Not sure honestly. I know you can buy it if you mail them as its not on the site but perhaps they are still improving on some points before they really make it publically available
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Everyone who tried the base seems to have encountered a problem... that was the reason why they canceled the release of this base
@@THESHADOW97139 I checked with CAMMUS. It will indeed not be officially released in 2023, but rather postponed (with another naming convention?) to 2024. Its good actually. It really didn't measure up to novelty and the quality of the C5. I was a bit disappointed with it.
@@SimulatedDrivingResource 👍In this case, I will wait, to see what they will be able to do. I'm not too surprised by your conclusion on the comparison with the c5. On paper, the c5 was ultimately too close and at the same time, its innovative design would not have allowed the lp8 to express itself. Either they pursue the c5 concept on a 10nm base, or they aim for more than 10nm on a conventional base... and in this case, they will be too close to their 15nm base.... I'm waiting to see what they're going to do
These days with all the competition out there, it is important that we look at all to broaden our scope. Succes with finding the right wheelbase for yourself 👍
Fanatec (yeah, I know) now sells an (5+3) 8 Nm base for €300 if bought together with a wheel and pedals. McLaren GT3 200, CSL 80. Surprisingly affordable from an established brand (and yeah, I heard!). Delivery date may be the interesting part.
@@Cloxxki absolutely a good deal. Fanatec is really pushing hard on sales. Very nice offers indeed still in 2024. Still, the Cammus C12 (wheelbase +steering wheel) at 507€ is very sharp too. And delivery dates... yeah well. You get lucky or you dont I guess. 😎
@@SimulatedDrivingResource The amazing thing is that I have encountered both of these. I live in Taiwan, and it seems that Taiwan cannot purchase directly from Fanatec’s official website, so the most convenient way is to ask a purchasing agency to help me place an order. I placed the order on January 27, 2024, and the goods arrived on 2/7. The arrival speed was so fast that even I was surprised. But~~~I ordered 8nm, but Fanatec Japan shipping station gave me 5nm. I asked the purchasing company to help me inquire about the power supply. The answer from Fanatec Japan Shipping Station was: "Agree" to replace the 8nm, but I need to pay the cost of entering Taiwan Customs. On 3/26, I received the goods and entered the customs. Notice, the 8NM power supply should arrive at my home in the next few days.
I recently bought the Cammus C5 after watching your review and I am in love with it. I love the design of the LP8 but I think the general consensus is that 8Nm falls a bit short in general. Hopefully Cammus is working on some LP12 and LP16. I really like the T818 and I considered one, but after one year they only have 1 wheel with the modern quick release. Also no Black Friday deals. It is like they dont care. Or maybe they cant make enough. So better wait and see.
I absolutely adore the C5 for so many reasons. Glad I was able to help you with the choice. And I am not sure for the LP8. It does have the power, enough power for me anyways, but it misses something in terms of driving sensation to really blow away the competition in the segment. As for Thrustmaster... Well.. I just hope they step up a bit more in 2024. Have a very nice end of the year friend!
Another great review my friend!!! I think based on price alone the CAMMUS wins I have owned TM in the past, a TS-XW SPARCO wheel. The ecosystem is by far one of the best but still all at a hefty price. I hope CAMMUS can one day have the same volume of accessories and extras so they can take over the world 😂😂😂😂
Yeah that price is really sharp. I would have thought perhaps TM would adapt a bit but I guess they sell those T818's a lot if they dont see the need to lower the price. Have a fantastic end of the year friend 💙
J'ai fais le test avec le nouveau soft et il etait après une heure 7° moins (56 au lieu de 63) mais c'etait aussi plus froid dans la garage donc je sais pas si le test etait representable. J'attends aussi qq reponses de la part de Cammus.

I know. And its a decent wheel, as is the 599xx, but when I drive, it is without gloves. I just prefer the touch of moomoo when the wheel glides through my hands 😕
@Neosphinx I agree. The round wheel on my sim is the leather 330mm fanatec one. I can't remember, can you swap the TM sparco wheel for the same wheel but leather?
the cammus definitely looks to be much better value here. for the price of the t818, you might as well get a moza r12. can you compare one of these to the pxn v12? saw it in microcenter, and it's a 10nm wheelbase and wheel bundle that's compatible with consoles for like 540 dollars
The PXN is on my bucket list as it seems very promising but I have not received any word back after my mail to them to ask for a reduction for reviewing purposes. Unfortunately, its not economically doable for me to buy it new for just testing. I will send them another reminder.
I'm trying this base on a racing setup It heats up immediately and I can't feel the track, gravel etc Lp8 Can you give me your parameters? also about another game, I'm going crazy Feedback
I have been burnt by vendors indicating they would add features after product launch and then change their mind and only add them for later generations. So for me buying with the hope of later improvements is always a no-no. On another topic. You seem to be the big Beam NG expert. My son has a G923 and wanted to play it, but it somehow didn’t work. So he grabbed my T300 setup and connected this to his PC. But on that one he says it loses centering frequently (claiming the T300 is broken like the G923, which is probably both not true). Is there any good information about Beam Ng and wheel issues? (I admit I haven’t had look myself yet).
Goh yeah... you might reason like that. Its also why I say it might get better or not but to be fair, its not a real premium price you pay either for it. Not sure man, I had a problem once with a steering wheel I think. It was giving conflicts but that was Windows being a PITA. I changed USB port and it worked. Kind of lucky when it comes to not having issues 😎 I am only on a FB group called BeamNG.drive community. Is large group with BeamNG employees on it too. Can ask there perhaps?
🤔Wait !!
There was no longer any question for Cammus of releasing the LP8, they changed their mind??
