I've been to a LOT of concert and the ELO show I went to a couple years ago was easily in my top 5. Everyone should go see them if they have the chance, they have their live shows down to an art form and they may be the only band I've found that they sound better live than they did on the albums. Even in his early 70s, Jeff Lynn absolutely killed it.
One of their classics in "Roll Over Beethoven"--which is actually a Chuck Berry cover. It's an eight-minute rollercoaster that's worth a reaction. A unique song that also worth a listen: "Rockaria"--a combination of opera and rock.
I love how the strings grow more and more intense in the second verse. They're such a great love band. You should check out really any live performance. It's all good.
@@PeterDay81 Nope, London born and bred, now living in Essex! Just an ELO fan! It's not the beeps and warbles at the start, it's the tone that comes in at 13 seconds, up to just before 'Hello'. I hear the familiar tone, I smile, wondering which dear friend is calling, and I see: 'Suspected spam.' Ah well.
A very creative ensemble indeed! STRINGS were a great mix with their talents...again, another example of the great decade of the 1970s where there were so many diverse groups and "sound"!! EVERY body knew their sound when their hits played on the radio!!

ELO - Turn To Stone, Telephone Line, When I Was A Boy (Jeff Lynne's ELO) They have SO many hits, this group is like Rush and Steely Dan with how deep their catalog goes.
My dad took me to see ELO when I was just 12. It was a fantastic experience! The light show was so overwhelming the houses around the arena could see them! I'll always be grateful for having cool parents with excellent taste in music!
They are probably the band I'd like to see most in concert. If you watch them 'live at Wimbley Stadium' they sound EXACTLY like they did 20 years earlier recorded. Pretty impressive. I was a teenager when they were hot in the late 70's but really only appreciate their genius now that I'm older.
It’s no surprise that you guys love ELO. This band is awesome and wonderful! You won’t find any bad songs. Please check out Linda Ronstadt. She will dazzle you with her stunning voice. Love your facial expressions Asia. I really enjoy your channel 🌺✌️
Asia nailed it. ELO. Electric instruments, great light shows and the always had Cellos, violins etc. unique. ELECTRIC LIGHT ORCHESTRA. Perfect. Way to go Asia. I love you guys' reaction, ELO was one of my favorite bands of my teenage years, I would take my ELO albums with me when I went to visit other people, just in case they didn't have them, or hadn't heard of them.
That tiny break with the strings before the second time through the chorus is exquisite. If you're on the dance floor, that's the point where you do your signature move, and then jump right back into the groove. Love it.
I REMEMBER HEARING THIS ON FM RADIO IN THE MORNING BACK IN THE DAY WHEN GETTING READY FOR ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. ITD BE ON EVERY DAY! GEART SONG CLASSIC ROCK
This is probably my favorite song by them. I remember the first time I heard it I immediately fell in love with the string parts. Being a musician, I may like a song because of a particular instrument part or line. I always turn this song up on the radio. Try Do Ya, Fire on High, andsfrange magic.
A lot of music today focuses on the vocals as the main event, with the music playing just a backdrop filler role. ELO made sure everything in their music was a main event.
Lyrically there's a reference to fixing a hole by The Beatles and then there's also when the drum stop close to the end and you hear the strings with the flange effect that's a reference to a similar break in I am the walrus by The Beatles...
Hey BJ, I am not surprised you've heard the, "Evil Woman", chorus because it has been used in many movies and commercials over the last couple decades. What a great song! So let me give you another great ELO song for your next reaction: *"Tightrope"* You react to that one, and you'll be in for a special treat. (Use the studio version.) Cheers, and thanks for all you do!
If you like ELO you might want to give the Moody Blues a listen. Their late 1960’s music is top notch as well as their 70’s and 80’s music. Gemini Dream sounds a lot like ELO in my opinion.
Absolutely fabulous how you're digging ELO. Love that! I've been listening to them for decades. The short musical interlude you hear in the beginning is the bridge between Evil Woman and its predecessor on the album Face The Music, a song called Waterfall which is one of my absolute favourites and no one who likes ELO should miss. Cheers from somewhere in Germany.
I just love it when you both are diggin' the crud out of songs and Asia, it is is crazy how much I love it when I see it starting to take you over. You sink lower in your seat and your shoulders start to sway and bob. Beautiful. BJ, you are cool 🙌👍😎 man. Love watching you diggin' it too.
