my dyson v6 lasts 10 minutes FULL CHARGE. that’s not right, is it? i hardly use it and only do minimal cleaning. would that make a difference?

That sounds right on full charge, I think ours is about 7 minutes.

i haven’t researched it, but on full charge, isn’t it supposed to be more like 20 mins approx ?? (not using boost but normal hoovering; 6/7 mins seems awfully quick)

I too did not realize the second filter could be removed because it does not show this one in the cleaning instructions handout. And this second filter cleaning is what got my Dyson working again and saved it from going into the trash. Cleaning all the other components did not work. You saved my Dyson. Thank you!!!!!!!!!!

Great guide for a deep clean. For a cheaky little hack, each time I empty the bin while I have the main housing off I blast it outside with a leaf blower. Worth wearing a mask as it blast a lot of dust out. Keeps it going a bit better between cleans.

Saw another video... that top filter has little clips on it, with the butter knife you can open that up and the insert comes out (full of rubbish) and you can clean that out and put clip it back together. (I love how you are using the housewives toolbox for this demo! Hahahaha)

At 8:03 minutes you show the top filter. I see you wipe and tap the filter while the top is still facing up. The dirt is actually on the inside so you need to flip is over and do more tapping. The filter bag will also unclip from the head to make cleaning easier on the inside for rinsing. I found a ton of dirt inside mine.

Thnx for the precise instructions. I have this model and the vac head won't spin around ...is it the vac head or a. Loose connection u reckon. Called Dyson and they cannot service this model because it's a Legacy model now...Lol...but yet they r willing to sell me a replacement vac head...it may not be the vac head hence why I was wanting it serviced!,, cannot u help me please as u seem to know these vacs pretty good?

Also I'd make sure there is nothing caught dirt, dust hair etc. It is super clean?

You need to open up the cone filter to take all the junk out of it. Also, disassemble the top part. There are four screws that will release the whole assembly.

I've never needed to take a Dyson cordless apart. Just wash the filters should all you need to do. The filter on the top does not wash out as it is alone, You need to take the cage out of the filter to give it a proper wash.

A costly mistake is if you run the filter under the tap and if it has dust on the inside it will congeal making it worse you need to open the filter top and clean the inside before you rinse it.

You're kidding right...nothing about cleaning the tail filter??? That's what made the pulsing so bad for mine. These Dysons are kind of a joke with their "never loses suction" marketing. They require lots of attention and as you can see in all these videos, they are hard to take apart. I pull my tail filter out and clean with compressed air, then blast out the main body so i don't have to spend time taking the whole thing apart. In fact all you need to do is clean the top and tail filters, and remove the screen baffle so you can blow out the passages with compressed air.
