We do think of our little .22lr model as a derringer, kinda deployed the same way, at the last second at stick up nose range...these are not gunfighting guns, but within about 10 feet (for us) they can be a deciding factor...they are sturdy, reliable, and concealable...they also require constant practice (a reason we went with the .22lr model), are slightly tricky to aim and shoot, and a fast reload ain't happening...it's a very tiny niche, we have found no other gun that fits it as well...
