🔴Literati Japanese Maple Bonsai Repot
Переглядів 3,3 тис.2 роки тому
#bonsai #japanesemaplebonsai I haven't had much experience with deciduous until I received this tree about 4 years ago. I have a family friend who usually has 20-30 seedlings grow in their yard every year. I asked if I could have a couple. This tree is one that I haven't done anything with and just let it grow as I wanted to do more research. This is how it grew naturally and instead of air lay...

Azalea Bonsai Repot - Hino Crimson 100% Kanuma
Переглядів 2,8 тис.2 роки тому
This Azalea was in a mix of pumice, lava, pine bark and kanuma. The tree is healthy but not as healthy as I would like it to be. I decided to move it into 100% Kanuma and change the pot size. The original pot felt a tad bigger that I would like. Please consider subscribing. It's free and if you truly do not like the content I provide, unsubscribing is just as easy =D
Shimpaku Juniper Bonsai Styling - NEW LOOK!
Переглядів 2,1 тис.2 роки тому
I've had this tree since 2016 and always wondered how I could make this tree stand out. The top and bottom of the tree had too much space and just didn't make an interesting look. I decided to make the hard decision to completely change the tree in. I believe it paid off. What do you think? This of course is the first iteration of the tree. I will continue to refine the pads and clean up more o...
Bonsai Spruce Emergency Re-pot - Roots ripping the pot
Переглядів 8022 роки тому
I've grown this tree for 6 years now from seed. I put it in that pot about 3 years ago. Due to lots of fertilize and sun, it has grown vigorously and ripping the pot. Lets hope this repot rejuvenates the tree!
Bonsai Japanese Flowering Quince - Toyo Nishiki Air layer
Переглядів 3,8 тис.2 роки тому
#bonsai #floweringquincebonsai This branch was already slated to be cut off. Due the angle it seemed like it could make an interesting piece of material. I also don't have to buy another Quince due to the airlayer!
Shohin Scots Pine Bonsai Repot
Переглядів 1,6 тис.2 роки тому
#bonsai #pnwbonsai This Scots Pine was in dire need of a re-pot. I noticed last season that the water wasn't draining through the pot very well. This was due to the tree being pot bound, but also there was organic matter in the soil composition as well. Also there have been buds on most of the branches for the past 2 grow seasons and have yet to pop out. I chose not to cut many roots as I didnt...

    That's a lovely Japenese Maple bonsai. I have some of these plants now but my favourite is still my Dad's Sycamore he planted for me 24 years ago. I still have it featured on my youtube logo and also in many of my videos. Thanks for sharing :)

      Hello Alex, so I start fertilizing around the end of February and each month until May. After decandling in June, I do not add fertilizer until around November.

    Thank you for the nice videos. I only have a question. I see after candlecutting in winter to two cadles, there is only one candle emerging from the buds in spring. With my tree there are already 4 or 5 buds ready to burst in spring. Do you reduce these buds already to one with a pincet in winter or do I wait until summer to cut off all five? I hope you understand my question. Thank you in advance.

    What fertilizer would you recommend for pines and junipers

    • @PNWBonsai
      @PNWBonsai 11 місяців тому

      I prefer organic fertilizer since it promotes a healthy microbial environment within the pot. Microbes are important for mycorrhizae (good fungus for conifers, helps trees with coarse root systems absorb nutrients) to thrive within the pot.

    • @PNWBonsai
      @PNWBonsai 11 місяців тому

      As far as brand goes, I use Biogold, but any organic fertilizer will work. DR. Earth is a good one and easy to find
