I bought mine about 30 years ago, several turkeys are napping...I have several shotgun and every season I reach for the 835...I just love it..yes. it's has recoil...I'm 60 this year just put a red dot on it had to sight it in I'm still feeling it ..but it's a one and done gun..
Appriciate you , had this gun loved it !! going to purchase another one soon , my last one had the xx tra full choke running high brass 3 inch 00 buckshot it was a Monster !! God Bless you & yours in Jesus Christ name ....Amen !!!
Just thought is mention the recoil on these guns running 3 1/2 is more in the range of a 458 win mag. From what ive seen recoil is in the range of 48 to 60 foot pounds depending on load. I agree if you cant kill it with 3 inch you have more issues than the load your shooting. When i grew up all we ever used was high brass 4 and it work well with in 30 yards. Hard to beat the Mossy 835
If recoil is an issue from 3.5” magnum loads, then put a Sims Limbsaver Recoil pad on it. They make an exact replacement for the 835/935. It will be a pleasure to shoot
Im worried them 3.5s will rip the titanium anchors out of my arm that reattached my chest tendon …my 835 is a buck magnet though when I put that slug barrel on it

Enjoyed your thoughts on that ground breaking model. Today Mossberg is offering 3.5 shooters a softer recoiling shotgun model.

It’s not a perfect fit but I put a Limbsaver recoil pad on mine and it helps
