Incredibly high quality content! Hard to believe this was all done for a Go lecture. Thank you for this contribution to the Go community!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Really
Being an avid chess player Go has always fascinated me but I had never taken the time to understand the game mostly because it has always been portrayed as a deeply strategic and complicated game. It's rather impressive that in a few minutes you were able to help me understand the basic concept of the game; and while I understand there are much deeper nuances to this game I feel considerably less daunted by it now. Well done.
You know as they say about Go - a few minutes to learn, a lifetime to master. There's no need to put all that lifetime wisdom into a few first minutes, that's for sure =)
@@GoMagicI'm a regular chess fan and I find go fascinating because of anime called *Hikaru no Go*, NOW I bought a 13x13 board game, and I hardly learning the ropes to it after playing an Go App....... I Would say it's alot confusing than chess.......
@@GoMagicwell everyone has to find their feet in new discovers, I'd hope I'll master both chess and go before I die........ Id think even if chess has more distinct pieces, it's very straightforward, just defeat the opposing side by checkmate....... Yet go it's a little bit more complex since I hardly identify when does it ends...........
Beautifully done video! The best I've seen. Incredible animations, good angles of photography, you stick to the essentials and you're obviously very prepared and don't go "um" all the time or interject with irrelevant comments. Very professional. I'm very impressed!
Thank you kindly!
This is the first video I've seen on how to play Go that actually explains everything well without leaving me with more unanswered questions. I'll have to watch the next one now!
That's not nearly as complicated as I thought it was! Very well explained and easy to follow, nice one
That's our intention! Show you how simple it is and theeeen surprise you with complexity =D
What a nice chap. He has a gift for teaching
Good luck finding a better video than this. Amazing job. Instant follower!
This is a very well structured, thus quick but comprehensive tutorial. I love it!
Thanks! 🤩

We're happy you've enjoyed it!
Best, simple to understand explanation of Go for beginners I’ve found yet. Quality video production as well. Thanks!
🧐
I thank you for this crash course on Go. I love games of strategy like Chess and Sequence, so this one is a good strategy game in a different sort of way. The game of Go brings to mind the Battle of Dyrrhachium in 48 BC, where Caesar's legions built a wall to trap Pompey Magnus against the sea. Pompey's men also built a wall to try and enclose Caesar's men, and it was a race of whose wall could trap the other first, much like Go. Caesar's men trapped Pompey, cutting off access to fresh water and Pompey was up against the clock. Sure, Caesar lost that battle and had to regroup where he ultimately won that civil war one month later at the Battle of Pharsalus to make up for that, but if the Battle of Dyrrhachium was a game of Go, Caesar would have won.
Thank you! That truly is wonderful.
Best explanation of Go I've seen on UA-cam, thanks.
🤠

What a fantastic presentation! 7 delightful minutes, building our knowledge step by step with clarity and humor. This is exactly how teaching should be done. Thank you!
Thank you! We'll try to make more of this
I love the way the pieces are held between the fingers and set down.

very well explained - thank you
What I like about his videos is that his videos ain't boring, he sounds entertaining and has cute animations so I'm learning while enjoying at the same time
Fuuuuuun!!! Oooooweeeeee!
Fantastic tutorial, thank you for making this!
😇
Very well done indeed! I especially liked the various animations - they livened up the topic and keeps the viewer engaged (yes, we are all goldfish :)).
The one point I think the video can improve upon: Summarize the rules (or the talking points) at the end in a short list. This way the viewer can see everything at once and even write them down in a concise way.
You're right! If we ever make a one-video-covers-all UA-cam version we'll summarize the rules. But this video is the first in the series. Rules summary comes in video 3.
Is #3 available?
These lessons are great. I’ve always wanted to learn Go and maybe now I finally will.
One suggestion: it would be really helpful if you added sequential numbers to the videos' titles to make it easier to watch them in order. Thanks!
Thanks! Unless we fail to do that, they are always put in the corresponding playlist, and set in the right order there.
Glad that I clicked! This is awesome. You have made a high quality video! Best wishes.
We're also happy that you clicked! Enjoy learning Go =)

Thank you for this great video! I've been trying to learn using practice exercise apps but they all skip over the basics and I still have no idea what I'm doing. Your explanations are so helpful! 😊
Very very happy to hear that it's helping!
I've always wanted to learn Go, but never understood it. This is helping. So far so good. Or maybe go far go good. Lolmfao. Sorry, I'm looking forward to the next lesson. Thanks Mr Uploader.
Good luck!
best production value. first time watching a go related video and i didn't know how to play it. only watched hikaru no go anime few years back. This video is just pure quality. i. swear i wanted to check the view count on this video so many times and was massively dissappointed at how this works. i can't blame youtube because go is not a very popular game it seems. However, this is the kind of tutorial any topic in the world needs.
- planning of the video = 100%
- execution of the tutorial = 100%
- visual appeal = 100%
i mean look at how the man is sitting there and the pieces are covering the board one after another to illustrate what the man is saying:
"if we keep moving forward" : 1:26
Thank you so much! Very detailed!
I just found out about this game through a Korean game show where one of the contestants was a pro player, and I think its so incredibly interesting. Thank you for your concise and informative videos
Have fun playing Go!

Oh my.. thank you for the explanation! I always wanted to learn go because it’s looks interesting every time I see those people playing.. but it’s so confusing even if i ask them how play and what are the rules but I can’t understand their explanation at all! 😂 after watching this now I understand, thank you for a clear explanation!
Thank you! That's precisely what we were aiming for.
Excellent!
This was incredible! I wanted to play after watching the anime series "Hikaru no go" and I recognized some terms and minor strategy! I can't wait to keep learning!
Keep it up!
this is the first time of knwoing that there is a boardgame "Go", thanks to AI Course. BTW, the content is very very amazing with editing and voice too. Appreciated.

GREAT teaching, and I LOVE your video editing, it’s FUN to watch even though I am a ~6k player and know about these things already 🙂
Thanks Thomas! It warms up our hearts.
Thanks back, @@GoMagic - that’s what I hoped 🙂
One word: EDUTAINMENT! That’s the best way to teach, IMO & IMX: not simply transferring information to the minds but also reaching out to the hearts-and humour-of your audience. You do that well!
