    My truck exhaust set up was almost identical to yours when I when I bought it with a Whipple 2.9 super charger. I installed a straight through resonator, a bigger straight through muffler and a tail pipe that extends over the axle and it sounds much better! 🤘🏼

    • @OldManGarage
      @OldManGarage 2 роки тому +1

      Also I went through three exhaust setups to get it quiet to down. it's the headers that cause it to be so ear piercing loud just so you know. It is still a very loud truck after doing all that but sounds much better.

      Not when you consider the drawbacks. If enough dust gets in, it can settle on the AC condenser in the cab and eventually disable it and you won’t get any air cold air. To repair, the whole interior and dash has to come out.

      Still sucking dust from outside. And if your screen is all clogged, the smell inside the cab will only get worse.

    Great video, will be doing this come spring. But one question, the AC cover that gets taken off to clean the screen, does that get put back on ? Or left off since that area is sealed with the new filter ?

    Loved the video. Helped me install mine! Was wondering if you could offer your two cents?
    I’m one of those unlucky people who is experiencing low air flow now after the installation. Recirculation blows hard and cold. Once I switch to regular A/C it immediately sounds like a vacuum in the glovebox and the air flow goes to 2/10, even on the highest setting. I've tried spraying down the evaporator but that was no help. Considering a coil cleaner treatment. Was wondering if you had any other ideas on what it could be? Thank you!

      So easy way to check is to remove the computer and see how much debris you have on the screen. You may have to use your phone or a mirror to see.
      Also keep in mind that the condenser or what ever that radiator thing inside the cab is called is clogged from years of dirt, then you have an even bigger job on your hands.

      Properly sealed the water does not get in. Going to be changing mine here soon and will confirm.

    Do they say how long the filters last or how often they should be changed

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  2 роки тому +1

      It depends on how often you hit trails really. Don’t hit trails at all, do it every other oil change. Hit trails all the time you could be changing it every 2-3 months. On my Gen2 we did it quarterly and if we noticed a musty smell we changed it early because it meant it was caked up.

  • @mindgame808
    @mindgame808 2 роки тому +1

    After installing the kit, have you noticed a decrease in air flow when switched to outside air? Thanks :)

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  2 роки тому +1

      No decrease at all. No more musty smell either.
      If you have a decrease in air flow after, there are 2 things to check. 1 make sure the screen is clear, some skip this step. 2. Check your AC condenser. Many guys find that years of running without a condenser results in the dust building up on the AC condenser into a hard rock mud. Once it’s clogged the whole interior has to come out to swap it.

      @@KeepItDirtyOffRoad K!! Installed the kit this weekend. When I removed the filter, flow rate returned. When I placed my replacement filter, flow rate sux’d.
      I created a vid to demonstrate the strength of the flow without the filter. If you are getting a good flow, you may want to check for leaks.
      This explains why a cra* load of leaves find its way into the vent guard.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  2 роки тому +1

      Oh yeah!!. That is a must. I think book states every 100k miles. I personally have not done it. Transmissions make me nervous and will work with a shop to change, not flush, the oil.
      This Raptor has low miles. BUT, we will be changing the transmission fluid because of its age and we want to install a bypass valve for better cooling.

    • @KeepItDirtyOffRoad
      @KeepItDirtyOffRoad  Рік тому

      Gen1 raptors and 2009-2014 F150s have very well documented AC issues. Most common issue is blend doors breaking. We just ran into one of them. There is also heater core issues and finally because there is no filter, some get enough dust that the condenser in the truck gets caked up enough that it has to be replaced.
