My local gun shop does weekly ammo drops/ reloading drops, it’s limited but they’re still selling it at normal price. They say ammo has not went up and they refuse to rip off their customers. I know they keep some to offer for gun sells too and probably a fair share goes home with them, but they’re the only ones around selling at normal prices. I would feel guilty buying from anyone else after things go back to normal when they stayed true to their loyal customers
I've been hunting squirrels since I been 8(1958) my Dad taught me to use .22 shorts in a revolver. He said the short will knock a squirrel out of the tree and a long rifle goes through to fast. I've never had to climb a tree. I also have been known to hunt squirrel in places you shouldn't.(were you find the fat ones) I like the bullet not exiting the target and .22 are guite. To my knowledge there is no Auto loader made to shoot them, aside from very expensive target models. That's ok. With a revolver you can shoot any .22 except .22 magnum.
I have the very same wrangler 22. I carry shorts in mine when i squril hunting for them close up shots. And for long range i have a ruger all american bolt action 22 rifel. I feel i could go anywhere in my kentucky woods. I also love to fish at night off the bank for flathead catfish. But around 1am it gets a little spooky so when im fishing i carry a ruger 6 inch 357 mag because ya never know when ya might run into an angry sasquatch 🤣
thanks for the informative video! I am also curious about CCI's Quiet ammunition or the Aguila super colibri in a SAA revolver? Can you do that also.....Kind regards from Austria 👍
Here's a video comparison you might like. Hope you guys are doing good in Austria. It's monsoon season here in Arizona. ua-cam.com/video/EE4VLmTTfx8/v-deo.html
sub'd today TY4 video test ur memory maybe?? Do U remember the canadian longs that came in gold brick w/maple leaf. Got me a couple bricks N 70's & used in marlin bolt gun. Was great ammo never saw it after western auto sold out of them LOL
Pretty ridiculous anybody would pay those outrageous ammo price. I believe they get into biding wars just so they can have their little moment of satisfaction that "hey I won". I seen it happen a lot on Ebay, just plum stupid to me. The same principal can apply to buying a new vehicle at the outrageous price's they are these days. That's why I have a truck that is 18 years old still going strong, just little routine maintenance goes a long way to keep from paying a outrageous car payment each month.
Most of the shorts made in the last few decades would have been made for target pistol / rapid fire match. That may be why they were so accurate. Around $325 - $400 / 1000 for 9mm ammo in Australia at the moment.
I have some cci snake shot for my.22 magnum cylinder it was $14 for twenty and I had to pay $4.19 for my shorts and about $3.19 for Aguila 40 grain copper plated I shoot a lot of.22 I have three pistols and one rifle a 15-22 luckily I have a decent stash of ammunition I won’t touch and recently I was able to get almost 2000 rounds for about six cents a round, I think you are a good ole boy and I subbed so I’m looking for more and old content have a good day buddy
Wow thanks man I didn’t know about 22 short that’s great I got the same wrangler like three months ago I like you but it’s too loud I got Aguila Colibrí but colibrí don’t have much power behind it I’ll try 22 short 🤙
It was some tree hugger bitching and moaning about using that tree as a backstop. And as I explained, that tree is dead in the top and scheduled for removal..

You might try the Aguila Standard Velocity LR ammo. Very accurate in my single shot rifle. Like all Aguila ammo, it sure smells funny! lol

Good public statement
This may sound crazy but I shot a squirrel in the head with a 22short one time and it did not go all the way through
That is crazy… I’m guessing it was a fluke deal.. Just one of them thangs you can’t explain. Lol
@@southernarsenal908 yea it was close to 40 years ago and I don't know how old the bullet was when I got it from my Dad
Good grouping on them shorts
What is the grain count on them?

One more thing is I’m trying to figure out who gave you a thumbs down?? Any way screw em
