Usually at the end of the video you would tell us to discover the solo version on our own. I'm so glad that you had time enough to explain the solo rules for this game. This looks like a fun filler game, and I love co-ops. Glad to see it here! Thanks!!
I have watched several of your videos now and you've earned yourself a new subscriber :) Like many others agree, this is definitely one of the best board game video tutorial pages out there! Very clear and easy to understand. I know it doesn't mean much, but I don't normally subscribe to UA-camrs unless I watch and actually enjoy at least 10-20 of their videos (I know, I'm picky) but literally everytime I need help deciding to buy a game or not, one of your videos pop up and it's always so pleasant and easy to watch. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Adam, that means a lot. I completely appreciate your desire to only subscribe to channels that you have a particular interest in - I'm thrilled to hear we became one of them!
Thank you so much for this amazing walktrough of yet another board game. Yes you guessed it. I did buy this game + expansion as well. Looking forward to try it out. Keep up the nice work. Extra positive that you showed us the solo mission.
Congrats on 100k subscribers! Your channel is the first how to board game channel I ever subscribed to and I go back to it every time I need a refresher on a game I haven't played in a while or if I'm looking for a new good game. You explain how to play board games better than anyone out there and your play through games with your kids look like a blast. Rampage was hilarious. Anyhow, I just watched this video again after receiving the game today and I'm glad I did because I realized that I had only given my explorers one life/health each and so I kept dying.:( Keep up the great tutorials and can't wait until your next play through.
Son got this for Christmas, always a nice bonus when we see you've done a video on a game. Makes it easier to get up and running faster. Thanks, as always.
Only discovered your channel a few months ago while looking for a play test/rules instruction video for Tiny Epic Galaxies and ending up subscribing within minutes of it starting, as you explain things so well. Only thing is your just to good at explaining how to play games, I'm ending up with more and more of them, which is no bad thing really. Keep up the good work.
Congratulations, Rodney! You are an inspiration to fledgling content creators like myself. It has always been obvious that you love what you do. Keep up the good work!
I played it ~10 times and won only once. It groups perfectly with Robinson Crusoe where I am never lucky either. 🤣 I never played it with more than 2 players. Both was comfortable, but on solo mode nobody sees me cry.
what a qwirky, original looking game. Somehow this '70s-looking comicbook art work game is striking, elegant and simple. But there's some depth, plus multiple ways to play! What a nice surprise. This is up there with Friday, Onirim and Tiny Epic Galaxies as great solo games I think. Can't wait to get a copy. Thanks for the review~!
7:44 : I got very confused when you chose to remove 2 health instead of one on Bessie I thought I had misunderstood a rule and went back in the video to check But you just misplayed ?
Hey Arenkai, the video is correct. I'm not really sure what you're asking. At that clip, the card shows that you have to lose 2 health, so I removed 2 health, one from Roy and one from Bessie. Can you explain why you thought I was only meant to remove 1 health?
In an earlier video you mentioned that Pep is partially color blind, which makes sense why you did the explanation video for this game, the map looks like a giant color blindness test!
Seems like a really fun game, giving you lots of options as you go along.. might make the brains of perfectionists overheat a bit if they decide to go for the best moves possible. And what's even better, it uses no dice, so you might actually have a chance if you guys decide to play this game against each other :D
Awesome video! I have a question: at 7:52 when you take the Infected Wound card for its expertise, do you still have to resolve one of the red boxes? Thanks!
Hi, I am starting to get more into solo games, and I ordered this one after several enjoyable Friday plays. I do have a question after watching your Tutorial. At 7:35, the Vampire Bats card requires a camping expertise token (one Bessie health point), why would you pick to lose two health tokens (Bessie's and Roy's) instead? * I just found another comment asking the same question. Yes, sacrificing only one of Bessie's health tokens would have been a more strategic move instead.
Do the cards you collect to spend later persist through the morning and evening hikes or are they lost after each morning and evening phase respectively?
I'm confused about what you can't talk about your hand when it is supposed to be fully cooperative. Is that just an arbitrary rule to balance out difficulty?
It's fully co-operative, in that players are always on the same side. But there are rules for when/how their collaboration can take place. The restrictions are that you can't tell people what is in your hand, and you can't discuss card strategy when setting up the morning or evening hike. Beyond that, you can discuss strategy as much as you like.
You said that you can never go above your starting health per explorer, but the rulebook actually just mentions you can never go above 4 even if you start with 3 health I believe?
This is a tricky one, as there has been some debate over the interpretation of the rules as written, and I always run my tutorials by the publisher (and I often catch errors in the rule book, so that the video is more up to date than the rules). But this video was shot long enough ago (7 years ago), and early enough in my collaborations with publishers, I can't say with complete confidence what the history of conversations were that we had about this. I have yet to see a public confirmation from the designer one way or the other, to help me confirm for you today, unfortunately.
I usually try to catch you guys then. I'm just never quite prepared for it when it comes. Been liking patreon as it makes it a little easier to give a little bit each month. :-) I'll catch you on the next fundraiser though!

