Hey Rodney, I just got this game, followed the box rules to set up and started to watch your video to help with the play. I do have a question, where in the rules does it say that each player takes a Pinot Grape card? I didn't see it and that part of the video threw me a little.
Great question! This video is for the original printing of Viticulture. You likely have the newer Essentials Edition, which has mostly identical rules, except they replaced the starting cards with Mamas & Papas, so you no longer start with a Grape card. You'll find more details here: ua-cam.com/video/2WULNjYOeNE/v-deo.html

@@WatchItPlayedthanks for that part but I try to figure out; after I harvest the fields, can I repeat the same action in next year with same wine cards? Briefly, can I harvest same wine cards once in each year (1st , 2nd , 3rd year and so on)?
@@yigit-o6t Yep, since you don't discard the vine cards and there are no rules preventing you from harvesting the same fields during each new year, you can.
Hi Rodney...at the start of a new year, beginning with the Spring season, are all the roosters gathered up and then the person who just received the first player token (counter clockwise from previous player) gets first dibs on placing his/her rooster on the track? Do I have that right?
Hey Rodney! Thanks for the great video! One question pls. Do you play with or without friendly variant and why? Thank you! *are you going to make a video with Tuscany EE included?
Hey Manos. I play without friendly. Just the way I've always played. I did videos for the original Tuscany, so no plans to do separate videos for the EE edition.
I got the Viticulture Essential Edition recently and love it so much and now I want to get an expansion. Should I get Tuscany Essential Edition or just Tuscany? Also what Moor Visitors expansion. I'm kinda confused on what exactly to get.
I do have videos for each of those products (except for the Tuscany Essentials Edition). I don't review or recommend on this channel, so unfortunately I can't help you there.
I have been seeing an icon on the Order cards that I cannot find explained in the instructions. The residual icon is usually a golden color. But on some order cards we have seen it is a silver color. It is no where in the instructions. Any ideas? Also, just an interesting data point: the reverse of the game board and player matts for the Essential version has the same text, but it is in Italian!!!!
I'm not looking at the cards you're referring to, but my guess is that the copper color is a residual of 1 and the silver is a residual of 2. Just like the colors of the coins of those value.
Wait, when The Rules Girl talked about this game, she mentioned part of the setup involving dealing two random parent cards to everyone and giving out extra resources based on those. What’s up with that?
When Viticulture first game out, it did not come with the Mammas and Pappas cards that you are referring to. This video was created back then. Then later, they added some elements from an expansion into the base game, and started selling it that way - this became known as the "Essentials" Edition. She was perhaps teaching that? Either way, you'll find those adjustments mentioned here: ua-cam.com/video/2WULNjYOeNE/v-deo.html
I’m not quite sure what you’re referring to. Can you provide a time stand to the section you are asking about? It sounds like there might be a slight misunderstanding.
After 16 minutes in the above video some wine tokens are removed after fulfilling the wine order , those removed wine tokens can be used again in the future as grapes token after harvesting a particular field.
@@abhishekmondal3275 After wine tokens are used, they go back into the general supply to be used again the next time you make grapes (or for whatever you might need them for when playing).

+ennieday1009 I don't make recommendations, as I don't know what someone else's experience will be like, but I can say I have played this with my wife.
So in viticulture essential edition, there no max point or stop at 25. Can't go higher.. If I got 28 poin and 10 lira but other player got 26 poin and 12 lira.. Who is the winner?
I would like to think this was being played upon my request but that may be a bit presumptuous on my part. You should enjoy this game with a glass on wine. Grape juice for Luke of course.
I think I’d have to have every kind of wine featured in the game and every time you do something with that wine you would have to drink. Oh yes. Yes indeed.

