I find myself returning to this video every day. We have very long winters here so its always hard waiting for spring. Videos like this help me a lot. Dan Robinson's garden and Bonsai in particular are some of the most inspiring to me, even though I've only seen them in books and videos. If you haven't already, be sure to read Gnarly Branches, Ancient Trees. This man's path to the art is incredible. He essentially INTUITED Bonsai through careful observation of trees in the wild before really getting involved with other artists. And if I'm not mistaken, he developed a root enhancement technique for drastically improving survivability of collected trees that we all use today! His work fascinates me. And I truly love how his aesthetic sensibilities are pulled almost exclusively from observation of nature rather than theory. Thanks for posting this video!

Fantastic video! Dan is coming down to demo at our club show in Oakland. Would you be OK if we played this for the room when we introduce him?
Absolutely you can! Dan is such a down to earth guy, I hope your club has an amazing experience with him!
What type of camera are you working with?
Canon SL2/200D with the Sigma 18-35mm Art Lens
