Often people believe during the practice of bonsai, we starve the tree and the trees are neglected. This is a very common misconception as the trees get far more care and attention then they would ever as a landscape tree or a tree struggling in the mountains. We fertilize the tree to provide nutrients the tree needs to thrive in its enclosed environment. The work we perform would kill the tree's if they weren't healthy.

Another great video, thank you! Great idea clumping the fert as it helps to stay a bit moister. I've experimented with putting spagnum moss in the tea bags to help retain moisture too.

Doesn`t fert. pines now make longer needles? I thought a person waited till the needles hardened off. I do have a lot to learn. Thanks again.

For my black pines, I fertilize until May to prep for decandling. Once I decandle, I don't fertilize until Fall time. Once I'm done recording my black pine decandling video it will give more context!

Can you recommend how frequently do you fertilise bonsai trees using liquid fertiliser it's so inconsistent on the internet so much confusion and so much contradiction some say once a week some say every two weeks some say every month in the growing season can you give any advice ?? Thanks
