    Cost is the issue for me. I’m an ASE certified master technician and a Toyota certified master technician. I have thoughts of either building my own garage or doing mobile. Currently working for a shop 5 min away from home making $30 an hour, hourly not flat rate. I have land, but a garage is going to cost me $25,000, and a truck is oddly more expensive than that now 🤦‍♂️

    Thanks so much for taking the time to document this repair. Rats had chewed off the wires to two of the four knock sensors on my 2008 Tundra. By watching this video I was able to do the repair myself in about 5-6 hours. I took my time and labeled each wire connector or hose as I disconnected them and got up to #22. This made putting everything back together pretty easy. Before I reinstalled the new wire harness, I wrapped it all with several additional layers of electrical tape, sprayed clear coat paint over the tape, and then sprinkled a bunch of cayenne pepper on the wet clear coat. Hopefully those darn rats leave it alone now. As you mentioned, the hardest part was getting those two back electrical bracket connectors released. Thanks again, you rock!

    So kinda running into tbe same problem except the controller will be fine for a couple minutes and will then start flashing n.c. and then maybe 10 seconds or so itll go back to reading the breaks again where u see .c and when breaks are pushed u can see the gain levels rise. Itll keep repeating that process. I thought maybe a bad ground cause i ran all new wiring around the whole trailer but used the existing power and ground coming out of the drums. Doni think grounding each break individually to the frame would fix or is this something else.. thanks in advance for any help.

    This is my second time in 2 yrs watching your video (great video by the way) doing this. I have a 02 CRV 228,000 and it blew a 1078. And a P0137 - bank1 sensor2 02 sensorI guess, circuit low volts. I cleared the codes and after 100 or so miles the p1078 only came back for the 2nd or 3rd I guess. I clean the s*** out of it the first time. Im not new to wrenching. I been doing most my work on the my older cars for over 35 to 40 yrs. Sorry My question is there a way to test some of these parts on this IMRC? Diaphragm, IMAC Position sensor, hoses check out. This car i got from my son fixed a few things and been enjoying it. Its also blows a P1457 (evap leak code i guess) for yrs. As far as I know its not a easy fix. Iv tried a few things. Sorry for long mesg.

    How about this twist - I use same brake controller on my expedition and my titan. When I plug brake controller into expedition, trailer works great. When I plug same controller into Titan, the trailer doesn't respond. All voltage looks good at plug on Titan with controller plugged in, I checked each 7 pin for function and voltage. Trailer also works on Titan without brake controller. Where do I start, geez@@@!!! lol

      For one don't use an extension cord especially a cheap one. And for two lug nuts have this way of seizing. Make sure you have good quality lug nuts because certain kinds will expand and that is not the tools fault.

I went and got one from another rig and noticed that the Ford Factory plug in the cab has Ground, Brake pedal Power but the Battery Voltage lead in the plug is dead. The Fuse is good so any idea where I could look next? Appreciate it.

    Sorry, can't agree with this review. Mine broke after less than two years of very light home use. I took it apart and several ball bearings were sheared in half. Also, there is no way it ever got close to 1050 ft lbs. It had trouble with the lug nuts on my 3/4 ton pickup - lug nuts that were removed less than a year previously, and not used in a salt/rust environment. I broke them free with ease with a breaker bar. This thing is a total piece of junk in my experience.

    • @seanbutler2291
      @seanbutler2291 21 день тому

      The motherfuker costs 50 bucks if you get a year out of it you got your money's worth. Also if you use an extension cord then yeah it's going to be a little lacking in power especially if it's some regular ass cheap extension cord. Also cheap lug nuts have this way of expanding and getting seized, it's not about the rust. And finally you may very well have gotten a dud. You did after all by the cheap tool so you got what you paid for. You still got almost 2 years of use out of it so you really don't have a single thing to complain about. Overall is the tool piece of junk or is it just you? I think you can guess where I'm leaning

    • @traumamed9449
      @traumamed9449 20 днів тому

      @seanbutler2291 It's a piece of junk. You're entitled to your opinion though. Appreciate your input, but it isn't well-informed on my use case. I didn't get two years of use out of it bc it was wholly inadequate for every job on which I tried to use it. Every single time I pulled it out, it was too anemic to do anything, so I would just resort to muscling things with a breaker bar, or hassling with getting my air tools out. I have since moved on to a more reputable but $$$$ brand for an electric impact and have been very happy.

    Hello there. I have a U-Haul trailer ( tandom) with the Prodigy brake system. Recently went out, but two small red light are on, so I know there is power. It worked intermittently, and now it is completely out. You mentioned in this video that it could be a couple of things. One being ground and I’m not sure what the other was. I don’t believe you covered what the other possibility could be.

    I found a fix for my Nissan Armada. I have a RedArc controller and it was flashing, not detecting the trailer brakes. I did the usual (disconnected and reconnected brake controller, cleaned the connectors at the back using spray etc, nothing). I got my multimeter and selected 12v DC, and switched the Armada on (engine running). Connected the black probe to the negative terminal on the 7 way connector (truck) and red to the brake controller pin (truck) and sure enough I got only 3.5 volts. So the problem was in the Nissan. I checked the fuse boxes (I have 4) and there was a couple of blown ones. I swapped the brake controller relay (it wasn't this) and FINALLY I opened the fuse box with the MPF fuses. These are little boxes with 3 fuses built in, mine was red. Took it out and bam, centre 30a fuse was blown. This was the issue. My Armada is 13 years old. So, before you go looking at trailer brake wires, blue wires etc etc, check the MPF fuses. Part number for mine was 24370. Be mindful the connectors are two horizontal and 2 vertical on the underside. Pull it out with needle nose pliers to check. Best of luck people.
