I was blessed to dive Roatan in the mid 1970’s. It truly was a beautiful beautiful dive. The resorts were a lot more rustic than in this video. Thanks for the memories! Howdy from SE Texas 🤠
@@scottbauerbelow yes they did! We purchased a home in Belize in 2002 and have dove the Blue Hole many times and the changes to the barrier reef have been unbelievable.
Love CoCo View! The production value of this video is amazing. Very well done. The narration and pace are spot one and great transitions ! Awesome job. Hi Gringo!
I went to Roatan in 2022 and had such an amazing time. It was my first international dive trip. The staff at Coco view was amazing, and they went above and beyond. So far, I have been on four international dive trips.
Very nicely produced. Deserves way more likes ❤️ I have been to Roatan 5 times throughout the years and also noticed the difference in the reefs. Hopefully it’s not too late…
@@scottbauerbelow So well done, amazing work. I'm shifting from photo to video with my Sony this year, trying to soak up all the cool shot ideas I can, and figure out lighting.
Beautiful dive. Out of all the dive videos, I have yet to see black coral. My uncle gave my mom black coral before it was illegal to pick them, and that was decades ago. I just moved out of hawaii, and I gave the coral to my dtr. I wasn't going to take the chance to pack it in the POD. Its more sentimental than the value of it.
Excellent Video ! CoCo View and Roatan are on the top of my bucket list. However, health is not permitting me to currently go. Sad to hear about the coral bleaching. Was disappointed with the visibility in the video.
Sorry to hear that, I hope you can get out to Roatan sometime soon. The vis in cocoview can be a hit and miss based on the tides drawing dirty water in and out of the lagoon
I went to Roatan in 2018 and then recently this May 2024. Sadly the biomass is no longer the same. During my first trip, you can see so many fish, wall dives were literally full of all kind of marine animals. Sadly this last trip, there was barely any fish, the night dive was the same, quite bare. I did 5 days of diving on only on of those days we saw significant amount of sea life but we had to go farther. Spoke to some other divers and they said the same 😢
Absolutely! Hope to catch you in San Marcos! I was shooting with a Sony A7IV on my wide shots and a Sony a6700 with the 90mm macro lens for my macro shots…
@@scottbauerbelow I believe I saw your dive buddy doing his/her orientation dive. It is the first time I have ever seen anyone diving doubles there...Great video by the way! Which editing program do you use?

I bet the reefs looked very different during that time, probably a lot more pillar coral as well as fields of staghorn

This is beautiful. Nicely done. The lighting, color, shots and transitions were so engaging. Out of curiosity, what was everything shot with?

Thank you! I thought the grove of black coral on the wall was interesting as well, I haven’t seen too much of it elsewhere
Awesome video Scott! I’m curious to see if creation has the ability to recover from the effects of these events!
Keep em comin!
Thank you sir! Will do and much appreciated
Amazing 🤩
Thank you!
Amazing footage! Did you use the osmo action 4 for the underwater shots?
Thank you! On this video I shot with my Sony A7IV and my Sony a6700…these are both great mirrorless cameras

I heard the same. So sad.
Amazing footage, thanks for sharing. Hey, will Cocoview rent tanks and allow shore diving their in-house reef, if I am staying somewhere else?
Thank you very much! I’m not really sure about that
The second largest reef system in the world is beautiful
Awesome video Scott. Were headed there in three weeks so I shared it with our group. What camera did you use to film this? See you at Spring Lake.

Were you just down there at Cocoview about two weeks ago? And was the guy with doubles a new diver doing the orientation dive on Sunday?
Yeah, we were there in early May
