Hey there, great video! Regarding the force feedback, I totally resonate with your experience. It seems like there's a limitation with the Cammus firmware/software-it doesn't support track and grass effects as effectively as Moza does. I've come across discussions on forums pointing out this issue. In contrast, Moza offers specific effects tailored for these aspects, and I've personally noticed a significant increase in detail using a Moza R9 base. However, when it comes to drifting, the setup is spot-on and works perfectly if configured correctly. Keep up the good work!
Cammus brought out a patch for the software recently. I have not been able to test it yet but it would help at least against the heating issue 😎 thanks for the feedback friend.👍
One thing I want to say is thank you for using BeamNG as a test scenario for wheelbases. I'm getting a bit tired from seeing other channels use the same game(s) over & over
When will it be available? Is the Quick Release included in the package? Is this Quick Release enough to attach a Moza or Trustmaster 488 steering wheel??? Thanks so much, great review.
No Date yet. I believe they are fine-tuning the software (heat issues). It should be along soon. Yes. The QR is in the package if I remember correct and yes, they use a pretty standard diameter of 70mm i believe
Bit unrelated but I’m trying to get into sim racing. I plan on getting the csl dd but I have no clue what to get for a cockpit. I don’t want to spend more then 400$ any recommendations?
Cammus did bring out new soft and firmware for the DDWB21 but I have not seen pass anythinh for the LP8. When I have some time, i will mount the LP8 and check
wait, all pic i saw on aliexpress does not have that quick release mount...instead its a flat metal face, and that similar unit was also in douglas thompson's video...i am confused now...this unit is not available on cammus' website
Someone said on another video of comments, c5 has constant ffb with 5nm and csl dd has 3.5, and the 8nm is 6.8 holding, peak torque is 8nm. How about LP8? Is it same as c5 that constant torque is 8nm and peak is more?
Still no response. I honestly think, unless they upgraded the firmware of the LP8, that it lacks Just a bit detail. Its good and powerful. Dont get me wrong, but I was a bit let down in the LP8 after testing the C5
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Thank you so much for your work! I really appreciate it! I'm thinking about getting C12. Do you think this is a great idea? Also, I found it on AliExpress. I wondered if I should get one from the official website or just from AliExpress
I believe that the C12 is indeed the better choice. Absolutely can recommend that one or C5. I have No experience with aliexpress. If you have not had issues with them, it is also a possibility. Should you buy from official site, use code SDR for 5% reduction (affiliate of this channel )
2 hours I got it to 63° but it didnt lose detail. The lack of detail is I believe firmware related. I do need to say that with the new software it got less hot a few degrees but this can be because it simply was cooler in my garage.

With the updates will we be able to hear off-track effects etc?
@@TaniaDAmbrosi not with the update they did so far. I have no info about further updates.

I'm a sim-driver, not a sim-racer so BeamNG is a logical choice 😎💙
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Heh, exactly the same here. If i had a simgear review channel I totally would use BeamNG for a lot of my tests

Does this base generate 8 nm?
Yes although it feels at times more than 8.
@@SimulatedDrivingResource I'm having a lot of difficulty setting it up and it gets very hot, could you help me?
With the updates will we be able to hear off-track effects etc?
@SimulatedDrivingResource I think it hold 8.
Csl dd peaks to 8 and holds 6.
So it's probably what you're feeling
More competition is great. I wonder when on earth Logitech will release some add ons for its direct drive. It seriously needs some rims
Good question. It has been out for some time now so would be nice to see what direction they will take.
Logitech is a bit of a disappointment. When I look at how many companies they have convinced to support TruForce since the release of the G923..
@@marcianzero_yt yeah... I dont know what they have in stock still but disappointing is Well placed.

I would go for a second hand playseat trophy at this moment for that money. Sturdy, light, space efficient, comfortable and stylish
@@SimulatedDrivingResource awesome, thank you so much. I’m very excited to get out on the track soon!
@@Babyoildealer enjoy friend 💙
@@SimulatedDrivingResource sorry last question. If I can’t find it used what would you recommend. Is it worth waiting a little long to get it?
Also forgot to mention your videos are really good quality for a small channel. Keep it up!
Did anything change after all that time? Is there more detail in FF now?

They decided not to launch LP8 but normally a base side quick release should be included in the package
can you tell me something about the lp8 problem? It seems there are problems on this basis. Do you know what the problem is?
I didnt have real "issues" with it but from my experience, it did get quite Hot and the amount of detail (firmware) was a bit lacking.

In all honesty, I do not know. I do believe it is when I compare the LP8 against the Fanatec CSL DD 8. I will verify with Cammus.
@@SimulatedDrivingResource Thank you so much! I will wait for the result. So that means also Cammus c12 is good right?