I like to surprise you :)

Wow! I love the artwork. It makes me think of the art from Tintin comics...
As a big fan of the Tintin series, I won't lie, this game immediately had my interest as soon as I first saw it.
They have used a similar(or the same?) font for the title/text and the numbers. They also used the same drawing style and the similar colors.
Yeah definitely makes me want ot for that reason alone.
I thought the same thing watching this video! Doubles the reason I want it now!
I mean, that's because it's a copy of it
Thank you so much for this amazing walktrough of yet another board game. Yes you guessed it. I did buy this game + expansion as well. Looking forward to try it out. Keep up the nice work.
Extra positive that you showed us the solo mission.
Have a great time with it Steve!
After Zee's review and this How To Play video I pulled the trigger.
Love to see how it plays solo vs 2 players
Same here. And the art on this game is just stellar.
Thanks for checking it out., If time allows, I'd enjoy being able to do a play through of this on the channel.
Congrats on 100k subscribers!

A pleasure to assist! Merry Christmas and I hope you both have fun playing :)

Glad you're enjoying the videos Kev - and hopefully you're enjoying the games you're filling your shelves with :)
Love the art - and it is so nice, SO nice, to see an older woman in this game, you don't even know!
I really liked the variety of explorers included as well!
Great video as always Rodney! I hadn't heard of this game until now, and I believe my wife and I would love it! Also, really loving the new setup 😁
Glad you're liking the new digs :)
Congratulations, Rodney! You are an inspiration to fledgling content creators like myself. It has always been obvious that you love what you do. Keep up the good work!
Thanks Board Together - all the best in your own efforts sharing our great hobby!
At ~7:42 just Bessie needed to suffer the wound, right? Using the left red banner, I mean.
Yep, you've got it (it would have been the more strategic option to pick too :) )
I played it ~10 times and won only once. It groups perfectly with Robinson Crusoe where I am never lucky either. 🤣 I never played it with more than 2 players. Both was comfortable, but on solo mode nobody sees me cry.
Ha, I can relate to that!
As usual, Rodney saves me when teaching... BEST CHANNEL EVER!
High five Rodrigo!
Always enjoy your videos but this was game that I just saw but didn't think for me. Your excellent explanation changed my mind! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed what you saw Susan!
thanks for the how to play. another great video. this will be added to my wish list, solo play looks intriguing.
Thanks for checking it out!
Love all of your videos. Pre ordered the game as soon as I was done watching this video when it came out and finally got it today!
Hope you have a great time playing!
Reminds me of Robinson Crusoe board game. Congratulations to 100k!
Thanks Mui!

Thanks for checking it out Matt - glad you enjoyed!
Just ordered this game from CoolStuff, thanks for this detailed instructional video Rodney, can't wait to play!
Hope you have a great time with it Brett!
Very good explanation, thumbs up
always great videos! IMHO, this game has its sweet spot played solo.
Thanks for checking out out!

@@WatchItPlayedbecause you could have chosen to spend one camping expertise from Bessie instead.

Good thing he won't have to pick anything out from it :)
so ready for a co-op play through video of this!!!
We'll see!

Yep - sometimes in my focus on teaching a rule, I'm not thinking about which choice is most optimal. Sorry if that caused any confusion!
@@WatchItPlayed no worries, that is totally understandable. Thank you for the tutorial!
Love the new studio, R-Dawg!
Thanks Nolla - it's been a nice change here :)
*Fanboy squeal*
Do the cards you collect to spend later persist through the morning and evening hikes or are they lost after each morning and evening phase respectively?
They persist.
I love this game!
Glad you've been enjoying!
Is there a need to keep track of which expertise
esource we choose from a card in the first p!ace? If yes, how do we keep track?
No need to.
Another great video.
I will never understand why you ever get "thumbs down".
Someone doesn't like the way I pronounce "card" probably :)
Well, there is certainly that.
Watch It Played I actually like that hehe.
This seems to be a wonderful game
Thanks for checking out the video - glad you enjoyed!
Rodney, If a spend bullet symbol appears & you Don't have one, can you spend a health or just select another red option? Thanks a lot!
If you have no Ammunition, you cannot trigger a caption box with a 'spend Ammunition' option. Hope that helps!
@@WatchItPlayed Ok thanks!
Looks interesting, do a playthrough with Pep?
Thanks for the interest (I avoid pre-announcing the games I'm doing, just in case my schedule changes - I don't like to disappoint).
In head to head can both players choose the same path?
Nope.
I'm confused about what you can't talk about your hand when it is supposed to be fully cooperative. Is that just an arbitrary rule to balance out difficulty?
It's fully co-operative, in that players are always on the same side. But there are rules for when/how their collaboration can take place. Rodney, What happens if in a morning or evening phase you don't have food to pay?
Someone takes a wound!
Thanks!
"If there is still a tie" :p

Pleeeeeease tell us there's going to be a playthrough video of this game!
I try to avoid pre-announcing in case something in the schedule changes. I don't like to disappoint!
I will wait patiently, and cross my fingers, then. Thanks!
What's the deal with ammunition? You never mentioned what happens if you run out
If you run out, you won't have it to use. There is no other penalty for running out of ammo.
Rodney, do you have a patreon?
Hey Mitchell, I don't, but I run a yearly fundraiser that allows me to work on the show full time thanks to the generous support of our viewers.
I usually try to catch you guys then. I'm just never quite prepared for it when it comes. Been liking patreon as it makes it a little easier to give a little bit each month. :-) I'll catch you on the next fundraiser though!
Thanks for the support!
Do you think the head to head mode could work as a team vs team game?
I would imagine so.
This is coming next month
Have a great time playing!
I don't get why this isn't just a solo game
You certainly have that option.
