    7:20 that is way to much dust in the bin. I did that to the first Dyson and I realized my filter gets clogged a lot because the cyclone not getting the right airflow for the bin and the tiny cyclone. So when I bought another one I always empty below the max line and I never had my filter clogged or dirty.

    This did pretty damn good for a mess like that 😳 My floors don't get that dirty so I'm sure this will work wonderfully my home. And will be easy to carry up and down the stairs! Time to go give my money away! 😁

    I agree with everything you mentioned about this vacuum. I use it for work and do love how light it is. But that bin fills up way too fast! For carpeted stairs with pets it's ridiculous. I had to change it six times compared to not having to change it at all using Eureka Easy Clean. I don't like having to hold down that button the whole time either. Finally, that whiny high pitched noise it makes gets annoying after a few minutes, I find. If it was $100 I'd get one. But at $500 it's way too expensive for what it is.

    Great video as always. I've been looking forward to seeing this video. The fluffy attachment with the V6 fluffy or my V6 Total clean does a great job on laminate flooring at getting the grit off it

    1 point to criticise,
    when vacuuming, you are not trying to enter a grand prix race, you have to allow the vacuum time to do its job,,
    e.g although the machine did push the rolled oats forward, when you vacuumed the whole mess, you were throwing the machine around like lewis hamilton,.
    Other than that, i enjoyed the review thanks

    It is also great for catching flies! Using the crevice tool I 'sneak up' on flies on the window and switch on when the tool is about 3 inches from the fly and move in on it rapidly. It works every time. We have less annoying flies around the house now.
    Even though the battery only lasts 20 minutes, I think it is a brilliant, much easier than lugging out the heavier cylinder vacuum cleaner. It would be great if and when new batteries come along, with longer running time, the battery could be be changed for a newer one.

    Some people have complained about the cylindrical pre motor filter coming out. Did you find this a problem? I live in a tiny apartment, but the cost is just too much. Also, do you eventually plan to purchase/review the V8? Finally, thank you for the demo. Occasionally, you do a full week of unboxings, and while I like to see new vacs, my preference is at least one demo per week!

    V6 absolute or V8 has 150% more powerful direct drive head so should be better on pet hair. V6 fluffy or V8 absolute have hard floor powerhead and V6 absolute has parquet tool which should be better on hard floors.

    • @qasimmir7117
      @qasimmir7117 8 років тому

      Demetri Loizou Wrong, the V6 Absolute 150% but the V8 has 75%. If you look on the back of a V6 Direct Drive Head it will say 50Watts, if you look on the back of V8 head it say 35Watts. In other words they lied.

    I have the Dyson V6 Absolute. In the USA the V6 has the larger floor and carpet brushes that are a little smaller in diameter to a soda pop can. Works great but I hate having to empty it. My opinion (I don't own the new V8 yet) is for now this V6 Absolute is the best cordless vacuum. Thanks for your great video Roger!! P.S. America's Consumer Reports has rated the Dyson V6 as the top stick-vac on the market, along with the Shark Rocket. In Canada, Dyson offers 6 nice optional attachments for the V6: hose, long bendable crevice tool, soft dusting brush (with or without bendable neck), upholstery nozzle and stiff bristle brush. Very expensive in North America though! Around $300....yikes!

    We have a Black and Decker cordless stick vacuum and it's so useful we wanted another cordless vac just for upstairs but ended up getting a second hand one of these Dyson things. Typical Dyson over engineered rubbish. The whole thing is a dust hoarder and cleaning the inside shroud is a nightmare, even the screws are an awkward size torx I didn't have. It was cheap so we're keeping it but that's the only reason, definitely prefer the sturdier Black and Decker.

    Very nice handheld/stick vac! 100 air watts suction on the max setting. Dyson DC01 has 90 aw so pretty impressive. Just a shame that battery don't last more than 6 minutes on the max.
    When the AEG UltraOne review is coming?
    It would be interesting to see, because I have the Electrolux (AEG) UltraFlex Green (bagless) and it has exactly same hose, wand, nozzles and pipe + butterfly tool. Same color scheme also.

    Have had mine for a year now and with minimal cleaning other than the after vac dump of the collector. It has been a great addition and is capable of lifting and collecting dog hair, popcorn, wood chunks from the fire wood etc. Just lately it started shutting off intermittantly but I easily identified the more involved cleaning was needed for the very small but hard working unit. After a quick you tube video, its not only clean (view windows too) it is back to prerforming the way it should. Even the more involved dismanteling to clean process took 15 minutes with a screwdriver and cleaning cloth/ brush. Bamn! Its a sweet little unit and is what I had hoped for in a hide away compact CORDLESS remedy in the house. Buy it, just dont over expect from it, It is the latest in lithion power and I can vac my 1000sq ft home before it needs a charge.

