Thanks so much for this video. I took my wiper Cowl off and reached in thought it was good. Found your video removed the piece and discovered the back corner of the fresh air screen was completely packed with leaves and debris. Thanks again
Really glad you found it useful. Thanks so much for commenting!
Wow, just did this and vacuumed out about a half gallon of dried leaves. Thank you!
Haha its amazing how many leaves the truck can pack up in there. Glad it helped!
Thanks for this vid!
Awesome mann.. specially the filters under the seats damn who knew
Great content
Yeah that little sucker was a surprise the first time we found it lol thanks for commenting!
Keeeep going 🙌🙌
This was very helpful. I have mice in my air intake and this will definitely help me clean everything out! Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Thanks for commenting!
you have a great personality good video s
Appreciate that! Thanks so much for commenting!
Great content as always guys! Thanks for the pointers and tricks. I haven't done this yet to mine, but it's something I will reference for the future (your video is saved to my truck playlist by the way) 😁
I had to use a video from a nice gentleman changing out the bulbs in his F150 (non Raptor, but still the same headlights luckily) I put some nice blue LED headlights in to replace those old boring yellowish headlights that come from the factory. Now my 2010 Raptor has an aggressive updated look, and we even have the same ones in our 2014 Freightliner Cascadia. I love the look, and the lights even have built in cooling fans in the back, how cool is that?! (Pun intended). I would eventually like to get some of the headlights like those you have in your Raptor, Uncle Jake. But for now, these will do. My task was way easier than yours, but thanks again for sharing your wealth of experience with the rest of us who mechanic on a shoestring budget 😉
Did not know about the filter under the passenger seat, mine is heated only, and only my passenger gets that luxury because mine on the drivers side doesn't work for some reason (maybe a fuse, or bad connection under the seat) but I will try and track it down, I guess I will have to take it back to the dealership and get them to check it out if all else fails.
Have a great one y'all!
This saved my ass thinking it was my ac had a legit tree growing underneath there along with leaves and everything thank you so much!
Really glad it was helpful, thanks so much for commenting!
You are great I'm from iraq and this is the only video on UA-cam 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍k
That's so awesome, our first comment from Iraq!! Thanks for the comment and thanks for watching!!
Good to see some actual good content on the Gen 1 Raptor, lots of videos of guys flexing with just b roll of their builds or vlogs doing too much talking, maintenance vids ftw! Thanks would love to see more of these
Thanks so much! We’ve got a bunch of tutorials on this rig and more coming so stay tuned. Thanks for commenting!
Nice green mean looking Swinger, in the background. ( I had a '70 Dodge Dart Swinger. ) And thanks for the info, on your videos.
Thanks for the kind comments, and we'll let Dr Torque know the Dart has another fan!
I replaced the vented seats filters last year after reading about it in the manual.
They looked fine so I held onto them but still replaced them with new ones with no media but just holes.
I dropped the blower motor yesterday to remove the broken piece that was causing the motor to vibrate the entire truck.
I need to remove the leaves on the top side of the blower motor one of these days.
I’ve had the truck since 2013 when I bought it brand new.
Right around 56,000 miles right now.
Sweet! Sounds like a nice rig and very cool you're the original owner. We're working on a way of preventing the leaves from getting down on that grate. Once we figure it out, we'll post a video here so stayed tuned. Thanks for commenting!
Also, don't forget we have a video on how to replace that broken piece WITHOUT removing the dash like Ford says you have to, if you're going to fix it: ua-cam.com/video/aop-XfuFqFM/v-deo.html
I went a little different route to get all the rear screws out. I used a short piece of hacksaw blade and cut out a few of the rear plastic grids so I could take out with a 8mm wrench and a small ratchet and 8mm socket. I didn’t get it done in three hours but around 8 hours taking breaks, I’m 70 years old.
Haha, you did great! You are 70 young my friend :)
When taking your pcm out take the battery out first never leave the battery in and attached
Infinity Overland makes a kit to put in a cabin air filter and keep leaves from accumulating behind the computer.
We'll have to look into that, thanks!
👍
Could this be why my air seems to blow harder than other times? It truly feels like sometimes my air blows really hard and other times its not as hard. No issues with the ducts or anything. I did the resistor replacement already, is it possible that the blower motor has an issue from the old resistor getting hot and having the burned look that they get? If so i will just get a new blower motor.
Its really hard to tell without being there to mess with the truck with you, but if your ducts are all cleaned like we showed in the video, our next step would be to diagnose if the blower motor regulator was sending proper voltages to the blower. If so, we'd probably throw a new blower at it. Good luck!
i had my oil changed i have a 2010 raptor do they change that cabin filter with the oil change or thats something totally different
So good news the cabin filter was just a joke, your truck doesn't have one. Oddly, trucks of this vintage don’t have them even tho lots of the competition did. So no worries there. But weirdly, the seat has a filter if you have the vented seats. However we do show some other areas in the video where debris can get built up and clog your air flow so be sure to check out the rest of the video. Thanks for the question!
@@MotorsandMischief was that for me
It was. We wrote it on mobile and in rereading it, it didn't make a lot of sense. We edited it. Bottom line, no cabin air filter in your truck so you don't have to change it. Thanks again for the question!
@@MotorsandMischief 👌👌👍
Infinity overland makes a airfilter kit for these trucks.
You don't say? Well that's awesome, we'll check that out for sure. Might be a video on that coming soon... Thanks for commenting!
@@MotorsandMischief yeah it installs in the cowl area with hepa filter an all
Im gonna check that out for sure, thanks for the tip!
I don't understand; where is it supposed to be placed?
Does cleaning the fresh air grate increase AC airflow?
If its being blocked like mine was, and you want fresh air, it can definitely help.
Thanks for saving me $21.00
That's like 3 lattes at today's prices!
😅 I feel like I don’t wanna do mine anymore 😅😅😅😅😅
🤣
Were and the he'll is cabin filter on a Ford f150 2014
You missed the joke, there is no cabin filter on that truck. So nothing to change.
In your face engineers lol, cool fix.
Do you know the part number or name ?
Hey Flight Medic the fresh air filter was just a joke, the Raptor and F-150 don't have one. They rely on a grate system instead, and all you have to do is follow the steps in the video to clean that up for free. Thanks for commenting!
You can't tell me what to do!
