I continue to think it's interesting how they introduced both sides equally to the player, ocelot and miller are so mean to Huey while Huey is still given the chance to explain himself very well, instead of just being a strawman lore dump, leaving it up to us to decide if Huey really is a traitor, or ocelot and miller have their own alterior motives, possibly even manipulating venom onto their side to suit their own goals. I just wish there was an opportunity to make our own decision, even just the option to pack some food for him on the raft or a kill scene like quiet and skull face, but taking that option away from us might give even more credence to the theory that miller and ocelot have already succeeded in manipulating venom
Well, it wouldn't be canonical if huey died at the hands of Venom and Diamond Dogs since it's already stated that Hal and Emma knew their father in MGS2 where he tried to drown himself and Emma in the pool, but only he drowned.
As someone who played both Peace Walker and Phantom Pain, it still bugs me how the characters like Huey completely changed personality from PW to PP. I get that it was 9 years and many has happened during that time. I wanted to believe that Huey wasn't totally responsible for the destruction of Mother base that he was also been tricked by XOF. However, I guess 9 years of being with XOF completely changed Huey's perspective eventually twisted him. When Huey has finally reunited with Big Boss, I think he was genuinely happy but since they view him as traitor so they treated him harshly. It completely dampens their relationship that they've invested during Peace Walker. Can't help to think that, in a way, Skullface successfully ruined their sense of comraderie to each other. I guess that's one of the thing about Phantom Pain.. there's nothing left but revenge and hatred from Miller and the rest.
