@@00Peter00 It is very fun but difficult. I found out it gives also great exercise. I struggle to use feet and hands at the same time. But I just give it time. The drums are Great. I would never expect it sound like real drums, but it does.

I see very little "raising of the bar" on all of the videos I've seen of this kit so far. The rack is visibly shaking around all over the place. One video you can see the snare actually tipping side to side as it's being played. In this video you can see the kick drum sliding about an inch every time you hit it. The sounds are barely better if at all. There's no more zones on the cymbals. Basically you get a slightly bigger snare, and a bunch of app trials. The Nitro Mesh was at least pretty sturdy. This thing looks insanely flimsy.

Nitro mesh was pretty shaky from my experience. Just sold it to get something more substantial funny enough a day before this came out. This isn’t a big upgrade for me to consider despite the funny coincidence. The rack is too short and small. Would be great for a kid though. I felt like I couldn’t really lean into it out of fear of breaking it. Also the soldering on the kick drum pickup came undone after too much abuse. Was able to solder it back together but still. This looks to have the same kick pad too.

@@demonicsweaters There does seem to be a knack to getting a single clean hit technique wise from the pedal, that said I've only been playing 2 days and I'm trying not to make too much physical noise.

Looking at this kit now. Seems like a win-win. Do you need an audio interface in order to use the BFD software?

  • @gwugluud

I would hope the acoustic kits will have more realistic toms than my Nitro mesh. And that the hi hat would relay MIDI information toward my Addictive Drums vst 100% of the time, instead of just when it feels like it.

  • @danielkarsten1579

Hi! Does this kit have a choke on the the crash and ride cymbals (not the hi hat). Also, one thing I'm looking for is a kit with a snare that can do the snare head sound, rimshot sound, and side-stick sound all in one drum sound in the module. Thanks! Great video by the way! I'm half way through. Still watching!

    • @fredydeekrueger169
      @fredydeekrueger169 5 місяців тому

Only 1 of the cymbals has the choke feature. If you buy the expansion pack then you will have another cymbal with the choke feature.

I got this before it was released (didn't mean to, just found it at Sam Ash last Sunday) and I can say it's really good, but I personally have found that the frame a bit flimsy and the hihat pedal is a bit too sensitive (if I lift my foot up just a little, it'll register as an open hihat)

I am enjoying the kit very much but as I can see with your video also that depending on what type of material is under your bass drum pedal it still seems to travel north. Suggestions?

Does the ride have a bell? Is it a dual zone? Nobody seems to want to answer that question on the other reviews I've watched.

All the cymbals are single zone.

    • @Atomic_Haggis

The cymbal is velocity driven so if you hit it harder the sound changes to the ride bell.

I have a question as a father of a young drummer. If I want to hear him play this can anyone recommend some nice sounding speaker systems to hear this electric kit through? Reasonably priced. Would I need to buy speakers and a sub? Can it play reasonably well through an amplifier? Thanks for your input.

Hey Jack! I ll try help.
      1. Studio monitors helpfull for mixing, recording also, not just for playing.
      2. Roland has some keyboard/drum amplifiers kc series.
      3. Cheap and pretty goos alternative behringer fx series.

At 10:27 I can distinctly hear you clanking on the high hat, it sounds like you're hitting a cardboard trash can lid. Then the clanking disappears, then comes back and the high hat is muted in between....Sounds like you edit out the clanking of the high hat cymbal when your stick hits it. UPDATE: Yep, I just listened to it again and you are definitely editing out the sound of your wooden stick hitting the plastic high hat cymbal. Why would you do that? The clanking sound is pretty loud isn't it?

roland and roland only, unless its the more expensive sets of other companies but if youre spending 2000 or 3000, just go roland. ive been playing my roland td-11 for many years and its going strong, was about 800 at the time.
Edit: im at the 12:10 mark and you can see his high hats arent even being registered that well, and my god this kit is even more crap then i thought, roland all day.
