Micans are fussy but once they start growing the don't stop. They love a nice shower so either put it in your shower or leave it outside in the rain during spring and summer.
I agree! Starting micans from propagation was so tricky at first but once they get rooted and growing it's super easy😅. And yes they do like the occasional shower😊
I agree, micans grow better in brighter light. I have several and the ones that are in brighter light have bigger leaves and have a wonderful bronze color.
Hello dear. 🌴....Your post could not have been more timely for me! I JUST finished repotting two of my 6-inch Micans and I am PRAYING that they will one day grow to be as healthy and as large as yours! I received some orchid bark and pumice today that I ordered from Amazon, so I hope it works because I killed a couple of Micans last year due to over-watering and not having a well-draining soil. Yesterday, I watered them and it was a good thing that I checked the soil today because it was still very wet! So I repotted them both after letting the roots sit in a a Hydrogen Peroxide mix and then sprinkling some Ceylon Cinnamon on the roots. If this doesn't work, then I don't know what will. One of them is in 95% pumice in a wide holeless glass jar. I kept it in it's original soil and surrounded that soil with pumice, as well. (I tried to create a self-watering situation like the one on the Swedish Plant Guys UA-cam channel about using pumice in houseplants.🌴 With my other one, I repotted it with a new dry soil that has orchard bark, Perlite, pumice, and the soil the plant came with. I That one has about 50% pumice in the mix. Phew! I hope it work! Also, both ants will be receiving lots of indirect light from a South-East facing window. And I don't mind if I have to water it often:). Any suggestions? Thanks for sharing your experience with the P. Micans!🌴🧡
Hey!😊 Honestly, you got the most important steps down! I have hope that the new soil with the orchid bark, perlite, and pumice should do well. In my experience, they do better with a chunky soil mixture, and with the extra added amendments you can water it thoroughly knowing that it most likely will not get root rot because the soil is airy and water can pass through allowing the roots to not sit in wet dense soil. I water my Micans once I see a few of the leaves curl inward, but it also helps to stick your finger in the soil and makes sure it's dry (or use a moisture meter). Also, for plants that are rehabbing, I also like to pot them in clear/transparent pots so I can keep an eye on the roots! I hope this helps, please keep me updated on it!❤
@@KoasPlantCorner Thanks, sweetheart. I will definitely keep you posted! My son visited and told me that I don't need any more plants, but if I can get a few Micans, a few Scindapsus varieties, and a couple of Cebu Blues going well, then I would be very grateful.🙂 I don't need an indoor forest, just some plants on each floor of my house. Currently, I have about 15 plants in my entire house, and that is fine with me! I do love hanging plants, though. I also have a few floor plants and some small potted plants.🧡🌴
Heyyy!🥰 Thank you for watching and I'm so happy you enjoyed it!🥲💞 I'm actually preparing for a planty update video of all of my care guide plants, so please stay tuned!😊
Thanks!🥰 I find that when Micans are trailing, the leaves get smaller or remain the same size. If you want larger leaves try growing it up a moss pole! The aerial roots need to be rooted in the pole and after some time, the leaves will size up! Hope this helps!❤
They definitely take a bit of a learning curve and they are pest prone for me😅. They hate being underwatered and they love bright light. Definitely give them another try, they're so worth it!🥰
@@KoasPlantCorner Thanks, they're so beautiful. I decided to stick this new plant in a home made mix of pon with fluval and worm castings for nourishment. If that doesn't work, I have no idea what else to do.

No wayy!!! Hi Koa!🤣🤣🤣
Can a Micans be potted in a self-watering pot? Mine seems to be dry all the time
They definitely can! I've seen them thrive in soilless substrates like PON and they love self watering pots😊
Loved this! 😄
Aw, thankss!!🥰🥰