  • @ricknicholson5894

    I agree with others, and I''m not a Dyson fan, got burned on a $400 upright vacuum, but if you are going to do a demo you need to vacuum properly which you aren't, slow down. How is something going to clean up when its about 1/4 second over the dirty area.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 років тому

      If I were to vacuum at the speed the average person does, I would be going much faster than that. To the majority of people, vacuuming is a chore that they want to finish quickly. If I went too slow in a demo, people would complain (and do) that I was going slower to make the vacuum look better.

    • @ricknicholson5894
      @ricknicholson5894 6 років тому

      For those that don't like vacuuming, get a top of the line vacuum cleaner, with it cleaning twice a week, you won't need to vacuum except for everything three months to get corners and other locations the robot doesn't get. Cheaper robot vacs just don't work that well. Wait for sales.

    I've had a V6 Absolute for several months so I can confirm that your initial impressions are the same as a long term user. I find removing and refitting the bin to be quite fiddly and the battery life in 'Max' mode is a limiting factor. I don't regret my purchase though as it's perfect for the quick daily flit around, but as you suggested at the end I also use a different cleaner for the main weekend 'big clean'.

      What was really interesting was the design of the digital brushless motor in it's housing which I was literally blown away by the engineering of that and can only imagine what the V11 looks like.
      Dyson and his team really are some brilliant minds.

      @@SupraNaturalTT go to best buy around your area and they should have a v11 outsize displayed that you can test drive. As i saw one, i was stunned. The bin legitimately was the same size as the dyson ball animal 2, and the head width was almost as long as the head on the ball animal 2. Plus it comes with 2 batteries. So its literally has the power of a powerful upright but is battery powered and a stik vac. Would HIGHLY recommend it if you have a big house thats usually messy alot. Plus i saw a website thats giving a massive discount selling it for 299.95 than 799.99 if ur interested

    I believe with the dyson absolute motor head brush roll it would of done great on the dog hair test in two swipes I even feel it vibrating some what when i use it on my wool rug. I use the fluffy attachment brush for the the hard surfaces it picks up awesome and doesn't seem to flick stuff around like my old DC44 which didn't clean too well . I have had the Dyson absolute for a year now and it's been great I clean my low pile green grass carpet on my balcony with it. I use the fluffy attachment brush the most for my wool carpets and hard wood floors for quick pickups. I use a Miele Auto Eco S7 as my primary vac for deep cleaning and a C3 complete to do under tables and edges and baseboard cleaning task. I am more of a Miele guy but they don't make a cordless stick vac in the USA I have only seen the corded version. I love your videos friend I wish you can do a vibration test with a Miele S7 versus a Maytag M1200 hahahah :)

    • @ibaisaic

      We don't have the Maytag M1200 so that won't be possible. Miele only offer one upright in Germany now and three in the UK, so they have really cut back on the range and I have heard that they will be discontinuing them.

I was also told by Dyson that the fluffy head would not fit on my Flexi so I reluctantly purchased the V6 Total Clean to get the fluffy head. You move the vacuum back and fourth way too fast. You create so much extra work for yourself when you try to vacuum so fast. I was always taught to move steadily and not so fast. That way you only have to go over one section once. It's a waste of time being so frantic with it. Even a cheap vacuum will do well if you don't move it around like a racecar.

    that dirt looks to be on the surface, a normal vacuum needs to move the carpet fibers easily and suck up what goes down to the carpet matting. This thing is to light on the head, I might like it on hard floors and maybe car vac, and quick stuff around. A normal weighted vacuum will do better

  • @robjonson629
    @robjonson629 6 років тому

    Hi, this worked OK for a few months but then it started to develop a problem - it runs for 20-30 seconds or so and then stops running, it then wont run again until several hours later or sometimes the next day.
    I build race cars so I dont mind trying to fix stuff, I got in touch with customer services and I set about cleaning filters, disassembling the unit, changing filter for a new one etc - the kind of stuff that no housewife/mum has time to do - after all this the Dyson still doesnt work, so I can build a car engine from parts but I cannot fix this vacuum cleaner.
    Got in touch with customer services again who said "buy a new battery for £60" - unbelievable, so the battery in my phone works everyday for years but the same type of battery in the dyson lasts only 6 months charged around once a week.
    We have since gone old school and are now using the stand up dust pan and brush, we do not miss the crappy Dyson but id like my £250 back from that self-superior sounding con-man off the TV who has sold me a pile of rubbish.