I did videos for the original Tuscany, so no plans to do separate videos for the EE edition.
@@WatchItPlayed Thank you very much!
Can you use your own worker on a spot and then later use your super worker on the same spot?
Yes.
Watch It Played I have a picture of it I can send you on Facebook.
Missed a great opportunity to play some Vivaldi.
I bought this two weeks ago and haven’t gotten it to the table yet. It’s killing me!!!!
Hopefully this can help you get it to the table soon :)
I played it solo Tuesday night!! Thank you so much for what you do for the hobby!!!!
Great video! Thanks
Glad you liked it!
The removed wine token after fulfilling wine order can be used again ?????
I’m not quite sure what you’re referring to. Can you provide a time stand to the section you are asking about? It sounds like there might be a slight misunderstanding.
After 16 minutes in the above video some wine tokens are removed after fulfilling the wine order , those removed wine tokens can be used again in the future as grapes token after harvesting a particular field.
@@abhishekmondal3275 After wine tokens are used, they go back into the general supply to be used again the next time you make grapes (or for whatever you might need them for when playing).
Great job as usual Rodney! It would be great if you did Memoir 44 videos.
Guess what I'm recording today (not kidding).
@@WatchItPlayed Yaay! Best news ever... Maybe I should keep asking LOL. Command and Colors Ancients? Manhattan Project energy empire? Cyclades? Cosmic encounter? Ha ha ha. Thanks again, you make the best how to videos. Commenters feel free to vote up these choices.
No, please don't ask :) I don't ever confirm upcoming videos, except this time it was too coincidental, not to say something.
Watch It Played Fair enough Rodney 😃 We will take what we can get! Keep up the great work. Consider Top 5 videos by category, by decade, by year etc. Your fans will lap them up. I know I will!!
Great video!
+Jamie Linder Thank you very much Jamie!
Do these rules apply to the essential edition?
Yes, but there are a couple of adjustments it has, which you'll find detailed in this video: ua-cam.com/video/2WULNjYOeNE/v-deo.html
Thank you for this vid.
You're welcome! Thanks for watching!
It is possible to put the worker directly on bonus action space in 3 players game ???
During 3 player gameplay my opponent have place the worker on the action space to draw a vine card and had taken one vine card , now I had placed my worker on bonus action space during my turn and drawn two vine card.
Am I doing it right ????
Hey there, I'm always happy to try to help with rules questions, but if the answer is provided in the video, than I have to direct you there. You'll find an index in the description to help you find the section you might be looking for.
The explanation of the video not clear to me.
@@abhishekmondal3275 I'm sorry, but your exact question is answered directly, with an example right here: ua-cam.com/video/L5fcDctkFFE/v-deo.html
How relevant is this tutuorial for the essential edition?
This will cover the rules to play, and the video here, is a quick summary of any additional elements: ua-cam.com/video/2WULNjYOeNE/v-deo.html)
what does grey card mean
It sounds like you might be referring to components for the solo mode.
Viticulture or Vinhos? Played neither but I am leaning towards Vinhos.
I avoid offering on opinions on this channel, so I can't assist you there, but hopefully this video gave you a good sense about one half of your question :)
thanks Rodney....hoping one of your viewers may be able to help. Both look great but i just cant see myself with 2 wine making games. Thanks for your feedback.
You bet!
Rulebook seems to say that you need the big cellar to advance wine past 3. Just bad wording?
I don't have the rule book handy to confirm what you're seeing, but the way it is shown here in the video is correct.
Your thumbnail for this video shows Viticulture Essential Edition, but the video itself is about the original Viticulture not the EE version?
Great catch Fixed!
Game looks really fun. Would you consider this a good 2-player game for me and my girlfriend?
+ennieday1009 I don't make recommendations, as I don't know what someone else's experience will be like, but I can say I have played this with my wife.
Surprised you weren't sipping a glass of Merlot when doing this video...
I generally find that doesn't help my rules teaching :)
great vid
Thanks Keyser :)
So in viticulture essential edition, there no max point or stop at 25.
Can't go higher..
If I got 28 poin and 10 lira but other player got 26 poin and 12 lira..
Who is the winner?
The person with more points wins.
thanks...
The box says 1-6 players have you played it solo?
I have not, but I don't tend to play many games solo. It's great that they give this option for people who do though!
Is this the retail version?
It is!
I would like to think this was being played upon my request but that may be a bit presumptuous on my part. You should enjoy this game with a glass on wine. Grape juice for Luke of course.
Kyle Delgado Hey, either way, it's here now, right? :)
Is this game out of print? I can't find it in stock anywhere
+ennieday1009 It might be - but I know more are coming!
+icqciomen Check out Funagain Games if you're still looking.
I think I’d have to have every kind of wine featured in the game and every time you do something with that wine you would have to drink.
Oh yes.
Yes indeed.
That sounds like it would make for an interesting experience!
God I love you, Rodney
This warms my heart!
grazie mille :)
Sei il benvenuto!
