    Thank you for posting the video and giving your thoughts around the nitro mesh. I have been playing drums on and off for the last 15 years and given my current living situation I cannot play my acoustic drums. Been a year since I even picked up a stick. Needles to say, this has inspired me to research the electronic drum space further.
    Funny enough I stumbled across your Damon Che documentary and been poking through your content and found this- loving all of it! Keep it up :D

    Great video, I even let all the adds run and I've never done that. I did a floating riser just to protect my flooring so I bought a discounted box of laminate hardwood with the foam backing attached. The stuff snaps together so they require no power tools just a hammer and cheap installation tool (Plastic Block) you can get at any home depot or lowes the planks come in a box, are just shy of four feet 47.5 inches and only 10mm thick, just snap together until you have enough to cover your kits footprint. If you find damaged or otherwise discounted or discontinued material you can get a really good deal. I don't know how well the foam backed planks will dampen the vibration transfer for the people downstairs but it can be a cheap and very easy solution for people with no tools to isolate their new kit from the floor of the home they love or the rental they wish not to damage.

    I took my dual zone snare an swapped it with the 2nd tom. Now I can use the rim of the Tom for a ride, while still having the three toms. This may be an alternative option for people who want a five piece and three cymbals!

    • @theinfamousmartin
      @theinfamousmartin Рік тому +1

      @@Swayze1997 i don't have this kit anymore, but I'm pretty sure you plug the Tom cable into the dual zone pad (the one that was the snare but is now the tom) and put the snare cord into the one that was your Tom but is now your snare.
      If that doesn't work, then just keep the cords the same, swap the Tom and snare, and just swap the sounds in the settings. I know you can change the rim sound independently from the normal head, so either option should work.
      Hope that helps!

I have to say I was a bit disappointed to find that your link to a list of the sound banks did not work. That would be super helpful to have. Lastly, toward the end of your video, I couldn't help but notice that you started to sound like Andy Rooney, a commentator whom I've always enjoyed for his frankness and don't care attitude. This is far and away the best video for this kit. Aside from habing to raise the height of the kit..this is really a solid kit for the money. Im gonna buy a better snare because this one doesnt have great velocity capture, ghost notes are like barely there it is like all attack on these pads. But seriously great video! I also use the left rack tom as a ride..i extend it out to make it feel closer to an acoustic kit vibe, but i never tried new pitches. You just opened up my afternoon! Thanks brother.

      Sure, I don't see why not. You'd just have to reverse the L and R parts of the rack and put the corresponding drums where they need to be. It is more or less a standard drum rack, which can be assembled pretty much any way you like. Good luck with it!

    Excellent video! I just picked up this kit about 3 months ago and I am really enjoying playing it and your videos have really helped me explore all the possibilities. My question is I am looking into giving virtual drum lessons using Alesis Nitro and a Chromebook. I have a Simmons drum amp and I could purchase a webcam but I'm afraid that might make too much noise for the neighbors. I wasn't sure whether there is a way I can plug directly into the Chromebook and give lessons over the internet. Anyway thanks for the excellent videos and keep up the great work! And I have to agree with someone else who posted a comment about how terrible the rimshot sound is I totally agree and have changed it!

      Glad to be of service! As far as I know chromebooks allow you to use USB audio interfaces such as this one amzn.to/2R6dA74 and you could use that for the audio and the webcam on the Chomebook. I’m not sure what the options are as far as video (if that’s what you were thinking) chat since I haven’t used Chrome OS in a long time. If you wanted to have a mic going at the same time, maybe just get a little mixer with USB like this one. amzn.to/37P08dX

    Hi, really enjoying your videos. I just bought the same kid used, and really like it. I'm finding the foot triggers to be a little challenging, especially the kick pad which doesn't sound nearly as good as yours. Mine seems to lack stability, and doesn't have as consistent sound response as the snare, which is excellent. Wondering if you've got any tips? Thanks again for your great work.

    Hello, thanks for all your great vids on this kit so far. Very excited that mine is going to be with me in about a week or so. I'm already planning on doing the drum riser, brilliant Idea with the balls!.................A quick question though, how much floor space are you taking up there? I know the width of the kit can be adjusted by swinging the legs out to suit etc....Just wondering what the 'footprint' of your setup is please? Apoligies if it's a stupid question but for me it'll be the difference between me setting up in a spare room...or being banished out into the garden shed! lol! Keep up the excellent videos! Cheers!

    Hi Justin, it is a great video, thanks so much for taking the time to make this content and with so much detail, I got a question for you tho:
    I’ve been playin acoustic kits for 15 years now and this is my first electronic kit so, I’m very used to play with the tips of my feet touching the pedals and both heels all the way up most of the time. So I’ve been trying to get the switch sound on the Hi-Hats on this electronic kit and realized it only works when my left heel is touching the pedal, if not, it just won’t work, ¿Do you have any idea of why this happens?, ¿Have I been playing drums with a poor feet technique all this time?, I mean, are heels supposed to be touching the pedals all the time?, thanks in advance.

    Hey thanks for the videos on the nitro mesh. I just picked one up and I'm also new to drums. Would you say the built-in sounds are on par with what you can get using it as a midi trigger and loading something like Superior drummer in a daw? I really like the idea of getting the entire sound I like out of the module and then just tracking via the audio outs.

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  Рік тому

      No, they’re definitely not on par in terms of realism. But you can get creative with it and program some pretty cool sounds if you spend the time. I recorded some music with mine that has been released such as Demonic Sweaters Driving Songs and Pan-Demos

    Could you please make a short video on how to adjust the splash on the hi hat? I have gone into the settings, and tried different kits but I can't seem to get it to work. I'm starting to think my hi-hat pedal is malfunctioning? I've tried Alesis support, but haven't received any reply. Forums have also not helped. I've even done a factory reset on the kit. Maybe I'm just missing an obvious step.
    Thank you for this video. The versatility of this kit is the reason I bought it. Great for beginners through intermediate and up from there.

    • @demonicsweaters
      @demonicsweaters  3 роки тому

      There's really no adjustment for it. Are you using a replacement hi hat pedal by chance? I've tried other hi hat controllers on the Nitro, and none of them except for the original seem to be capable of making a splash sound.