    In all honesty i have owned 3 vaccums from dyson, stick to the cheaper high suction vaccums they always do a better job in reality because they are more sturdy, cheaper to repair, less small moving parts, and suction is actually better to its simple design. Dyson has to many complex parts to its design that when you are trying to use a vaccum in your busy everyday life its not the kind of vaccum u want to use when your in a rush or you have kids etc. its more of the fancy upper class vaccum where you the kind to clean your slowly and thoroughly

    I have this exact model. Could have gotten the absolute for the same price, but I didn't have time to wait a week to get, since it was the weekend n I needed one right away. They are great tools, especially if you keep your house clean and zip around with the V6 to keep it maintained. Nice to have the handheld to clean around the windows, baseboards, cobwebs in the corners and stuff like that. The flexible dusting attachment would be nice for things like ceiling fans or areas that are up high, where you can't reach high enough to pivot the unit downwards to clean the fan blades. That attachment does not come with this model. But, it does clean the carpet well and it works fine on the laminate flooring. I have gotten to like the convenience of the cordless vac. It's perfect for my approximate 400 sq ft. office, which has a very low pile carpet. If you're going to be tackling big jobs, which will require some time, then you may want to get a corded vac. You can get a good corded one like the Shark Rotator , rocket duo clean or something like that, then you want have to worry about the battery. I will try out the shark corded n cordless version to see how they do. But, overall I do like the Dyson V6 and now you can find this model New for about 150.00 shipped now on ebay, which makes it a very good deal. Now that I have my dad's house clean, it's a breeze to keep up his laminate flooring with the Dyson V6!!

    although asking over 2 yrs later but one test I don't see but wish to know how does it vacuum up against the wall edge or cupboard edge? Cos some hoovers do leave about an inch of untouched areas up against the wall and using a crevice device tends to make the job last longer due to that inch or so.

    I have three gripes about the cleaner. 1/When you try and remove it from the wall charger the plate that holds the door of the dust collector drags on the charger housing and opens spilling its contents everywhere.. 2/ If you do manage to remove it intact and then want to empty the dust collector again that back plate wants to come away from the vacuum. 3/ Once you have opened the door to its contents you need to use a small knife to drag out the rubbish. It has never just slid out.
    I do not recommend the machine and regret buying it. It has been more trouble than it's worth.

    I got this Dyson V6 but it didn't have the attachments that you have there and my question was that there was instructions to a number one which is on the top umbrella of the vacuum and a number to which is the setting on the handle but I don't understand how you press the number one since there isn't any way that it presses in...no button

    We've had ours over a year and it's absolutely the best we've ever owned. Suction is unbelievably strong. Even on the regular setting. The way it maneuvers, we can get it everywhere. We've never been able to do such deep, complete cleaning with any other vac we've owned. As far as picking up the black hair in your video. Try coming at it at a different angle. I vac embedded cat hair off comforters and find that different angles get it.

  • @LAD241

    If you get a chance to try a Dyson V8 in your home I would recommend it. I invested in a Dyson V8 Absolute. I was fed up of taking the bin of the V6 and I liked the V8 in every way possible when I tested one in the Dyson shop in London. It is much quieter than the Dyson V6 and the motorised head is very powerful and you can feel the agitation on the carpet. On laminate flooring with the fluffy head it hardly makes a sound at all. Even on max it is fairly quiet. It can't quite replace an upright but it is perfect for a quick clean in between cleans if you only vacuum say once a week and the carpet needs a quick clean or if you live in a flat and only have rugs and a hard floor it would replace your vacuum. I paid an eye watering £400 for it but am hoping to make half of my money back on the sale of the V6. It is one of the top of the range models of V6 which costed £420 last time I checked but I paid £300

    I love my Dyson V6 for its suction, light weight and its manoeuvrability. But Your demonstration of emptying the bin, is far
    more clinical than the reality of emptying a bunch of dust/hair/debris that has stuck to the filter. There is no way to remove it without actually touching it with your hands (urgh) or getting an implement to drag it out of the bin. Unless of course anyone knows different. Suggestions please.

    • @ibaisaic

      Dyson addressed this problem with the V7, V8 and V10 with a self cleaning shroud. Unfortunately on the V6 models, stuff does get stuck to the central shroud.

    The Dyson V6 Absolute cordless is great for picking up dust etc. but what a nightmare to clean it. It is so frustrating that you feel you want to throw it out the window. It takes so long and is a very dusty and messy job. I was thinking of getting one with a more lasting battery, however I have second thoughts now.

      Bagless means more maintenance and messy emptying. Go for a bagged vacuum if you want a cleaner experience.

    Thanks for such a comprehensive review. The demonstrations of the vacuum's capabilities were especially helpful. Having a few cats and a little dog, I need a supplemental, on-the-spot vacuum that can keep the fur at bay (especially in the summer months when the cats seem to shed, endlessly). Your review helped a great deal in my decision making process. I think the V6 is a good match for my needs.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  6 років тому

      Personally I would upgrade to a V7 or V8 model if your budget allows as it incorporates a better emptying system that cleans the central shroud each time you empty and an improved motorised head for carpets. Selected models also come with a mini motorised tool which is ideal for cleaning pet hair from upholstery, pet bedding and stairs.
