    LEGENDARY ITEMS:
    The Sword is used to help attack Goblins during the Night Phase. For the Hero with the Sword, you can spend 1 Power, any number of times, to deal 1 damage to a Goblin. This can be used in conjunction with symbols rolled or independently. This action
    may be taken even when you're not the player with the dice. However, the Hero must be at a Goblin Portal to use it. Note: if also equipped with a Bow and attacking from one Map Card away, the Sword ability does not apply.
    The Shield is used to help defend against taking damage during the Night Phase. It does not matter which Hero is equipped with the Shield. When you receive 1 Take Damage result, instead of spending 2 Power to defend, you only spend 1.
    The Staff is used when you Rest during the Night Phase to help you learn Spells. For the Hero with the Staff, you can spend 1 power, any number of times, to learn the Spell that Hero is on as if the Magic Token was advanced that number of additional spaces on the Magic Track. Do not physically advance the token. For instance, if the Magic Token is on the fifth space, you can spend 3 Power to act as if it were on the eighth space when you Rest. This allows
    you to learn Spells that are a higher level than the current progress of the Magic Track.

    One determining factor in a new game purchase is: has Rodney done a How to Play? If not, we're in trouble. Better wait and see if one pops up. Seriously. We watch your How to Plays to decide what to buy, then watch them as many times as needed to learn how to play. We love you!

    Hi Rodney! Clarification for 19:14 Goblins only restore to its full health at the resolution phase/end of a round, not immediately as you mentioned. From the rulebook page 16: "Goblins restore to full health if not defeated in a single round."
    You may be asking, what's the point of leaving the damage inflicted until the end of the Night Phase?
    This is the reason, from the FAQ thread on BGG:
    Q: If a Hero has the Bow and an adjacent Goblin was abandoned during the Night Phase (other player Rested), could this Hero attack the Goblin?
    A: Yes, and do not reset the counter. Keep any damage inflicted from the previous Hero until the end of the Night Phase.

    Clarification question: During the day phase, if I use the foot movement to move a meeple and complete a quest card and take it, and then on the next turn using a griffin movement card, manage to complete the requirements for another quest, would I get that quest as well, or is the 1 quest per turn referring to one day cycle as opposed to one of the 4 turns we do movement in during day?

    • @WatchItPlayed
      @WatchItPlayed  6 років тому +6

      You would get both quests in that case. You can think of "a turn" as "each time a movement card is selected and used (or idled)"

    Quick question after watching this EXCELLENT video! When using the raft to move between cards, if you are on the right region of a card to start, can you use the raft to move to the left region of a card vertically above or below the current card? This came up in our game and people were divided on if you could or could not move to the left/right region after making the vertical move.

    Hi, you create great vidoes. I always try to find your tutorials and learn how to play. I have 2 questions about Tiny Epic Quest:
    1. If there are two treasure cards in quest cards connected with the temple "A" and the player complete the track of the "A" temple, they get only one quest card or they can get both?
    2. The torch and scroll dice results are use simultaneosely. So when two players complete the the temple track in the same time which of them gets the treasure card? How to choose the winner?

    • @WatchItPlayed

      Thanks for the kind words!
      1. I think you'll find that here: ua-cam.com/video/vcHEtXrh98s/v-deo.html
      2. Good question, my understanding is that you would resolve it in turn order (first player first, second player second, etc), but I don't have an official answer on that.
      Hope that helps!

    • @Jonas_Mikkelsen
      @Jonas_Mikkelsen 4 роки тому +1

      you don't get the treasure until you rest, and you can only rest when it is your turn.

  • @Totihno

    Hi Rodney. I have a question. There is a mushroom grotto that lets you roll the dice and use any scroll and/or torch symbols to advance the corresponding meeples in temples. So if a have two meeples one space away from the last spot on two temples; lets say one in a torch temple and another in a scroll temple; and I roll 2 torches and 2 scrolls, I could advance both to complete the temples. In this case if they both complete a different adventure quest, does the "only one quest completion" rule during the day phase apply even if its two meeples completing different quests? The scenario is a little difficult to come up but is possible so I was wondering how the rule applies.

    • @WatchItPlayed
      @WatchItPlayed  6 років тому

      Since it's the Day phase, my sense of it is that you would have to pick one to complete at that time.
      "You may only complete one Quest per turn. If moving a Hero would result in a player completing more than one Quest, that player can only chose 1 Quest Card to take."

  • @borgir6929
    @borgir6929 4 роки тому

    I have a couple of questions:
    1.If you rest and you learn a spell, (then increasing your max. power level) can I add one power point taking into account the new level of power. For instance: Having 3 of maximum power, and actually have 3 power points if I increase my magic level in 1 (having 4 of max. power level) when I return to the castle, can I add one power point from 3 to 4? Or Firstly do I add the power point and then increase my magic level that increases my max. power in 1?
    2. Can I increase more than 3 magic levels? For instance: if I rest with magic level token in 2 and Im in two obelisks (level 2 and 4), can I I increase 2 (from 0 to 2) and then increase 2 more (from 2 to 4)? The last day we played we discuss about this.
    Thanks a lot and congrats for your channel!

      I'm struggling to understand the question. This can also happen if the video is from long enough ago, that all of the rules are not as fresh in my memory. For these questions, you may want to check the forums on BoardGameGeek for the game. Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

  • @nathannorton2093
    @nathannorton2093 6 років тому

    Hey Rodney...great as always. Quick question. Don't the rules tate that you cannot collect more than one quest on a turn? I seem to remember reading that in the rulebook, though I have not yet played my copy. Thanks for the clarification!

    • @shanelaporte
      @shanelaporte 6 років тому

      I believe he stated that in the part about the day phase. However, in the night phase it could happen that you collect more than one while collecting temple rewards, for example (if I have that right).

    • @B_with_13_Es
      @B_with_13_Es 6 років тому

      That is correct, you can only complete 1 Quest during a movement turn, even if moving 1 Hero can complete 2 or more Quests.
      For instance in my last game, I moved a Hero onto a Map Card that achieved a Movement Quest, BUT the Region I landed in was the Mushroom Grotto that said "Advance 1 Room in a Temple", which put 1 of my Heroes into the Treasure Room of a Treasure Quest. I could only do 1, so I chose the Treasure Quest over the Movement Quest.

    • @WatchItPlayed

    Quick question. So for each "fist" symbol on the dice, I get to hit a goblin. Does that mean if I have multiple meeples on multiple goblins, I may each goblin once PER FIST I have rolled? Or is each fist symbol "spent" on a single Goblin token?

    • @WatchItPlayed

      Each "fist" symbol is spent separately. So to attack two different goblins, you'd need to roll two of them.

    One pretty important mistake.. When determining if there is at least 1 treasure quest and 1 movement quest, you don't discard the card farthest on the right, but you discard the card you just had drawn! (Or else you could mess up somebody's set-up for completing a quest pretty badly! And that's not how the game is intended I guess, as it can take quite some planning to try to get a quest)
    Correct me if I'm wrong, but i think it is written like this in the rules...

    • @WatchItPlayed
      @WatchItPlayed  5 років тому +1

      The rules aren't completely clear on wording, but an FAQ on BoardGameGeek confirms that you slide and replenish until you have at least 1 treasure quest and 1 movement quest as mentioned in the video. However, they also note a popular friendly variant that works exactly like you suggest!

And also in that same night phase you managed to complete a temple that allowed you to move a legendary item up one place on your player board. And then in the following day phase you used another hero to enter the mushroom grotto space that allows you to move a hero one space forward in a temple thus completing another temple: and that other represents the temple to be done to allow stated legendary item to move to the end and be obtained.
