Just staked mine with a pole! Funny enough one of the reasons I felt connected to your channel was seeing your giant peace lily video and seeing your micans. Both of which I have as well and love dearly!
Ive propagated philodendrons, phothos, etc in water no problem but my micans cutting never rooted and just died. I was sooooo sad! Hopefully it works better for me in moss😅
Thanks for sharing this video. Love your micans. I purchased two small 2 1/2 inch pots about 2 months ago and it has been growing beautifully. Such a pretty plant.
Thanks for making this video! Have been looking forward to this one and think it'll be worth getting the moisture meter to keep my new micans alive! The one I had bought before had mealy bugs and after taking it out of the pot it actually had root rot as well.. Was so annoyed as I spent £20 on a basically dead plant haha. Have gotten a new one that looks a lot healthier for sure so fingers crossed!
I’ve been looking forward to seeing a notification for this video since you mentioned it in the last one! Always giving us the best content 🌱✨ Not sure if you know the answer, but I will ask just in case! Is it normal for the back of the leaves to transition from red to green overtime, or would this be due to a light issue? I brought mine home expecting more red but it seems like only certain leaves have it.
thank you amelia!! as for your leaves - i am not 100% sure. i do believe the maturity of the plant affects leaf color but i haven't had any of my leaves transition from red to green. so, my best guess is light. if anyone else sees this, please feel free to weigh in! lol
Love this! I watched your moss pole video and will be making one today! May I ask how many Micans cuttings you started with in your pot? Thanks so much!
Can you get into the ariel roots a bit? I have a thriving micas, just today learning the plant actually is. Anyways I'm ready to transplant, the vines are a good 6' but I haven't begun yet because I'm unsure about the ariel roots. Will they take in soil? Awesome video BTW, I may try out a moss tower with the new micans
Hi Kat! Very helpful video. I just got my Micans last week! Quick question, do you recommend misting them? Would it not have a negative effect on the velvety foliage?
i actually don't like misting in general! however, i will say these plants are a lot less particular about moisture on their leaves than some other textured plants (ahem begonias). to be safe, i still wouldn't mist but you don't have to go as far as bottom watering.
I wish more creators used humidity percentages. What is “normal” to you guys could be high to me. One girl I watched said “oh I have normal household humidity... it’s like 60%” ⬅️⬅️⬅️⬅️THAT is extremely high for me!! My “normal” is 35%-45%. The humidity in my house has never naturally reached 60%. Please be more clear about percentages. 😇 other than that I enjoy your videos! Your absolutely adorable!🥰
What is your soil? Like what mix , brand, alterations etc. Please lmk. I have 60 plants but cannot get micans to be happy for NOTHING. PLEASE RESPOND 😭 I'M DESPERATE
@Jesusand Houseplants I've figured them out since I posted this, they really are doing well with very minimal watering. If the soil is damp at all, I don't water. Only when it's bone dry do I water.
oh no 😭 if i’m struggling with a plant sometimes i’ll try to change 1 aspect of their care and monitor for the next two weeks and see what the plants reaction is. and i’ll keep doing that till i narrow down the problems. easier said than done though lol
Why do people talk about North facing and South facing windows? Sun rises in the east and sets in the west and is brightest from the windows in these directions, right?
Best Micans care video on youtube I've seen. Great job! :)
you're too kind!! thank you!
truuue that
My philodendron micans has literal leaves every 2-3 days😳 such a fast growing plants!!
How? Spill the beans 😂. Lighting condition, fertilisers, temp, humidity, tell us everything.
This was so informative thank you! I got my micans a few weeks ago after it being in my Etsy cart for over a year. I’m so happy with this plant!
Same!! I have wanted one for SO long and pulled the trigger like 2 weeks ago and I decided to prop it today bc I want mine fuller lol
I'm getting a Micans cutting in a few days so I'm so glad I found this video to give me some great info!! Thanks so much ❤

Great video!! I have one and have been stumped on watering so this helped me feel more confident that I’ve been doing ok with that!
yay!! yeah, watering is one of the trickiest parts of caring for a micans 😖
@@GoodandPlanty so true because you’re right...the leaves take forever to start to curl! So I don’t like to wait that long 😬😅
I’m actually on time today!!!
Micans is my fav 🥺
I really hope all of mine can be as big and beautiful as yours one day!!!
i'm sure it will be!! they are so beautiful at any size 🤩
you need a pole, moss pole or have them climb your wall. otherwise leaf size wont increase, rather decrease
Great video! My first Mican is currently in the mail. Such good information! Thank you so much!!!!
i cant wait to get my hands on a micans someday! i never see them around where i live
i have slowly seen them become more common again! some nurseries by me that didn't have them before now carry them. hopefully you find one!
Mine just arrived today. Doggone Amazon has them surprisingly. The thing actually looks good.

I’ve see similar ones at Michael’s craft store.
Hey Kat, your tips for the peace lily helped SO much :') I then gave it a good water in the shower. It's now back to it's old self. Thank you!

Micans goals. 😍 What do you think about a coconut coir pole instead?
i want to try it! don't have any experience though.
Thank you for the info. Got me thinking! 👍🏼

MY FAV PLANT OF YOURS
such an informative queen.
i try :-)
You inspired me to get a Micans. It’s beautiful and I absolutely love it… mine is a sad boi though and I’m super stressed 😂😳😭
thanks for the timestamps :)
Love this! I watched your moss pole video and will be making one today! May I ask how many Micans cuttings you started with in your pot? Thanks so much!
the baby pot probably has around 10 cuttings in it
Your plant is beautiful
I am trying to train my Micans up a column.
Very informative video. Do you recommend coco coir instead of organic soil and do they do ok in terracotta pots?
your micans looks so cute
she really is a cutie 😌
omg I love you SO MUCH!
instant sub.
Me too she’s so natural, and nice and cute 🥰♥️ not to mention straight to the point, and good info 🌱💚

You can root those aerial roots in water.. they will grow white roots then repot 😊
Thanks for the tips!
Your micans is absolutely stunning!! Just got some and I've got a moss pole like your's coming for it! so excited!!
ahhh how exciting! great idea on the moisture meter 😏

hello where did you purchase that trellis pole? Thank you
i keep hearing you say you do trades with the micans cuttings? what does that mean?
sometimes you can swap plant cuttings with people! it’s a great way to grow your collection for free :)

thank you courtney! to clarify, any humidity from 35-60% is fine. you can also go a little lower or higher - the plant doesn’t care that much!
i’ll add a disclaimer though: it’s fine with a wide range of humidity as long as it is acclimated to receive that
Wow look at you looking FLAWLESS
OH PLEASE 💚
Internodal (stem)
cutting and Apical (tip) cuttings are the terms.
THANK YOU! lol
great video
thanks!
