I just ordered this kit. I’ve played acoustic my whole life since I was 8 I’m 50 now. I’ve played all Neil Pearts stuff and Led Zeppelin being my all time favorite drummers. I got divorced and had to move in a apartment so I left my acoustic kit behind and have been searching for a set that sounds real with real kick pedals so I can play stuff likeTom Sawyer so I hope it’s as good as they say it is because anyone who’s ever played Rush knows you use all kinds of tricky bass rhythms.

Just got my kit and put it together today! Guitar player here, certainly goin to check out Drummeo .
70 year old still bad ass (sorry but it's true lol - I got yer Dad guitar right here) guitar player, but learned the drum rudiments in 5th grade because Beatles, but when it was apparent 'rents couldn't afford a set back then guitar was the result - still I can play somewhat okay some drums. I ask you, my Max kit comes in 2 days... upon research I see reports of the snare mount bracket sagging being an issue and many rec getting a snare stand (I could improvise support from a tube guitar stand if need be) so I ask has that been an issue for you, or for any other reading this? Thanks ! 🎸

We're are at that inflection point where new kits and features are going to come out regularly. The Prime kit is just an example. Other manufacturers will follow. The question now becomes when to pull the trigger on one of these kits. They are quickly becoming performance capable and percussion drums will go the way of the dodo bird.
Why doesn't gear4music showroom Alesis drum kits in his store in York?
The cymbal choke function is not important. The important thing is whether it is a real hi-hat stand or not. If it's not real, the pedal doesn't have to be real. There should be at least 2 crashes, and... many people say it has a high defect rate. It is difficult to become a major brand without improvement.
Hi, thanks for the comment! You're right that a traditional hi-hat is always best for development but not always great for space. I can say as someone who loves to step the Hi-hat there are some great improvements on the Alesis nitro Max!!!
@@Gear4musicdrums It seems like the hi-hat switch is spatially advantageous and the stand is a disadvantage... but that's not true. You either have to do both with a switch, or you have to do it with pedals and a stand... and, you know what? Are hi-hat stands for electronic drums also responding slower than real hi-hat stands? Of course, you know that much... a combination of pedals and switches, and only one crash... that's the problem. Yeah.
@@laiftaim you have the option not to buy it, and go for something real.
Do you know if the EFNOTE Snare Pad 12" is compatible with the drum module of this kit?
So between the Alesis Max and the Simmons 50 which one would you choose ???
Simmons I feel has better sounds.
Can someone help? Can you play the nitro max through a speaker at the same time as listening to it through headphones. The left/right output on the back of the nitro max module to a 3.5mm jack into the speaker and headphones connected to the nitro max module? It won’t work for me 😩
I only used headphone jack to connect them to the Harman Cardon amp and there I can have headphones too. But as you said, you should be able to use headphones output and outputs (main left & right), what is the issue there, what does not work?

Yes i have this kit. You have to hit it really hard and it give you the bell.

I am thorn between buying the new Nitro Max 8-pcs for $400 or the older Nitro 10-pcs for $359. What would you recommend, not considering the add-ons on the Nitro Max?
Better brain and dual zone 10” snare is a much better use of money than an extra Tom and cymbal. At the level of playing these are intended for, those extra pieces would hardly be utilized. Less is more.
The 10 piece version of the Nitro Max is available for $499 if you want the extras

They just released the surge SE last year, so I doubt it.
@@demonicsweaters think it could hurt Surge sales with the older module... but I guess they'll shift more nitro kits.
I give it six to 12 months until we see an upgraded module on the surge

Can I get a double pedal working with this kit?
Hi Yes you can!
No, seems to be the same pad as the old one, you can not fit a double pedal there, you hit the border of that pad and will fire the sounds whenever it wants. Can't believe they didn't upgrade that, luckily nowadays there's a lot of other cheap brands that already have a bigger pad for the bassdrum.
Look up 66Samus and check out his review on this kit. You'll see him using a double kick pedal on his kit.

My snare drum stand slowly comes out as I play it how do I fix that
Mine worked by just tightening it more. But ive also seen other people just opting for a regular snare stand.

@@maddzyreviews6612 I ended up doing the same lol. Not long after this comment my snare arm just wouldnt hold up anymore no matter how much it was tightened so now im using a snare stand from an old acoustic kit haha

@@maddzyreviews6612 Sorta kinda. I really had to mess with it till I found a good way to hold it but now its rock solid. Id imagine that 10in would be better suited and shouldnt give any issues
Hi! Does this kit have a choke on the the crash and ride cymbals (not the hi hat). Also, one thing I'm looking for is a kit with a snare that can do the snare head sound, rimshot sound, and side-stick sound all in one drum sound in the module. Thanks! Great video by the way! I'm half way through. Still watching!
Probably you won't find a drumset on this price range that does that on the snare drum. It has to be a triple zone snare and it is complicated to find on this drum sets, maybe you'll need to buy a drum set that's a step above this one
Yes. The snare has regular hit, rimshot and cross stick.
I got an offer of a brand new Roland td-25 for 270$. Which one has better sound quality, the Alesis nitro max or Roland td-25?

I love the new max kit sounds awesome but who ever designed the Rack needs to be fired !!! Why didn't you just use the drum key for all the screws instead of that cheap little hex key ????? and charged $429.99 WTH Alesis

Very frustrating vid. The guy is verbally explaining what the cymbols can do. He's sitting at the kit, sticks in hand. Doesn't demonstrate. Seriously?!?
Save your money and buy a Roland kit. Or Simmons.
