you can get one of those scooters on a sponsorship just a thought. Very intreating place and yes a little creepy Thanks for sharing
Wouldn’t that be amazing lol, you are very welcome….hope you enjoyed it!
Nice video Scott! I really enjoyed it. Would love to do some diving in Texas
Let me know if you ever come down to this area!

I just saw that one!
That looked beautiful and just a little bit creepy, Scott. That underwater scooter looked fun, too.
Thank you! The creepiness makes it fun and mysterious
@@scottbauerbelow it sure does!
Mysterious, but also a little creepy 😁 I'm usually diving at North Park, but I would like to hopefully try this place one day.
This spot is right next to north park!
Fun video Scott 🙌🏻 btw did you use new camera for the office shots?
I did! I used the A7IV
@Scott Bauer Below nice! The difference is huge
Is the visibility here any better than the scuba ranch?
Usually it is but maybe not right now as the water is very low
